Selection X needs a section. The shadow volume may not work well.

I'm getting a very small number of these error messages occasionally popping up in Mikero's pboProject bin logs.

 

The shadow volume is closed, triangulated, and sharp. No textures or materials.

It seems to work fine in game with no rpt errors.

99% of the other named selections don't throw the error.

 

So it's more out of curiosity than necessity - does anyone know what causes this message and how to fix it please?

I was getting it recently on two selections - spare (for an animated spare tyre) and zbytek for some cargo proxies which had carried that into the shadowvolume.

 

deleting zbytek from the shadowvolume fixed one - i guess it doesn't like animated proxies in shadowvolume?

re the spare tyre, i have left it in on my vehicles, as it doesn't seem to cause any problems. i agree it is a concern though if we don't understand exactly what it means.

I get it too sometimes on animated parts in shadow lods (for 12 animated selections, 4 of them return this message in rpt file,2 of it animation is rotation and 2 hide) - strange that other selections with no errors have rotation and hide animations too - so WTF?? (of course closed/sharp/nomap is checked)
