Also in regards to the PLA faction I would recommend that you look at the VME PLA Mod for their individual weapons systems for the unit as well. They are pretty well detailed and it also doesn't require CUP or TF47 Launchers. Especially since the Chinese launchers for AT and AA weapons and so different from anything else in the world.

In regards to the VME PLA- I know, people have been messaging me about it, but I won't use it unless I get permission from the author, who I tried to contact about a week before I started on the PLA faction and never heard back from. I'm still trying to contact them, but with no luck so far.

As for now, the PLA SF will remain on an Apex weapon base. The PLA do not need TF47 for AT, as they have the RPG-7 (as Type 69) as their standard AT weapon.

For a bit of fun, not categorised as [SFF], but I made Praying Mantis PMC's

DLOK37Z.jpg

vlZJfct.jpg

KJpIm4t.jpg

ne77Nzq.jpg

Faction mod that adds the 'Praying Mantis' PMC organisation from Metal Gear Solid 4.

The Faction-

Praying Mantis was a private military company that operated under the mother company Outer Heaven, run by Liquid Ocelot. They provide training for government forces, supplies and PMC protection duties. The primary weapons of Mantis are the SCAR-H/Mk17 and M4A1 carbine, with the M14 EBR in supporting roles. Standard sidearm is the M1911.

Historical Info-

At some point during the Iraq War, the Praying Mantis PMC contracted with the U.S. Government to send large amounts of its soldiers into combat zones.
In 2014, Praying Mantis was deployed in the Middle East to fight off the local militia soldiers. The reasons for the local government regime hiring them was partially due to their aforementioned experience in the Iraq War.

Support Elements-

Mantis are supported by a Marksman team due to the close range city fighting they are engaged in being too close range for full-sized sniper rifles. They have fire support and transport from a 50. Cal armed MRAP.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name MGS ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system. The Praying Mantis PMC's are an INDEP faction.

Nope, that balaclava is clipping with the face and faces are randomised in factions, but I picked American/European base to get the minimum clipping- one 1-2 of the 10+ or so possible faces can clip.

Special Operation Forces Faction that adds Russian 'Spetznaz' Forces, based on the Spetznaz 'Vympel' unit from 2012-2016. It contains a range of ground and air forces, with vehicle supports.

Historical Info-

The term 'Spetznaz' is a general catch-all that refers to all Soviet and Russian Special Forces groups. The faction is based on the Spetznaz GRU and the Spetznaz 'Vympel' units in particular.
'Vympel' Unit was formed under the command of the KGB, the Soviet intelligence forces, in 1981, and it operates internationally, outside Russia's borders. The Unit went on to fight in Afghanistan, Cuba, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Angola, Mozambique, Lebanon, as either direct combat units and a raiding force, intelligence gathering recon missions, or as military advisors in fighting against guerilla or insurgent movements.

The Faction-

Spetznaz forces in the faction are equipped with SURPAT camo, with AK-74M's as the primary rifle, with Eotech's, Kobra's and other optics. The VKSS, Magpulised SVD (Cyrus), AKMSU and the AK-12 serve in specialist roles within the faction. They are based on photographs and helmet camera footage of SURPAT wearing Spetznaz units from 2012 to mid-2016. Unlike Western special forces groups this faction has a large amount of close range subsonic weapons like the AKMSU and VKSS weapons for silent elimation of guards and sentries, or assassinations.

Specialist Elements-

The Spetznaz 'Vympel' unit have small teams of Recon Forces with supressed carbines, VKSS's and a Ghille suited sniper team. They also have a gunship-transported squad for heavily armed assaults into enemy bases or compounds.

Supports-

A Hunter-Killer Mi-48 Gunship team is available as heavy fire support, with 2 gunships operating in tandem to destroy ground targets. A T-72 BM heavily upgraded T-72 tank in Russian camo is also available, and static weapons like the KORD and AGS-30 grenade machineguns can be carried within the squads.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name RUS ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system. Russian Spetznaz is an INDEP faction.

Notes- I know the logo I have used is not Vympels, I couldn't find a good enough image of it. The 'VKSS' is what I assume the ASP-1 would be called, as it's a VSS upsized to fire VKS rounds.

The photographer is a MP, and the others are Infantry forces, who are armed with Galils, AK's and M4's, supported by the Negev.

Special Forces Faction [SFF] that contains the Army, Military Police and Army Special Forces of Kenya and the Somali Commando unit 'DANAB', meaning 'Thunder.'

The Faction-

The Kenyan Army ( Kenya Defence Force) is one of the largest in Sub-Saharan Africa, and it is often deployed as part of UN task forces internationally to other nations within the African continent for peacekeeping or combat duties. The Kenyan Army forces are equipped in British DPM pattern uniforms, with a mix of Galil's, AKM's and M4A1's as standard weapons, with the Israeli Negev as the standard machinegun. Standard sidearm is the M1911.
Both Kenyan regular Army and Military Police forces are included in the faction, as well as the Special Forces element. Based on 2012 photographs.

Historical Info-

The Kenyan armed forces can be traced back to the 1800's, when they were a British colony and forces drawn from Kenya and other African nations formed a military units against local rebels following the abolition of the slave trade in the 1890's. Kenya has since been very active in peacekeeping missions since the 1970's, deploying troops alongside UN task forces to Liberia, Mozambique, Yoguslavia, Croatia and, importantly for it's portrayal in-game, Somalia.

Specialist Elements-

The faction includes both the Kenyan Army Special Forces and the Somali DANAB commando forces. The Kenyan SF are are armed with SCAR-L's and SCAR-H's, with some Nevev machineguns and the M1911 as a standard sidearm. Based on mid-to-late 2012 photographs.

Also included is a contingent of the Somali DANAB Commando unit, based on photographs from 2010-2015. The Somali SF are equipped in Desert Tiger Stripe uniforms, with the Galil and M4A1 as primary weapons, supported by the M14 and M249 SAW. Standard sidearm is the M1911.

Supports-

Vehicle support for the faction comes from light helicopters such as the MD-500 as a scout helicopter and an AH-6 Littlebird, as well as assault boats and armored support from the aging T-34 tank, which despite being nigh-useless for conventional warfare has carved out a niche role in the support for African ground forces in counter-insurgency and guerilla warfare since 1993, when the majority of the more modern Somali armored vehicles were destroyed in fighting in Mogadishu.

Faction has full Editor, Zeus, Task Force Radio and ALiVE support (faction name KSF ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system. The African Forces are an INDEP faction.

US Combat Applications Group (CAG), also known as 'Delta Force'

Going for a Tanoan Deployment theme with them, rather than Middle East like most of my other factions.

SFF Vehicles and Weapons updated.

g6J9gLz.jpg

GH3WxBi.jpg

Added MP7 PDW.

Added mod icons.

MP7 PDW-

The MP7 is a weapon designed to be a specialised weapon that is lighter, more portable, compact and concealable than a normal infantry rifle or carbine. It also fires small, high velocity Armor Piercing rounds at a blistering rate of fire, but comes at the cost of very short effective range and little stopping power.

The MP7 has found itself a niche role within Special Forces operations for close range, compact and concealable firepower, being used for short duration, rapid raiding forces, close-range night fighting or as some emergency firepower for undercover or deep recon units, particularly the US CIA.

Thanks to Mistyronin and Zee for the donation. The current MP7 ballistics are still work-in-progress and AP rounds are not yet functional.
