  2. Hey, I recently watched the Seal Team series. At the end of Season 2, Episode 21, they were evacuated by helicopter. But not normal. they were hanging on a rope. Have a look at it from minute 2:05: https://youtu.be/Sq6iQxhXtkQ is something like that in Arma too? In vanilla or with mods? Because that would be epic!
  3. Background I'm attempting to successfully fast-rope AI in an urban environment, which is apparently very difficult. I've already set up the helicopter with a FRIES system which works fine when used by a human of their own volition. I've done plenty of sifting through archives and people have been struggling with this for some time without a clear resolution. It would be nice to be able to make things a lot clearer here. Problems Still requires a human to use the "prepare fast rope action" Pilot does not fly low enough to successfully drop troops with their legs intact Pilot does not hover precisely where he needs to I know there seem to be issues with flyInHeight, particularly over buildings, so I'm attempting to intervene within the ACE scripts to maybe add some extra lines to really force the helicopter down. I've managed to find the deployAI.sqf script from the ACE 3 github repository, but I can't examine the operation of it much more because it references functions which I have no idea how to view. For example: [{[_this] call FUNC(deployRopes)}, _vehicle, _deployTime] call CBA_fnc_waitAndExecute; I've scanned through the entire list of functions with my addons loaded and I can't find deployRopes anywhere. With respect to preparing the fast rope system, does anyone know how I can determine what code is being executed when a human player uses this action via the ACE interaction menu? My hope is that I can find out how to trigger the same commands by script.     Help with winch mod

    Hey guys, sorry to once again bore you with amateurish questions, but here I go again I guess :/ I'm looking to create a winch and stretcher, that can be lowered down on a rope, have the casualty loaded into it via ACE3, and then the basket raised up. I'm not worried about transferring the patient from the stretcher into the helo, but I'm entirely new to scripting, and all I really know how to do is create a menu action and use it to call a certain script. What I need help with Attaching the rope to the stretcher (and spawning it on the right place in the helo in the first place). Lowering the stretcher to the casualty (ropeUnwind, perhaps?) Raising the sretcher up to the Helo once the casualty is in it. Attaching the stretcher to the helo (I presume with this attachTo) so it doesn't flail about when the Helo flies.
  5. Story A few weeks ago a buddy asked me to write a script for a helicopter to lift and transport cargo, the 'Helikopterfrachttransportskript', that finally provides the desired solution. At first I thought that there would be something out there already. However, according to his research there are no scripts or tutorials that let you have an AI helicopter reliably hovering over a cargo in ArmA 3 (having it meter-precise is imperative). This hovering and the whole process of picking up and setting down the cargo was supposed to look more realistic than just an attachTo. And so this script was written. It provides a precise hovering over the cargo, great looking attachment of the sling rope and picking up of the cargo as well as putting the load down in the same way at the target position. There are several routine integrated to avoid script errors in cases of explosions or deaths of the vehicle or AI. A description can be found inside the SQF file, how to execute the script. Have fun. Content It is a single ~250Code-Line-Big Script to let an AI controlled helicopter lift diferrent freight goods to a single destination. Purpose The aim of this script is to make it easier to lift freight goods from A to B without having to have a player pilot.
