GITS Evolution Sahrani British (modded)

ok, released today v1 of Evolution Sahrani with British Special Forces.

Contains a 50:50 mixture of woodland and desert troops and vehicles.

Features:

* All usual GITS Evolution functionality - 22 types of support, 13 side-missions, 11 cities - see briefing pdf in zip.

* British troops - first 11 players in list are desert camo/ last 11 are woodland - choose wisely at start screen.

* Ranked or unranked assortment of weapons from: RH-M4, UKF Weapons, FFAA Spanish weapons, RH-HK and RH-MG and firing range to test new guns.

* Chinook (uparmed with minigun and FFAR's), Lynx (with harpoons and Sparrows), AH64, AH1Z, UH60, F4 Phantom, 5 types of F16's, A10 and harrier (all significantly uparmed), MH6 Littlebirds

* Aircraft carrier with F4 and lynxs

* Enemy have added BMD's, Mi-28 Havoc, etc. aswell as full range of vehicles and 6 aggressive aircraft patrols

* Bradley, chenowth dune buggy, Spec-ops landrover, wmiks, Paladin, Vulcan, M113, Strykers, Linebacker

man that mi8 havioc is a piece of work. today we were ambushing a general in the passo san marco near bagango and it latched onto our landrover. i sprayed it with a full 200 round box from my minimi and it came back shooting HE rounds. i rolled out ofthe path of the rounds as they came in along the field... it got me on the next pass :(

the general didnt get away though lol

argh the m113racs and vulcan_racs both dont respawn properly and the m113_ambulance _racs leaves a nasty old wreck that wont go away. whats with that?

the fix i had already done got lost somewhere - fixed and updated

list of bugs we found:

* farps dont work FIXED

* NATO F16's do not uparm or have wepcam FIXED

* UH60racs has no mado hitch FIXED

* desert wmik doesnt respawn FIXED

* still spawn on roof occasionally

* need to move spetsnaz spawns points so they dont spawn on other side of paraiso bridge and get stuck FIXED

*In arcadia it says officer captured in cayo - this may explain why the reinforcements stop - somewhere ive mixed up the mobj1-11 city markers with the parso, somso etc reinforcement and officer makers etc FIXED

*air respawn is too fast - function doesn't work so need to maybe set it as FIXED

sleep 600+random 1200;

assassination and boat patrol missions work like a peach

next thing is to work on

to get the towns working properly - since I tried to make variable the amount of enemt based on the global diffparam variable, there seem to be

very few reinforcments,

not enough infantry defenders, and

no mechanised reinforcements

we saw one chopper and one truck reinforce paraiso and somato today and none in arcadia/ cayo

in 3 hours, we completed paraiso, somato, arcadia and cayo on foot.

it has become too easy so I'm gonna work on how to beef it up.

at least the enemy air respawn and the spetsnaz siting is all working properly now

FIXED Vulcan and M113 wouldn't respawn in unmodded version.

as per other version of evo,

FIXED HALO and T menu conflict

FIXED red markers for AA in cities

FIXED capturing POW's

FIXED T menu recruitment list for AI - includes a medic at private rank and a pilot at corporal so you can have him fly you around in apaches etc

FIXED F16 wrecks in base are now deleted

FIXED reinforcements in each city (I think - still testing)

sahrani evo now has GR4 typhoons and a red version with GRU and vilas vehicles being attacked by bradleys , F16s, F4s and GR4s (gulp!)

Was thinking about trying this until I seen I would have to be a research specialist to find the addo ons....

Is it all that hard that if you build a mission, to add all the add ons to it in a zip file? I know I am not fishing for an hour trying to find add ons because you decide to build a mission, host it but not the add ons AND the add ons original post links are dead. So if you want people to play the missions you build don't use add ons or add them to the download.

in the zip file there is a list of links for each addon required - called mods.doc

zipping them is a bad idea, because the modders will release an update as soon as you have finished uploading your 5gb of files to your host server lol then you have to remake the zip and put it up again etc. with upload speeds being so slow it's not doable. at least you get a mod list - some mission makers don't include them

edit - I just updated the file again - now has working missile cams on the typhoons, and better array of typhoonsto play with, sorted into:

Air to Air

Air to Ground

Close Air support

Multi role

Strike

Bomber

also fixed the humvees that didn't respawn

Hey eggbeast,

played some hours on the GITS server.

1. CBA version (the DL link and the mission requirement) does not match i think

2. It seems ppl have each 'stored' a different status of the mission on their PCs. Everytime somebody joined the mission reset the active city. Cleared corazul, then it went on to Obregan, upon reconnect it reset to Paraiso (without any enemies spawning though), when my brother connected it went back to Obregan etc etc.

Still fun though. When do you guys reset the Sahrani mission?

ah yeah, the objective doesn't reset, it's just it doesn't update properly on the last joiner until the next jpoiner comes in - this was fixed before so will put a repair in it.
