Vegetation not appearing on map

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

So I've got my map working ingame which is all good, and I can see roads/buildings on the map fine.

However I cannot see trees on the map, as shown in these pictures: http://imgur.com/a/Jqmr2

Any idea as to why this is? I pack the pbo using pboProject.

I am not sure why this happens, but you can try to look for this value in your config

  minTreesInForestSquare = ;

and change it to 1 or 2 or if it doesn't exist, add it as 1 or 2.

It was at 4 so I lowered it to 2 and that didn't work, so I tried 1 but that also doesn't change anything.

Hmm... This is really weird because I can see your buildings show up on the map. Do you use Addon Builder or pboProject to pack it?

I can't really think of any reason for this. You could try to ask around on the map makers skype group if nobody answers here.

Could it be the type of p3d ? type 60 and 68 show fine on my terrain, what type are your missing trees ?

TerrainBuilder will show you if you click and highlight it, top right corner.

Also do you use the free tools from Mikero or the premium ?

Just checked, they are type 60.

I use the free tools.

I know some are not supported by the free tools, Mikero knows best, hopefully he'll see this in passing.

Check other objects, see if they're also type 60 and show on the map.

Well, just checked and my buildings, objects and rocks (which do show on the map) are all type 68.

However all my vegetation (bushes & trees) are type 60.

Could that be the problem then? If so is there any way to convert them to 68 or anything?

I've no idea, I use Mikeros pro tools, it takes care of everything automagically.

You can either live without them showing, pay for the pro tools or maybe someone else has an option.

On the bright side, you found the cause :)

To successfully build a map Bis Binarise must have pre-binarised objects in the temp folder. Altho not limited to just this, it is the cause of 'missing icons' This is one of the list of reasons why you will never be able to build an island using addon builder. It is also why (most of) their tools are  useless to you, as they presume you have access to all unbinarised and all binarised objects, just like they do.

which objects to you need to copy to temp?

the answer is yes.

The subscriber version of pboPro takes care of this nonsense for you.
