Uploading Mission to Server

I just rented my own server from gameservers.com. I'm trying to upload custom missions to it, so me and my buddies can play. However, after I upload it and go in game, when I try loading the mission it starts to load and then it goes back to the default mission lobby. It doesn't give any error messages. I've tried making a test mission to see if I'm doing something wrong when making the missions, so I just put down a playable unit on a map and uploaded it but it did the same thing. So I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong when I'm uploading the mission. I've tested them all out off the server and they run fine. It's been really frustrating, so if anyone can help that would be great!

Do the missions require any mods?

Yes, but I have all the mods installed and uploaded to the server.

And are you making sure those mods on the server are actually being run for your mission?

I'm not sure honestly. How would I check that?

Well it depends on what control you have. If it's that weird control panel website then I think there's a page that lets you specify what mods to load or if this is on a custom server that you're running, use TADST. It's been a while since I've managed servers so I can't remember the details but I remember having this issue and I'm sure it was related to mods.

I'm using a rented server from gameservers.com. All I know is we use FTP to upload all files to the server.

If you have the information to access (hostname, port, username, password) your FTP through a program, I use WinSCP (free) and it works fine for my server.  I don't use GameServers though.  Also, make sure you enable the mods on your server via init command.

 

In other words, make sure there's a command somewhere being run on your server (might have to get a GameServers support guy to give you access) such as: -mod=@CBA_A3;@task_force_radio;@AllinArmATerrainPack;

So i'm pretty sure I figured out why it wasn't working. I havn't been changing the server config file after I upload a mission.

Okay how do I change the server.cfg file? It's not letting me upload the changed version with my updated mission name in it?

Most control panels allow you to edit the server.cfg directly rather than having to upload a changed version... if not you'll have to contact your provider's support.
