the hueys are well wanted, BUT we dont have the slick in unbinned form i think, and the gunships inherit stuff from it.

so we'll have to see what we can do.  it's a signature model for the mod, but right now it's too much of a time-suck to spend much time on it when we have so much more basic stuff to work on.

it has been mentioned yes. we prohibit any uploading of this mod to steam workshop. period.

their license contradicts and undermines ours, so uploading the mod to steam workshop is a direct breach of our copyright.

*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT*

 

 

 


Ever since the Alpha has been released , its found its way on to steam at least 4 times. It has also been broken apart and some partial content has been redistributed by members of the steam community.

So lets clear it up once and for all.

We will NOT EVER upload the mod to Steam.

The reason is their (Steam) license contradicts and undermines ours. Plain and simple. We have been asked by past team members to ensure that their material stays wholly and completely within the unsung, not tampered or altered in anyway except by a current member of the team as an official update or version release.

So that being said we have taken a firm stance on this. The Unsung Vietnam mod must NEVER be uploaded to steam in part or whole. Any person found uploading , deliberately tampering or redistributing the "Altered" files will be targeted and action be taken against them. No permissions will be given to any clan or individual to distribute altered unsung content publicly which also means released inside these clans or groups.

Its a shame we have to go to such great lengths to protect our work when some members of the community take it upon themselves to undo years of hard work and effort by the team. Remember we do NOT get paid for this. Its a free mod so please respect that ....

We need the community's help, if you come across someone whom has stated they have permission by us (The Unsung) to re-release altered files or have tampered with our mod in any way please let one of the Unsung team members know immediately. If you have indeed came across a pack that has unsung content in it , please take a screenshot or picture and send it to us, try and obtain the name of the person responsible so that we can follow it up.

Please help us combat this ever growing problem....

Will you be adding a map that is very carrier mission/campaign friendly? I'm planning on making a SP carrier op mission pack later on, set in the Vietnam era, using this mod.

we will be trying to port out a2 maps at some point.  Cao Bang, Lowlands and SEA are all lovely for carrier ops.

well it has taken tetet, razorback, me and EW Dark Raptor (our tech god) about ooh 72 hours so far to try to get the bravo initial build to even load in MP.

we are nearly able to run a mission.

the logs tell you nothing... or too much lol.

 

turns out modelspecial doesn't work on rocket launchers in MP - causes a CTD with no log or message.  we had to add units one at a time until the crash...

having even one binned model in your build when you bin it - it will still build it, and you can load and edit in SP editor or even host on LAN, but as soon as you try to run an MP version of your mission, you cannot even choose a player slot.

 

sorting out your items from your mags and weapons is VITAL.  So what are binoculars? are they a weapon or an item?  what about itemmap? an item yeah. so what about our siphon, kabar, radio, sharkchaser, liferaft, trapkit, flashlight battery? are they weapons ? or items? or magazines?

 

In A2 it didn't matter much if an item was in the weapons array. In A3 it kills your mod dead.

 

A3 i a temperamental bitch!

Great work. We are using the mod for our Saturday sessions at simhq and are really enjoying it.

 

Not having Huey's in Bravo isn't ideal, but we've been using Medium Utility Helicopters (easy to subscribe to on steam) just fine so no rush IMO.

 

I know you guys don't officially support the mixing of other mods with Unsung and it's at your own risk, but just to confirm for those who may care, we did test the ASR AI mod (only on the server side) during our session yesterday and it worked great. It was 100x better in the jungle as the enemy weren't headshotting us 200 yards off anymore and the VC are of such low skill by default that there dispersion is pretty big. The mod also had us getting flanked and hunted in a very immersive way. It's certainly more realistic in terms of enemy inaccuracy and their tactical movements, taking cover, etc.

you  convert tunnels as a module or terrain map as  Unsung 2.6  for tunnels  rat war?

yes this is a key issue with the jungle warfare.

 

i use a profile and a bit of mission code to set the AI accuracy down but max their skills. I will look at incorporating this into the mod in charlie.

meanwhile try my missions out and you will see the difference. you have great running battles.

von knudenbergs tunnel system will be implemented in charlie hopefully

it never had a chance to get mp tested in 2.6

this time out we have a much better testing system set up

 

razorback has also built an amazing network of tunnels in da krong map.

well, i finally managed to get onto the gameserver for testing. took us what? 72 hours from start to finish.

now we have this set up, we can add in one vehicle at a time, for testing. so another month then we will pack what is looking good and release it.

 

currently revamping pooks m113 fleet, as they had some issues in MP.

I can say already there is a stunning amount objects that can be placed in eden that are super helpful in the mod already.

 

 

Other than that I wondered if you guys have seen the issues with the m72 and its speed. When fired at a target 100m it takes about 2 seconds to reach it. Have you guys reworked this issue in the bravo release?
