Interesting thing, I was just talking to Toadie2k & BlazenChamber about .416 Barrett and .408 Cheytac. Most people think that .408 Cheytac is the worlds best extreme range round, especially with its 419 Grain bullet having a .949 G1 BC, however some German ballistics expert Laser CNC machined a solid copper mono-metal 426 Grain bullet with a muzzle velocity of 3,385 ft/s or 1,032 m/s with a G1 Ballistics Coefficient of 1.103!

 

So I decided to have some fun with this proposed data which has not yet been confirmed by Doppler RADAR testing and I plugged it into JBM's ballistics calculator with my "ArmA Atmosphere" setup, and well, they say a picture is worth a 1000 words so......

Please keep in mind that this round is HIGLY EXPERIMENTAL right now and has NOT been fully examined/tested, however if it performs as the ballistics data points through its radical LD HAACK  /Sears-HAACK profile then this is pretty much the ultimate man killing extreme range sniper round. I am currently reviewing all the data on this round and am doing extensive testing to see if it is viable for me to put in ArmA III.

Hey guys,

 

We are still working on the textures for the weapon, the scopes are wip and then hopefully we'll have a first release. Animations have been added but need tweaking and I hold my hands up to Warlord554 for all the work he's done. I asked him to help with textures, he decided to go all out and I can't thank him enough.

The textures and rifle looks fantastic!

I really like the spiral fluted bolt but LOVE the suppressor cover and that it is removable...

Sorry for the abscence guys, but I've been really busy with work and stuff so modding has pretty much stopped. 

 

I have all the files with textures and all saved, the bolt animations need tweaking, and configs etc need finishing I believe. If someone is interested please PM me but only if your going to release it and give credit were it's due.

Not that I can speak for any of them, but......... Robert Hammer has a proven track record for some great collaborations while producing quality work. However, he seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. You should really consider contacting Toadie, he produces some really quality stuff, and is a nice enough guy, I'm sure he'd give you the proper credit.

That's a damn shame. Like I said the model looks excellent and it seems more than half way done since it's all modeled, partially animated and partially config'd. I know those 3CB guys have a hefty workload with their mods but I hope they see the potential in what they were given.

Google VQI Sniper. I was interested in the Blender files for making it into sections for the disassembled model to add to my Sniper Project. It's being re-branded into S.C.O.U.T and being released as a stand-alone mod. It was absorbed into my SpookWarCom parent project a while back.

I wasn't assuming you were handing out the mod to just "anybody". But if you aren't going to finish it.... just thought I'd ask.

I did see it, but your mods seem more mission based rather than equipment, I haven't played your mods at all so I can only speculate.

The mod files have been given to 3CB, if they decide to finish it they will let me know, other than that I'm not handing it out to every Tom, Dick and Harry who just wants it. I have made plenty of requests from members of the community to help get it finished and got no's from most and others just plainly ignore the request completely. 3CB have a good track record when it comes to weapons and equipment and so I asked, they said they would take a look. 

 

When I hear back, so will you.
