  1. Please let us know your thoughts on the Laws of War DLC assets (vehicles, weapons, character gear, props, etc.). Find out more about the asset production process in our OPREP on this topic. If you discover concrete issues, the most effective reporting method for us is Feedback Tracker. How do I access the assets? Main Menu: Shift + P In the DLC Content Browser, select Laws of War and explore its contents. Some assets have a TRY button that will open the asset in ... Main Menu: TUTORIALS > VIRTUAL ARSENAL (For vehicles, switch to the Garage mode at the top of the screen) Each asset category shows the appropriate DLC / mod icons behind each asset for easy identification. Use Sort by mod to make it even easier to find them. Note: in this mode you should be able to preview the assets without DLC ownership. Main Menu: EDITOR In the Asset Browser on the right, all assets are marked by the DLC / mod icon. Use Filter by mods option and select Arma 3 Laws of War. And you'll of course encounter the assets during gameplay! What assets are available?
  2. I quest it's time to plea the great god of Bohemia to actually release (read push build button) 1.78 version of Arma3 for the Linux guys... I mean after the hotfixes obviously :D but... well i don't know what else to say.
  3. From the outset the Laws of War DLC was going to focus on assets and playable content. However, there was room to enhance a few existing features relevant to the theme. A bunch of modest improvements to cluster munitions have been scattered over the past few updates (free for all players of course). Let's discuss them in this thread, and as always, please post concrete issues to Feedback Tracker. Note: expanded Community Wiki documentation is forthcoming. Most new properties are already described: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/CfgAmmo_Config_Reference https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Weapon_Config_Guidelines#Ammo_changes_on_fly_and_on_hit What changes does this cover? Added: Cluster Bombs (3 factions - see Pylon settings of aircraft) Previously only artillery cluster munitions were supported. Added: Unexploded Ordnance (3 factions x 4 triggers) Trigger types: Common: basically functions as a regular 'mine' Delayed: detonates a while after 'triggering' Tough: takes a lot of manipulation before detonating Sensitive: BOOM (even animals will set these off) These can be placed in Eden Editor, but are also randomly left behind after deploying various types of cluster munitions. The CAS module now features Bomb Strikes. Added: APERS Mine Dispenser* This means engine support for a mine that basically detonates like a sub-munition. Deployed mines can now have a randomized rotation. Various new SFX / VFX were added, as well as camera shake. The engine now supports control over sub-munition speed and ammo type randomization. * Restrictions apply for those who don’t own Arma 3 Laws of War DLC.

If we consider the upcoming update - DLC Tanks, then for me, creating the interiors (driver, commander, gunner) for armored vehicles - it would be the most welcome innovation for Arma3, which can be related to upcoming game update. Please Note. Today (v1.76) in Arma3, !only armored vehicles do not have interiors and this looks at least strange. Why such dislike for armored vehicles!? Why the player does have such a contrast in the simulation of controls of all vehicles and armor? I remember that OFP had interiors for armored vehicles and it was in 2001! I think in 2018, @BIS need to revive the old traditions, because any vehicle in Arma should have a interrior, then the player will have the same feeling from controlling all vehicles. In any case, equality it is a fair! I can imagine, that this is not a small amount of work, but such work, realy could raise the Arma3 gameplay to a new level! I want the users of Arma3 to express their thoughts about the interiors of armored vehicles, which are lacking in game. Subsequently, developers can consider this topic and draw useful conclusions.   5. I preordered the TacOps DLC and now that it has come out I am really enjoying it. However I am having trouble trying to play the Disintegration mission. Every time I try and launch it it instead plays the previous Fiat Acompli. Fiat Acompli shows that it has been completed and Disintegration point gives me an option to resume or revert - both instead launch Fiat Acompli from the beginning. If I play right through Fiat Acompli it will then continue into Disintegration point but if I save and leave for any reason, or if I try and replay it by launching from the campaign menu it goes back to the beginning of Fiat. I am not playing the developers build and my game is fully up to date. None of the other missions are giving me this problem. Thanks in Advance.

Hey guys, thought I'd start a discussion on the tac-ops DLC, as there's one on the tanks and jets one, so here's what I hope for, situational awareness, as not everyone has stereo sound, and the FOV is rather limited, I'd hope for a nice way have situational awareness in the DLC that makes it easier for a player to 'sense' what's going on around them. One idea a friend of mine and me had during discussions was a small ripple effect on the edges of the UI to show the direction something is coming from(like gunshots or vehicle noises.) Not sure how well it'd work though, but I like the idea of a way to augment a player's limited senses from having to play through a screen.
  7. Hi! I making a terrain and I want to make it the way that every user who own just only the basic Arma 3 game will be able to use my terrain. After the one of the recent game updates those users can use custom terrains containing Apex objects. But they still can't use terrains containing other not-free DLC's objects? As I understand things stand like this: users with just a basic game can use community made terrains containing DLC's objects from: Apex, Malden. And they can't if the terrain contains objects from Karts, Helicopters, Marksmen, Jets or Laws Of War. Am I right? ---- Also for those who struggling with making their own placeholders or using Mikero's dummies of Apex objects in Terrain Builder: the next game update will contain decrypted Apex objects finally: Now I want Lows Of War objects decrypted

    Premium Content Suggestion

    Playing with friends, they're often confused by what is premium and what isn't in the arsenal. I was thinking premium items could be color coded (corresponding to their CfgMod) to show what really is premium. A small line of code "isPremium = true" for example could be added to decide what is, or some other way. Amazingly high quality example: The color itself for premium weapons would be visible before selection, mind you.

    RADAR/PANEL BUG

    I do not know what is happening but now the scroll no longer appears the option to use the panel and I can only do these things by key bind the most bizarre is that with mods I can not change the range of my radar and still yes the option of the panel does not appear, can anyone help me?
  10. Hi everyone, After more than four years of post-release development, the Arma 3 team is gradually moving onto new projects here at Bohemia Interactive. This includes the development of new games, as well as the development of the technology and tools that will power our future projects. Of course, we've not yet reached the final destination on the current Arma 3 roadmap, and with Tac-Ops and Tanks DLC on the way, there's still a lot to look forward to! Beyond that, as we'll be investing our resources into the longer-term future, it means that Arma 3 Tanks will most likely be our final, official, DLC release. Of course, we'll still be supporting the Arma 3 platform with updates afterwards. However, these should not involve major changes to the game's core architecture, which also makes it less likely for such updates to cause compatibility issues, and helps us to ensure a more stable platform overall. Regardless, thanks to our dedicated community, we're convinced that Arma 3 will remain active and relevant for many more years. Yet to help Arma 3 continue its life as a constantly evolving platform, there's one other idea that we wish to pursue. Namely, we'd like to work with external development teams, including the splendid developers in our community, to publish their Arma 3 projects as third-party premium DLC on Steam. As most of you probably already know, Arma 3 Jets DLC was the first opportunity for us to become familiar with third-party development partnerships. This DLC was developed together with BRAVO ZERO ONE STUDIOS (B01) - an external team led by Make Arma Not War winner Joshua "Saul" Carpenter. To put it simply, B01 developed the premium assets like the new jets and carrier, while our own development team took care of the related free platform features such as the sensor overhaul. It was a very challenging, but also satisfying and successful project. And even though we don't have the resources to directly support the development of any future third-party DLC (unlike the more cross-collaborative approach to Jets DLC), the overall experience has made us confident about extending this opportunity to other external developers. Furthermore, this opportunity also connects with our belief that quality content creators, including the talented developers in our community, deserve a financial reward for their hard work - and facilitating this would eventually lead to many benefits for everyone. At the same time, we're also very keen to preserve everything that makes community content and modding such a beloved component of our series. For this reason, let us already point out a few things: We'll be looking to select and publish new projects, but also existing projects that would be able to scale up in quality/quantity as a result of being published as a premium DLC. However, we'll always insist that any existing free Arma 3 addons and mods remain free. In other words, third-party DLC we publish should never replace something which was previously free. Different from Arma 3's official DLC so far, this new third-party premium DLC would always be an optional installation. This means you only download the DLC data after you've purchased the third-party DLC pack - and so if you didn't purchase and install the additional content, you wouldn't see it listed in Arma 3's main menu or in the Editor's content browser. As mentioned earlier, we'll not be able to offer development support for third-party DLC. However, we will provide guidelines on technical and quality requirements, assist with the Quality Assurance process, help with promotion and deliver the tools for mastering. Lastly, we know from experience how difficult it can be to bring a project to completion. With that in mind, we currently anticipate that probably only a few third-party premium DLC packs will get published each year. Our intention is to ensure a steady flow of exciting new Arma 3 content over the next few years, while also making sure not to clutter the game with an excessive amount of premium DLC. For now, we're mostly looking to get the ball rolling by inviting those who are interested in a collaboration to send us their DLC proposal. To do so, please send us your pitch (which should already include a working in-game prototype delivered as an Arma 3 mod) to businessdevelopment@bistudio.com. After we've evaluated your concept and if we see potential, we can start discussing the details of the agreement, the development schedule, and anything else that might be relevant to your project. All in all, we know you'll have many more questions, and quite honestly, we might not have all the answers just yet. We're currently in the process of formulating the basic guidelines, and forming the team of people who will be guiding the entire process. We'll probably also be making some mistakes and all be learning as we go. However, in the end, our ambition is straightforward and clear: to establish a third-party publishing framework which benefits our content creators, our players, and our longer-term future. In the meantime, if you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns, we welcome you to share them with us. Thank you for your interest - we'll keep you informed as things progress!

  12. Hello folks, Have you tried the latest 'Rule of War' DLC? If not, you should try it. It's awesome! Detailed and fun new features, well-narrated mindful campaign which shows you how cruel the reality of war is. Through playing the campaign, you may capture the sense of consequence which comes from what you ordinary do in the game. Also, Bohemia should definitely receive reputation for tackling such a difficult issues. In an interview of ICRC, they tried to contact to many game companies but only Bohemia responds to their offer of collaboration to weaving jus in bello into commercial game product. Therefore, put aside the donation for the committee, I am confident that ICRC reached their initial purpose,let game players be familiar to rules of war without 'academic lectures'. So, the three parties, players, BI and ICRC must be satisfied with accomplishment of the DLC at the same time. This is marvelous. ....Then, so what? In the end of the day, the number of casualties in Syria or Yemen or other places of severe conflict has been reduced thanks to the DLC? It must be no because game player is not a type of person who kills innocent people in real world nor faithful advocator of anti-personnel land mines. Again, DLC itself is awesome. But ICRC would make mistake if they think somewhat to change the reality have been done.

    Doubt with the dlc

    I just bought the dlc, the problem is that when I enter the game as I normally would, I go to the map editor and try to pilot a helicopter tells me that I have to acquire the dlc and active it in steam, Valid with this account? Or do I have to log in with the Steam account? PS: I use google translate. I only speak Spanish.

    Jets DLC Tournament

    I've been practicing my flight skills with the Jets DLC recently and realized that there's not much practical use for the Jets assets outside of milsim and the occasional scenario (that i can think of), so i thought it might be kind of fun to go head on with another pilot, however I don't have any active friends who own the Jets DLC. So here's my proposal, I host a server and hold some sort of tournament. I haven't ironed out how it would work yet which is partially why I made this post, as well as to see if anyone would be interested. Some things that need to be worked out are whether it would be 1v1 matches or Team Matches, how many rounds would be held per each competitor, how the jets would be chosen, etc. So i've set up a little poll to determine how the tournament would be structured and it can be found here. If you have anything to add, or want to help set it up please comment, if you want to compete simply join this steam group. If the poll ends up selecting teams the teams will be assembled at random, though they can have certain members upon special request if you want to go into it with your friends or something. There won't be any reward for winning as i'm broke af, however I do plan on recording the whole thing and uploading it onto my tiny YT channel so that could be considered a small amount of publicity for the winner. I'll update this post with dates, and poll results however a majority of the planning will take place in the steam group. Edit : There may be a reward depending on how many victors there are (there can be multiple victors if teams are chosen) and if there're enough games to go around.

    Launcher server fiters

    Hello, i wanted to play multiplayer on public server and meet serious limitation - every server have restricted access beacuse of required DLC. I didnt find ANY game without required DLC i do not own, so is there possible to add filter of required DLC's, like you can mark what DLC could be required?

    Jet's DLC Balancing REQUIRED

    As of recent I haven't really spoken up about this but there is a major problem with the current missile system for helicopters and their survivability. The main issue's relate to the MH-9 HummingBird and main blufor choppers. The main balance issue that came with the Jets DLC was the power of just the infantry AA launchers. They currently will only need 1 shot from the launcher to destroy a HummingBird. This is a major issue because you will have absolutely no warning and you might just explode. This could kill up to 7 people instantly. This makes a pilot like me who uses the thing every often and has learned how to land after being crippled before the update. The point here is that if it is a 1 shot there should at least be a warning or no warning but then at least will take more than 1 shot. You might say its unrealistic but then when you think about it, it is. This is not real life. This is a game where you try balance fun over realism and this is where I'd say the fun aspect needs to be increased for the chopper pilot who has spent hours and hours flying and is then just taken out by an absolute noob who has around 5 hours in the game who knows how to press T and click.

    Why isnt my DLC working?

    Hi New player, bought all DLC but it wont let me use them, have been searching this forum and others but cant get it, they say installed on steam but wont let me use in any way in the game? cheers and sorry if this gets asked alot.
  23. Something that has been pissing me off since the launch of Apex is the ghillie suits. Nothing wrong with how they look, quite the contrary the look amazing but because I suppose they are the ghillie suit from the marksmen dlc but retextured people that own Apex but not the markmsen dlc get this little premium icon at the bottom right: I don't think it should be like that since this is the ghillie suit from Apex and since I own apex I shouldn't be getting such crap on my screen every now and then. It's even worse when you try to do a cinematic for the armachinima awards contest since you can't record anything in first person due to that shit. Bohemia please fix? :(

    i purchased jets dlc a week ago, and whenever i play KOTH it keeps showing ads on my screen, the DLC is installed on steam, and its enabled, its a pain in the ass, and whenever i try to ride one of the dlc helicopters it says that i must buy the JETS DLC, but i already bought it, whats the probelm? any help?
