Need help with custom textures for OPTRE's ODST armor

Recommended Posts

So I have been working on my own custom textures for the OPTRE mod's ODST armor the past few days. Instead of retexturing I took the normal map and completely remade the textures, and then added some custom flair to make it my own. I have all the needed maps, normal, specular, gloss, and diffuse. I am clueless when it comes to getting them in game, and on the OPTRE team's models. Also I have learned that the gloss and specular maps are handled differently in ArmA 3. Could anyone possibly help me out with this? I would be greatly appreciative. For the people who love pictures:

they are not handled differently, arma just lacks any auto color balance... means you have to brighten/tone down your specular and gloss eventually, in addition to balancing the additional values for spec and specpower in the rvmat.

Best advice would be to check a vanilla smdi (spec and gloss is inside) texture for the grey value of the material you want to emulate, and use that on your spec&gloss as basetexture.

Also and also. Specular Power == Gloss
