How Do I Host a Private Server on Arma 2 OA?

Recommended Posts

Hello and Thank You for clicking on my thread. I am a new forums poster so if my "Topic" has already been answered then please re-direct me to the other post. I had searched for someone who is having the same problem as I am and have had no luck. Now I shall start my post:

My question is How can I create a Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead "private" server for I and a couple of friends to join on. After the recent Gamespy shut down May 31st I have been unable to create a "private" server, which I believe are related. I wish to create one so I can use "[MIC] Murcielago's" Shooting Range for us to test weapon ranges for DayZ Mod. I would appreciate any help and or troubleshooting guides for this. Also, I would like to apologize in case somebody has already asked this and has been answered.

As a side note I have tried to use TADST v2.6 and have found no luck. When I make a server, it makes it a LAN server. For my friends and I to play it needs to be for Internet use.

Its actually very easy.

HOST (You in this case):

1. Open port 2302 UDP in your router/firewall. (if you have no idea how to do this http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001201.htm OR google)

2. Go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and give your friends this IP.

3. Start your ARMA OA and go to Multiplayer.

4. Click NEW, fill in a Name, Password and change it to Internet. (leave port default)

5. Once you are in the mission select menu let your friends join. (see step 6)

5b. If you dont see your mission make sure you have it copied to Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\MPmissions

CLIENT (your friends in this case):

6. Start ARMA OA and go to Multiplayer.

7. Click Remote and at Adress fill in the IP your host gave you and hit OK(see step 2).

8. Server should be in the list now and joinable.

If you still fail to get this set-up you might wanna try Hamachi as Mirek stated above :)

Good luck.

Hi folks,

Its 2017 and me and my buddy are trying to play some Arma 2.

No internet servers are available.

Also he hosts with 2302 open. And I tripled checked IP.

I click remote, enter the info and no server.

Any ideas?
