  2. Hi, I get annoyed that after sprinting (my full sprint limit) my mercenary can instantly look down my sights and have a steady aim. Adding a unsteady effect after sprinting your full distance will make this game a little more real/realistic. What do you think? Thanks.

With a rapidly growing population and many positions yet to be filled, we are proud to finally announce that we are opening our doors to public recruitment. In our constant effort to create a realistic World War II environment in Arma 3, our unit has adopted several mods that break new boundaries in creating this environment for our members. The mods are very accessible and easy to install even to novice players and full assistance can be provided to those who have any trouble at all. The mods that we use on our servers allow us to provide an incredible depth of realism that few other units can provide. Currently our unit is composed of players with very diverse backgrounds. Some of our members are veterans of the realism/milsim community that have been in multiple historical units, in both Arma 2 and Arma 3, which aim to endure the environments of which the brave soldiers of the last great war experienced. Others in our unit are rather new to the scene, but they are greeted with open arms and training that teaches them to fight amongst the very best! Players of all experience levels are welcome to join! Perhaps you have been in realism units before, or perhaps you are looking for a change from the normal run of the mill invade and annex servers. 8. Beowulf Strategic Operations is an EU based tactical realism community that plays every Wednesday and Sunday at 20:00 UTC. You can find out more at www.beowulfso.com, or keep scrolling down for a look at what we do and how we play. We average between 20 and 30 players per-session and play every Wednesday and Sunday at 20:00 UTC. We're primarily EU based, with members from England, Finland, Denmark, the US and more. What is "Tactical Realism", and why do we enjoy it? Tactical Realism is the term best used to describe how we at Beowulf play - We aren't a conventional Milsim group who follow strict rank and procedure, nor are we a totally laid-back disorganized group of mates playing Arma together; we exist in a sweet spot, a middle-ground that we call "Tactical Realism". We don't have any present ranks or roles, and don't restrict ourselves to representing a singular force in a singular conflict - the average session may consist of two, three or even four missions in a variety of terrains or as a variety of forces. You may go from a USMC M60 Machine-gunner, deep in the jungles of Tanoa to a F/A-18F WSO supporting a Special Forces raid in Southern Sahrani - The only roles we limit are mission-critical roles, such as Piloting, where messing up could mean the end of the mission for everyone; new members can jump in as pretty much anything else available in that mission. We also provide some completely optional training in a variety of skills - If you're new to Arma 3, feel free to pop along to one of our basic induction sessions, or if you're into the real hardcore s**t, turn up to one of our advanced JTAC courses. Just remember that none of these courses are necessary, and are completely optional if you want to attend them - the same goes with our sessions too! We have no unnecessary attendance policy, and average between 20 and 30 players every session. We're a friendly bunch, especially towards new players, so if you've ever got any questions you can ask anyone in game, on steam or through our Slack chat. What mods do you use? Beowulf uses a variety of mods to enhance the Arma 3 experience. We use a variety of community-proven mods such as: -RHS: Armed Forces of the Russian Federation -RHS: United States Armed Forces -RHS: Serbian Armed Forces -RHS: Green Forces -CUP Terrains -CUP Terrains CWA -NIArms -Advanced Combat Enviroment 3 -Advanced Combat Radio Environment 2 -3CB as well as a variety of other mods that add more terrains, assets and some custom in-house assets. All of our mods are handled by our costume made mod-installer, the Beowulf Sync Utility - a lightweight tool that we hope to eventually share with the wider community. Contact Us You can find out more info at https://beowulfso.com/. If you're interested in joining us, visit https://beowulfso.com/join and send us a little bit about yourself - we'll reply with the information to join our slack chat and download the mods as soon as possible! If you want to speak to one of our members, you can message one of our members on steam - they'll be sure to answer any questions! We currently strive to raise the backbone of our unit by increasing the size of the Infantry, that being said we have a number of positions in both our Aviation, and Infantry unit's that continue to open and provide support; Such as Deep Reconnaissance, Hospital Corpsman, Radio Transmission Operators. 11. Here at 3rd Special Forces Operations, we take pride in the leadership of true Arma series Professionals. Professionalism is the core pillar of the foundation upon which we build this unit; Confidence drives the various aspects of our Brotherhood--we all want to be good, and we all want to be better than we were the week before. At the end of the day, ladies & gentlemen, what we the leadership are looking for is not perfection, but rather the desire to see oneself improve. What sets us apart from other military simulation units is that we focus on and master the basics of infantry-based combat tactics in realistic battlefield scenarios. We are not just leading a group of subordinates: we strive to lead one another as peers and uplift the unit together. To us, a team is not meant to be micro-managed, but instead, is meant to be provided a task and given the freedom to utilize the skill-sets and tools available to them to complete it in the most effective way possible. Our top priority is to accomplish the mission before us, and we will find the means to finish it no matter what it may take. If these basic principals are what you look for in a mil-sim unit, we would love to have you along for the ride. Cpt. J. Black What we want in a new join is the confidence and ready to be committed to a unit that puts hours of time so you can gain the experience you are looking for. We follow our rank structure, we have a solid event planning system, and most of all we have a full infrastructure ready to take on as many of you as possible. We are created and ran by veterans from many branches. It so happens that veterans understand the military very well and we were able to relate their experience to the arma 3rdsSFO community. So if you're ready for a Realism unit that is not going to crash like the last five you have been in, come roll casually with us on our Insurgency server and learn what is the 3rdSFO! 13. Announcing the formation of a new Arma 3 combat unit within Elite Warriors Gaming clan - Project Delta - A Milsim Ops Unit loosely based around the work of the 5th Special Forces Group Long-Range Reconnaissance unit, a precursor to MACV-SOG. Timed to coinicide with the release of Unsung Delta, we are aiming to run ops each week on Sundays, playing with Unsung, TFAR and ACE medic system. Missions will be designed to make use of a modular force - some air and armour supporting the majority on long range recon and destruction ops. Project Delta is seeking able-bodied men of all ages to rise to the challenge, and learn the ways of the jungle from the veterans in this unit who have been developing Unsung mod and running weekly ops for more than 4 years - in the dark, the rain, the heat and against massively superior enemy numbers. Supported by the long-established ~EW~ Training Team, Project Delta will teach you combat skills, teamwork, weapon and vehicle proficiency and above-all how to survive in the hostile terrain of South-East Asia circa 1965-70. REQUIREMENTS It doesn't matter your level of skill, as we can train you, but we expect you to be a reasonable team player. More military veterans are especially welcome. Patience and an aptitude for team tactics are vital. We expect you to attend relevant training sessions and ops on at least 2 Sundays /month. Suggested donation of £2 /month towards server fees. Arma 3, APEX DLC, microphone and Teamspeak Timezone is GMT (Europe) but we often play til 2am (8pm EST) on Sundays and have happy Americans in the unit BENEFITS You get to play Arma 3 with the best jungle fighters in the game We have a teaching (but not preaching) mentality, with literally years researching and playing Vietnam combat ops Informal game style and a fun clan Intense combat ops, great mission design and variations in roles Be part of the only unit who beta tests Unsung and feeds into its design. Faster white-listing for CAS aircraft on our public servers We are looking for about 15 new players to fill a wide variety of roles. If you have what it takes, please sign up on the Elite Warriors forum here or contact me on steam for a chat FURTHER INFO Our teamspeak: ts3.elite-warriors.co.uk Find out about the real Project Delta Selected Unit photo albums from the past 4 years ops Arma 3 pics Arma 2 pics
  14. 2 PARA is a new, British Realism unit based in ArmA 3. Our aim is to provide a realistic, and fun experience to all of our members through our high quality missions every Wednesday at 8pm and Saturday at 10am GMT. We use a variety of mods, such as ACE, ACRE, and a collection of British Unit and vehicle mods to allow us to emulate the parachute regiment. Why join us? Training's are typically held on a Wednesday at 8pm, although our hope is to minimise this through training videos on our YouTube channel. We will then use Wednesdays to test your knowledge through fun exercises. Missions start early on a Saturday at 10am and last for a maximum of 2 hours, allowing those of us who have part-time jobs, or events in the afternoon/evening, to still participate. Requirements We have some basic requirements we ask from people joining, but the most important is for people to be mature when we are playing: Aged 17+ Working Microphone Own Arma 3 (No DLC required) Speak English fluently Can attend trainings/missions at times above Not in another group already Willing to learn Extra Info We use highly modified and simplified British tactics to fit the game. Our main aim is to have fun. We aim to achieve this by using teamwork in an efficient and professional manner. The ranks we have are 'functional’. They only exist to fit their own function. For example, as we are only up to one section currently, there is only a need for a Cpl to lead them. We are based on the Parachute Regiment, therefore our main role in conventional warfare will be para-drops and air assaults. Whereas, in counter insurgency campaigns, we will be replicating what most modern forces do in conflicts like Afghanistan and Iraq. You do not need a specific interest in the Parachute Regiment or the British Army to join, although you will get most out of the unit if you do. If this post has managed to persuade you to sign up or at least ask a few more questions of what we can do for you, then either sign up on the website - www.2-para.uk - or, add me on Steam - razer313 Thanks for reading, hope to see you soon!

  16. Did a search and could not find an answer to this, so.... When I am aiming down a rifle sight I have clear-line-of-sight in scope cross-hairs. Then none of my hits land, only to discover they are hitting the wall in front of me, which only is only revealed in 3rd person with cross hairs. Ruins immersion and realism that line of sight is not really line of sight, and no way of knowing how much one is exposed in firefight. Is their a mod that fixes this bug/anomaly(corrects the offset), as it not something that would happen in real-life physics ? Thanks
  17. 23rd TRU is looking for a few more players for weekly special ops missions. We focus on challenging, teamwork oriented missions while taking out the boring parts that make up a true mil sim. Spots are limited but we will be hosting small recruiting missions this week in order to give players an opportunity to join us.

  24. 28th Infantry Division Realism Unit (US division) Arma 3 WW2 Realism based on Iron Front mod The 28th Infantry Division Realism Unit is a new organization based on the Iron Front mod in World War 2 of the Western front, with many fixes and custom additions, working to achieve a realistic warfare experience within Arma 3 Iron Front Modification. With a growing population and many positions yet to be filled in the unit, we are proud to finally announce that we are opening our doors to the public. Some of our members are veterans of the realism community that have been in multiple historical units, in both Arma 2 and Arma 3, which aim to endure the environments of which the brave soldiers of the last great war experienced. Others in our unit are rather new to the scene, but they are greeted with open arms and training that teaches them to fight amongst the very best! Players of all experience levels are welcome to join! With all of this said, the 28th has only just opened to the public after weeks of mod testing/fixing and base construction, and we aim to grow with time and dedication. Perhaps you have been in realism units before, or perhaps you are looking for a change from the normal run of the mill invade and annex servers. Wherever you might be coming from, we would be happy to have any and all come in for an interview or to simply learn more about the unit. For those interested in joining, please come and talk to a recruiter in our teamspeak at: 28id.dtdns.net Roll on! Edit: CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
