Will this mean that we do not have to restart Arma2 after having made changes using the in-game expansions (aka mod) manager, ie. mods can be dynamically loaded/unloaded ?

Cheers,

OP

I've seen that message too, at least once. It's most likely about battleye having caught a runtime exception (and thus prevented a crash), nothing to do with cheating. :)

While that would be SUPER AWESOME and should be looked into, I am guessing it's not that.

Did someone say this wouldn't work with Steam versions? As far as I was aware, as long as you;

1. Renamed the DLCsetup folder (to prevent Steam from regressing the install).

2. Prevented Steam from auto updating Arma2/OA/BAF/PMC.

Everything was groovy (it has been for me anyway in all previous RCs)?

Yeah, so I guess it's a feature that will not be much used. No contest for the command line technique if the loading/unloading can not be done on the fly

Campaigns don't need signatures anyway.

Campaigns don't need signatures anyway.

Then why are they showing up in the log? :)

Were is the -mod=@cwr2 (for example)??

The campaign starts exclusively with the CWR2-modification, not without!! :o

Just to confirm that the RC3 works fine in a Steam install of Combined Ops with BAF & PMC (with the precautions I listed in my previous post). I installed this over the previous RC2.

Signature check is OK (campaigns give error messages but this has been noted already).

I have manually split my installation of OA and A2 to different folders.

However the Patch installs A2 original files (Addons\** and Dta\**) to my OA folder, instead of to my A2 folder, even if my Registry entries of ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 OA point to different directories.

Could you do a quick peek into A2 OA folder, Addons\** and Dta\**

Do you have there newer modified file than A2 Original folder, Addons and Dta ?

Perhaps its an error on my side - not editing the actually used registry entries etc :)

You are correct;

My Arma 2 addons and dta folders are untouched by the patching process.

In Arma 2 operation arrowhead folder I have new entries in both the Dta and addons folder. The addons folder here looks rather strange as well. It contains lots of .bisign files but hardly any .pbo files.

The patch also updates the Arma2.exe in the Operation Arrowhead folder rather than that in the Arma 2 folder.

It has in fact totally ignored the Arma 2 folder stucture even though the registry entry for Arma 2 is set to the Arma 2 directory.
