Arma 3 Referenced Memory cannot be read

Recommended Posts

Whenever i play on a server i can stay on for 30 minutes or so until my game crashes and says referenced memory cannot be read.

I got rid of all the malware on my computer, updated the graphics card, and verified integrity of game cache.

Here is the error report:

Heres the message I get:

I would try increasing size of pagefile first, see if that helps.

Second, are you overclocking you RAM? See if the timings are right etc. And run stock clocks.

This is making my game unplayable...can't play for 5 minutes without this popping up.

I wish I knew what caused this, apparently reverting bios helped some people and I read somewhere that it is commonly caused by backround programs

Try new .exe

Performance-version.

If that doesn't help, try different memory allocators, they are in the Dll folder in Arma 3 folder.

In the launcher, Parameters, Advanced, Malloc: type in tbb4malloc_bi, for example.

do NOT touch size of pagefile, leave it system managed!!!

delete all memory allocators in dll folder or use performance version (did not test it).

seems that delete all allocators and use windows own allocator helps minimize memory crashes a little.

No point in deleting all allocators. Arma uses TBB4 by default (I think) but you can change the launch parameter to use any memory allocator, even the one that came with Windows.

From what I've heard, Win 8 & 10 has a slightly better memory allocator than 7.

"-malloc=system can be used to force using Windows allocator even when allocator dlls are present"

Has there been a viable solution for the memory read/write crashing? Back in 1.64 I managed to reduce the number of said crashes to 1 in 2-3h. I recently got back to the game, and no matter which 1.66 profiling build that I try, the game randomly crashes within 5 - 40min of joining a server. I play Exile mostly.
