enableSentences for one side only?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to see if it's possible to use

enableSentences false;
for BLUFOR but still be able to hear the OPFOR battle cries. I tried adding enableSentences false; to my player init box in the editor but it seems to behave identically to adding it universally to the init.sqf by removing all unit sounds completely.

Is anything like this possible where BLUFOR doesn't speak but OPFOR does?

Yeah that's a cool looking script I have other plans for. :)

Well I'm not sure without some extensive scripting knowledge that would help me. I mean if I knew more maybe but I was hoping for a more elegant solution such as adding enableSentences true; somewhere. Lol.

What I'm basically looking to do is be able to hear Accuracythruvolume's ISIS battle cries but not have to listen to the stupid BLUFOR units calling out everything under the sun as an "enemy" (friendly boats, friendly patrols, etc. BIS please fix this) and "out of ammo" when they have ammo and whatnot. Not only that but this is for a co-op mission and I just don't like the idea of allowing the playable units to talk when real life players will probably chat using VON.

I'm really kind of shocked adding that line to one playable unit's init box disables it for all units everywhere on the map. It's crazy it does that.

So is there really no way to enableSentences for just one side without adding a total sound overhaul script?

Again all I did was put enableSentences false; in my player init. Is it really supposed to impact all units when you do that?

You could use MRB Voice Stop mod which does what you want. Stops friendly radio chatter but you still hear enemy voices.

Does it?

One question, is it possible to keep the playerunits silent, but have the AI talking and screaming orders?

I like sneaking up on some CSAT and listening to them giving orders while they patrol or in combat.

As it is, they're just completely silent.

That's from the second page. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the request?

Does it?

In multiplayer we don't hear any commands from friendly units but do hear commands from enemy units.

Oddly enough players using OPFOR voices do create sound for BLUFOR players which is completely annoying.  When you're playing US vs Russian and in an otherwise silent game have a friendly talking in Russian and using an AK that's basically justifiable friendly fire. :)
