A2/A2:OA Beta Patches Pre-Final Patch

Hi, goliath86! Thanks so much!!! But I found few bugs.

Commander's light of BTR-60 is turned on (without light beam) while lights is turned off: http://i.imgur.com/hL8ggRG.png (1005 kB) .

Hi Schatten and thank you for reporting! The commander's light of BTR-60 is a bug from the previous release of CorePatch. Model of BTR-60 need to be fixed in order to get the light turn on/off correctly. The same for the commander's light of BTR-90 (HQ).

For the distance of the camera in 3rd person view it is a simple config change.

The ir laser of the M4A1 HWS is a my mistake cause these rifles don't have the AN-PEQ so while adding the flashlight I've forgot to remove the IR Laser config value.

I think I will fix these bug for the next release! Thank you!

For the commander's seat in BRDM-2 I will check if I can do something ;)

Sorry I didn't catch this sooner (I had the fixed scripts in my mission folder and didn't notice until removing them).

The three scripts mentioned in my last post were updated in the warfare2.pbo in A2 addons, but not in the warfare2.pbo that is in OA's expansion\addons. The error from Init_Defense.sqf still occurs when JIP joins a Warfare mission in OA.

And again, THANK YOU for all your great work!

Hi,

 

I played with the BIS samplemodels a bit, and i frankensteined CZ805A1 and CZ805B1G1  into CZ805A1ACOG . So if you have time please check it out and if you could implement it for ACR it would be great. I can do more conversion like that.

 

I did not do textures, because i expect that original textures would be usable with that.

 

I do not know What 3D modeler you use, so i converted it to blender format, for blender is as far as i know most popular free 3D software, and i failed to export it to P3D because my copy of O2 likes to fuck me over. if you do not use Blender, let me know and i will convert it to whatever freeware format you want. I use Wings 3D

I didnt do much on this model, i just took ACOG scope form one BIS rifle, and Attached it to another BIS rifle.

Cool, mirek! Seems, needs to replace model and update config. But I don't know will patch be released, because I did some ACR patches, but its weren't released.

Hi Dwarden! I would like to fix all config (and some model) related bugs (https://dev.withsix.com/projects/cis/roadmap), but I need more time. Is it possible?

Or is it possible to do patches for stable branch of the game?

what amount of time we talk about ? will you work with Goliath on it ?

well , w/o incorporating those into CorePatch - how we can push that into OA data ? ... that's what I mean

if you have 'some fixes' somewhere which I'm not aware of, we can't use them cause I'm not informed they do exist ;)

Well, I can do it for a lot of time, because I can rewrite same code several times... So it may take time up to winter or even the new year.

The A2 and OA betas have been running great for months.  It's high time for pushing them to Stable.  I would be interested to hear goliath86's opinion on this and Schatten's idea for basically open-ended fixing of more issues.  :huh:

Not dead yet!  Not dead yet....  :o

 

I'll wrap up what was found on the SecOps Manager (SOM) and push it to goliath86 for consideration.

It should make the SOM compatible for hosted multiplayer and Warfare missions, without impacting the campaign or packaged missions that use SOM.

I can't say for DS (don't have one) but hope it might resolve issues there too.

 

@ goliath86.  I'll PM when sent.  I hope you won't be hesitant, but can't be disappointed if you are.  The write-up is huge, but gives over-detailed explanations for most things.  The proof is in the play though; I'll include a couple missions, MP and WF that use the suggested changes.

Is there any chance we could get addMagazineAmmoCargo, magazinesAmmo and magazinesAmmoFull ported to OA? Currently there is no proper way of getting the current ammo in a magazine when that magazine is in a vehicle or backpack. The only way to get the ammo of a magazine on a unit is to use gearSlotData and gearSlotAmmoCount. It would be very useful and would finally allow us to properly and persistently correctly save the magazines of a unit and object. The days of logging out and back in to refill your magazine would be over!

As far as I can see, switching the animation to the "normal" rifle animation (for the M16A2 or AK-74) should fix it.
