Introducing Over The Top a WW1 mod For ArmA 2

About The Mod
WW1 Mod is as the title may suggest a First World War mod for ArmA 2 Combined Operations. The mod will have meticulous amounts of research and realism put into it, We plan to create the most realistic mod of its kind yet.
The mod will also hopefully feature fully working maps with a nice mixture of realism, fun and of-course trench warfare.
The mod was started by the Decades Of Development team who had always wanted a WW1 mod but it had to be incredibly realistic.

Features Of the Mod:

10+ Tanks
5+ Aircraft
Armored cars, Trucks and even cars
Artillery
Tons of Infantry
Possibility of Horses
Custom built maps
Missions

And lots more!

Will surely check the topic from time to time too. I'm eager to see some more detailed info on the specific period/location/belligerents.

A2 engine should handle such kind of warfare quite nicely. Fingers crossed!

Wonderful!
WW1 would be different for a change. There is a WW1 mod for OFP which was pretty cool, maybe you guys can get some ideas from that if you need too.

Great news!

Ya we saw the OFP version and one of our members told us about it. I for one never played the mod nor own OFP so I can't really look in to it. Still thanks for the tip and support :D

An interesting idea for a mod. Are you planning any AI modifications for this, so that mass charges will be possible?

I have to see if I can dig up any helpfull archive links for maps etc. for you people :) Meanwhile, this may be useful:

Any idea's on how your going to deal with the trenches as of yet?
Or the act of 'going over the top' (climbing from the trench into no mans land?

I wish you the best of luck with this project and hope you do the conflict justice :)
WW1 was a awful waste of life on all fronts and the way those men died for literally inches of advance was terrible.

I really hope you convey the horror and brutal nature of the war :)

This sounds very interesting. I'm really looking forward to this. You don't happen to have any teasers for us? ;)

Don't forget to model a football so that we can have a match at no mans land in christmas 1914 :P

Keeping with my job as PR member, I have just created a FaceBook page for this mod as I did with Decades of Tiberian.

You can find the WWI page here and like it to show your support and if you like our mod and idea ^_^
