Possibly related to these, and solved in build 188? I hope so, won't be able to test until later today. Try updating ACE and see if it fixes the problem.

Crash and grab is insane. Theres wayyyy too many enemies in the pilot camp and surrounding village. It's impossible for the 7 man team to take them down or even snag the pilot and extract, there's just no way. It's like, why the hell do the enemy have so many troops at a lil outpost like that? Are they preparing for all out war? The mission is good but this detail needs to be addressed.

Could you describe the approach/tactics that you are using? Also what difficulty/mods are you playing with? In vanilla Arma 2 I found I could waltz into the town with little problem and pick off the enemies. This past weekend I played a LAN match with some friends and we had ACE and Zeus AI on and it was scary as hell. We got chased by the AI all the way to the nearby castle. I assure you it is possible even on higher difficulties, but you may have to adjust your playing style since you are fighting a force of superior numbers. If you can describe where you usually get killed or what goes wrong I can look into tweaking enemy numbers/positions.

IT's just way too many enemies. I tried taking the town head on, trying to clear all tangos, didnt work so then took the back way where the pilot is being held to try to snag him and run off with him without trying to kill every enemy. It forces me to keep saving/loading and still can't get it done. The whole damn area lit up with enemies. I'm playing on veteran mode, and using ACE2. It's just way too many enemies, even 1/3 of what's there would be quite a lot. If you keep the enemies around the actual pilot camp thats cool, but the huge number of enemies situated in the rest of the village is just senseless.

Fair enough, I'll do some more testing and get an update out soon. My only advice is to try guerrilla tactics. Try striking, then falling back, and draw the enemy out to you in order to thin them out.

Exactly, thanks Bink. Sadly, vanilla pilot AI is a bit silly. I can probably adjust their flight route so that they have time to gain altitude before reaching any trees. For now, use VFTCAS (it's just a good mod to have enabled anyways). I really hope BIS does something about the piloting AI in the future though.

No longer requires VFTCAS to my knowledge, now the pilots will actually clear the trees at the airfield and fly to the LZ. Let me know if they encounter problems anywhere else. I've been relying on VFTCAS too much I suppose, since it fixes a critical flaw in Arma 2.

Hello and thank you for your awesome missions.

However, me and my friends are having a problem getting Crash&grab working. We have downloaded Adukes helopack but server complains all the time for "Wrong key". Im sure that we have placed them properly and settings are good, because other missions with required addons work well. Any idea what the problem might be? :confused:

Honestly I have no idea, servers are not really my specialty. Could it be ACE related? Every time I've hosted that mission I haven't seen any errors. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can answer this..

Just played the Hearts and Minds in SP, great one! Works flawlessly, no weird errors or whatever, not even the chopper crashed (as I usually expect^^), in contrast, it made short work of the enemy, nice show. And a cool ending: I just put a 30sec satchel under his balls, said good-bye and walked out slowly while the house blew up behind me ;P
