Battle Of Fallujah Map

Recommended Posts

Rebl,

Have you finalized the limits of the map you are going to use? The reason I ask this is because you may want to look at this photo:

510 kb

The buildings to the bottom right of the lake are part of the MEK compound (aka Camp Fallujah)

Used by I MEF during the 2nd Battle of Fallujah. This was the major base in the region and the jump off point for the attack. Arty, M1A1's, LAV's and Tracks came and went constantly from there. Not to mention constant air cover from AH1's and AH-64's. Also the occasional F-16 and F-15 strikes.

Just to try and help (These may not even be the correct Mosque. Some of the pics look like the same, but only have 1 minaret, maybe its just different camera angles, or a totally diferent mosque. It seems to be Al-Kulafas mosque)

Hello guys, long time no see, sorry for not reply your comments.

I just wanna say that the map still on hold, But i don't know when its going to be finished, I was looking for people who want to join the work, But i guess that no one was interested, So i worked alone on the map (models, textures, etc) with my friend, But i ""think"" he's no more on modding :(.

i wanted the map to be so much more detailed and great , so i got tired of making it, and i got bored of it, and i don't know when the map is going to finish , So the ultimate fate for the map is unknown :(.

hope you all got my point, and sorry for my english if it was annoying.

see ya all...

Strikes me you may as well do it for Arma 2 instead. Partly cos of the forthcoming desert stuff, but also because urban stuff in Arma is lag city (if you pardon the pun), and to get a decent experience you tend to need a pretty modern hi-spec PC, in which case you're probably better off with Arma2 anyway (at least I gather most people still playing Arma are doing so because they don't want to buy a whole new rig or their current one wouldn't run A2 at all well).

Now that's simply not true.

Damn well is on my PC. An urban setting would need an awful lot of objects on screen with no use for view difference or fog to tone it down. At the moment I get horrendeous lag on anything from the town sections of the default Arma maps to those of Opteryx's Avgani and Afghan Village...and barely any movement on Sakakah Al Jawf. And while my PC isn't that modern anymore (maybe 2 years old) it certainly isn't that bad and hasn't that problem with numerous other games I use it for. And my settings are hardly cranked up and resolution is pretty low. I had not thought I was in such a minority.

Hi, same here, i can't use the great Opteryx's latest Avgani map for more than 15mins without

that the building textures begin to swap from low to high, same for their LODs, editing a mission

there is just impossible for me even setting the view distance to 1000m, this don't happens

in his also great latest Afgan Village map; so for many people is saddly true, the urban enviroments

are not well handed for our computers. Let's C ya

Back on issue....how's the progress on this island? Still seems that alot of people are interested. Maybe we can get some addon makers to pick this up if you have run out of time due to RL things. Cheers

if you have arma 2 try avgani there, it works absolutely outstanding with everything on highest and even 5000 viewdistance.

in arma 1 i couldnt even play that map with medium to low settings and more than 700 meter viewdistance.

i have cpu amd x2 6000 , ati 4870 , 2 gb ram

Hey people.

Several years passed by , project never finished or released. I hopelessly gave up and decide to leave the project 3 years ago, Because of Collage and Expenses that I can't cover up to buy a super computer in order to design the map I wanted to design. But something brought me back actually to this forum, I still want to design addons, I don't know why, something inside is telling me that there are things you didn't do yet.

I didn't came here to tell you guys that the project is ongoing (if you actually give a shit about what I just wrote xD), but I really want to build a big realistic urban battle experience for you guys to enjoy it, and I still have a hope for the project to go further in the very near future.

Thanks.

I can't wait to see what you have in mind, I enjoy the Fallujah map very much, even though there wasn't as many enter-able buildings as I hoped. Good luck, and maybe your new map your working on (or going to work on) will have about every building enter-able.

It's really good news! Are you going to use a Cup_Terrains or your own objects to create this map?

Regards!
