Object selection in mission editor

I don't believe I have seen this suggestion which would ease the use of the Mission editor when placing troops.

It wasn't necessary for the first OFP until the multitudes of reskinned vehicles and additional weaponry became available.

I know it isn't an innovative idea but being able to place a soldier in the mission editor and then select from available weaponry (I know simple scripts for this but still) and possibly uniforms would make the lists you end up with in the editor less daunting.

I would much prefer to place a AH-1 down and then select its paintjob and which missiles it has loaded than have to see if someone has released an addon which has a different configuration.  

Maybe highlight realistic options but keep the less likely ones there.  eg. if selecting a troop with desert uniform give all available guns as options but highlight ones normally used while in those fatigues.
