Taviana Island for ArmA 2!

Because I know this community, two screen shots aren't enough so here is the rest as I promised. Please don't mind white/floating buildings etc... this is still WIP.

I also apologise but I wont be ale to release the island by the end of this month because I still have tom buildings to place and convert from OFP, but I definitely promises the BETA will be out in December.

Did anyone ever see an Eastern European country without a statue of Lenin?

I finally finished the national museum, it looks nice just like in OFP.

What's a big city or island without a bank? I'm surprised BIS didn't make something like this on Chernarus.

This is my memorial for James "Planck" McNicoll, who passed away a while back, may he rest in peace., for all those of you who knew him I hope you appreciate this :smile: This is still WIP, the soldiers will be holding spheres in their other hand.

And finally this is the parliament house of Taviana. I don't think anyone can read the letters on top very well, they say "Lenin veliki, spasitel našeg zemlje", Slavs should be able to understand and for everyone else the translation is: "Lenin the great, saviour of our country" (Don't eat me for that :Oo: hehe) Also on the right side you can see Casino Strelka.

@Martin..i saw the last pictures you added..and i wonder..

Any of those buildings (Casino/Bank etc..) would be enterable??

They will be enterable but not in this beta because right now I have to focus on creating the actual island and getting all the buildings in to their right place, satellite and layer masks etc... This takes a long time so I don't want to waste any time by going in to building insides right now. But after I finish the beta I will definitely make most buildings enterable, also I want to see how the island performs on other computers. :smile:

Hello everyone,

Sorry for being so quiet lately but I've been very busy working on the island and here are some WIP screenshots, I won't show everything I've done so I don't spoil it but here are some teasers, hope you like them:

Seems like you're aiming at the "Closest to the real thing EVER" award, he? :)

Man, you should somehow get Marseilles77 on board, he seems to have a touch for those subtle lil' thingies like signs and phone-booths (not that I think you'd be incapable of doin' such stuff yourself)

All the best and carry on mate! Can't wait to roll some pre-90's units thru this neighbourhood! :)

Finally we will get a nice big city in A2OA,looking great and I always like when island makers are paying attention to details,not just adding a bunch of buildings randomly around and called it a village/town etc.

Here's a wacky idea,add a safehouse in the city for players to dump or store weapons/grenades.

Hope it will also support Alice and Silvie modules for that extra ambience.:)

yeah I guess this is going to become another milestone in the usermade terrain history of the ArmAverse.

It really looks like you've been working pretty hard lately.

I take it that it will be way more epic than the original OFP plan?

By epic I don't just mean detail but enterable buildings and the like?

This map looks omgtastic but please add even one enterable expensive house/villa because ArmA2 has none! I love playing cops n robs but i need a nice villa for my drug baron! This is european map so if possible an estate or nicely decorated castle would be perfect :)
