:icon10: Downtown patch (1.06) has been released officially! :icon10:

Today we present you with a Release Candidate of Downtown Patch (1.06), which also includes Take On Helicopters: Rearmed. This version only works from the 1.05 patched version. We are mostly looking for showstoppers (e.g. installation errors). As opposed to previously released beta patches, this should automatically enable the merged content.

:exclamation: WARNING :eek:
This update will modify your existing game installation.
Rollback to previous version is not possible.
Upgrading to the final 1.06 patch also may not be possible.
It is recommended to back up your full installation folder and profile folder first (you can restore those before applying the final patch).
As always, use at your own risk. Thanks a lot for your support!

edit - brain not figuring out properly how to create custom launch shortcut as there is now no beta folder.

The point of this RC and the final patch is that no custom launch shortcut is needed (unless you want to add some of your own expansions of course). The merge is handled via the registry :)

You got that straight!

Well if you mean auto-load (as it's handled through registry):

The point of this RC and the final patch is that no custom launch shortcut is needed (unless you want to add some of your own expansions of course). The merge is handled via the registry :)

In that case, it's not working for me!

I am getting the right exe (1.06.92408) and I can see 'Re Armed' in the expansions menu, but I am not getting any A2 or OA content.

Here's the relevent part of my report...

Note - I have symlinked Hinds and ReArmed into my i:\mods\Arma folder (so that SixUpdater can find them with the rest of my mods).

Note 2 - I am using a Steam Installation of Arma 2 and OA on this machine.

ReArmed worked fine using the temporary launch switches (i.e refering to A2 and OA by mod switch).

Any ideas - I am probably doing something really silly!

I think what is meant is that Rearmed modfolder is loaded automatically, not that A2/OA content are loaded automatically :P

I did a quick test of the patch and it worked flawlessly on install for me..Really nice to have this "automagic". From the small test i did not find any showstoppers, tried both arma2 content in TKOH world and vice versa.

Something fishy is happening for me...

You forgot to load i:\games\Take On Helicopters, In the CO startup params :P
Us 'umans are not so great at managing these collosal startup parameter things, them launchers are :P

Lol - spotted - I am sure I mentioned earlier about doing something silly.

Worth you noting though SB as I ran each using the presets from SU - It looks like the preset for "Take on Helicopters Rearmed CO (forced)" is not including the ToH base folder. The other two (A2 forced and OA forced) do include it.

I have been doing this long enough - should have spotted it myself...

For auto detection you may not use -mod.

So either -mod and specifiy everything yourself or no -mod.

- When we fly a light military chopper in Takistan (for military mission), we hear the "civil chat". Is there a way to deactivate it?

I'm not sure but try turn off the ATC?

Shadows doesn't work in the morning and evening (around 6.30 and 17.30) only on utes and chernarus.

I do some more test and in fact, it depend of the map. With the Sud Asia map, no "civil voice chat", but with all others maps, we can hear it.

Gd'day!

Couple of things that I noticed:
The M4A1 has no recoil It displays a warning similar to the one that Scorlhov posted with regards to the Stinger.

TKOH Rearmed: (I own legitemate copies of all the mentioned products, just to avoid the 'use non pirated version' thought :) )
Although I added BAF and PMC to the load list, I only get the 'Lite' versions of it in game. Am I doing something wrong? Does TKOH:RA pick the mods directly from the Arma II directory or do I have to reinstall them into TKOH? If not, why can't I select any other mods appart from A2:OA / BAF / PMC ?

And one more thing:
A2:OA is not being saved in the mod list, meaning I have to manually click on it, restart the game to make sure it's loaded. I have to repeat this everytime I want to play.

Finally:
I learned the hard way that TKOH has quite some more hardware demand than ArmaII, so I spent the whole afternoon tweaking the graphic settings (playing around with viewdistance / shadows etc.) to get anywhere near the FPS that I'm used to. After turning on my PC this morning, I found that the menu now takes ages to load, I am talking about up to 2 minutes to get from 'single player' to 'options' and when clicking on 'controls' f.e it takes another minute before I can make any changes, has anybody an idea what's happening here? Because it wasn't like that yesterday!
