I must be doing something wrong but I have been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out what it is.

Is anyone else having problems getting the artillery support from the Iowa working? I set it up like any other artillery support with a support provider linked and then the provider linked to the players support requester. I can see it in the artillery support call up menu but i cant select it to call for any shells ( its greyed out in menu). Would love for this to work so if I am doing something wrong or there is a trick let me know someone please.

Same here. Still waiting for a reply on this issue. I noticed in game that this addon shows on the map as 3 mortars and a boat. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Supercool mod but I noticed some stuff (I haven't read the posts above so perhaps the things already to debate):

# It seems not possible to enter the ship from outside; for example no ladders from water or similar and if on deck it seems not possible to enter the ships stations.

# Perhaps this is a Arma-problem in general but the when walking on deck and it's stairways and stuff the player often "hower" in that awkward Arma3-way in opposite that the surfaces are distinctive as in many other games. As I said I assume that this is a Arma3-problem. Possible to solve?

# It seems as the ship are indestructible... That's the most important thing to fix I think. And it would be nice with progressive damages; canon towers that can be blown away; local fires; taking in water where the dames has occurred and so on. More of that kind of progressive realistic damage systems I wish to see generally i Arma by the way. ;-)

Yeah and unfortunately this seems like a highly singleplayer mod. If you place the ship on the editor and test it in multiplayer, all my clients' games crashed. If you spawn it in mid-game with Zeus, the ship is invisible, until you 'delete' the ship. Deleting the ship doesn't actually delete the ship though, it removes the collision model and the ability to enter the ship but the viewmodel is still there, but then finally visible for others, yet inaccessible.

That and the ship's armour being way too high for proper usage has made me unfortunately stop using it.

That's my feedback on this.

Words cannot describe how happy I was when I saw this mod, and then even more so when I played with it and say the incredible quality. One of the greatest ARMA mods I have ever seen! :cool:

That being said, without an artillery computer function it's usefulness is relatively low. Can you please add that to this mod? If that happened, this thing would elevate to Diety status in my opinion.

do you know this ship keep crashing server when I try to spawn Multi server?

only crashing with Multi server, and also dedicated server too

@AusSnipe73, can you fix the problem with the Artillery support? It doesn't work for me and maybe you could support the vehicle with the ALiVE Combat support? It would be insane!

The USS Iowa (BB-61) was a US Navy battleship which saw service during WW2, Korea and the Gulf war.

Small point about this statement. BB-61 never participated in the Gulf war. Others of her class did (specifically USS Missouri and USS Wisconsin -- BB-63 and BB-64 respectively), but she was never repaired to operational status after the '89 explosion that disabled turret two. She was decommissioned in October of '90 only three months into Operations Desert Shield and roughly the same time before it transitioned to Desert Storm.

If you changed the quoted statement to start with "The USS Iowa (BB-61) was the lead ship in the Iowa-class of US Navy battleship which saw..."

I realize I'm being pedantic, feel free to ignore this completely.

Same. I checked my log files and it seemed to be an access violation causing the crash? No idea if that helps you at all.

Great mod, fills a huge gap in the game so please keep up the good work. Will definitely be using it if you can fix the multiplayer functionality :)

I really hope this project isn't dead. Well it probably isn't since it got into the finalists, but anyway. "The Big Stick" is a valuble asset to ArmA 3. Good luck with it, and I'm still unable to relise how to make Unit 16, or whatever the Altilery Computer slot is, I haven't played for a few months with this, I forget, anyway. I still can't figure out how to make him playable.

Your mod here is a thing of beauty.

I am trying to get it to work as Artillery support in my mission and having read this thread looks like others were having some issues.

Rydygier has this FFE artillery script/mod that would go perfectly with this baby. He started looking into it on my thread. Can take a look and see if we can work something out?

Update. Thanks to Mikey74 and Rydygier, Artillery is now fully functional using Rydygier-s FFE God of war or AISS:FOA artillery system. Discussion was on SP West to East forum.

In the meantime we try to make the Arty work; What about break off the Phalinx System and relese it as a stand alone AA for everything we can think of:We need more such stuff .(If it really works.)

Why not make it Static with a dammmage value of "1000" ,and put it on one of the big Trucks?:j:

We need to be able to defend Ports and Airports.

Awesome mod!!!! but how to destroy that ship? i have been firing  the main guns at the ship from another one for 10 minutes and it didnt take any damage. does it just take long to sink it or i need to fire at some special point... and what ammo should i use? AP or HE. Also, what weapons/vehicles will destroy it the fastest? should i use airplanes and drop bombs or rockets  or choppers are enough? or even crash my aircraft into it to blow it up? i am just curious :D

Has the mod maker dropped support for the ship? Tried using it in my unit but could only be placed down via zeus, then only person who placed it could see it, and also couldnt be deleted. Hope someone would revive this.

it can't be deleted because of too much proxy objects same thing with nimitz !
