Arma 3: Community wishes & ideas- DISCUSSION

With the release of the Jets DLC, here's a couple things I'd like to see added to aircraft in the game: -Autopilots for orbit and leveling. This would help immensely for using the TGP, and man a gunship without a full crew. And speaking of the TGP... -Pitch indicator in addition to roll while using TGP. Kinda odd that its missing, but it needs it. -Have drone commands (and the hypothetical level/orbit autopilot) fly ASL instead of following the terrain. Pretty annoying trying to mark targets and getting lurched around and the camera flipped over because the UAV is following mountains 1500 meters below. -Implement dynamic loadouts outside the editor and scripting. At least put it in Zeus. And speaking of Zeus... -Expand waypoints for aircraft in Zeus. Loiter commands in particular would be nice.

Sorry if this has already been asked, I've been out of Arma for awhile. In one of the updates, the vanilla jets were given crosshairs for their bombs so they could be semi-accurately dropped without just dumbfiring. Is that something that's going to be added to the USAF mod planes?
  3. I'm trying to set up a helicopter-centric scenario. What I want to do at the start is have the squadron secure an LZ. 2 Ghost Hawks orbit the area until they and 2 AH-9s have cleared out all OPFOR, at which point they land and drop off their troops. The way its currently set up, I have Loiter waypoints for the transports and Seek and Destroy waypoints for the attack helicopters. I placed an "OPFOR Not Present" trigger volume on the LZ, then set waypoint activation for Transport Unload waypoints to that trigger. However, they completely skip over the Loiter waypoint and go straight to Transport Unload, even if OPFOR are still alive in the trigger volume. I've tried arranging the waypoints and triggers differently, but the only different result I ever get is them waiting in place instead of orbiting. I'm out of ideas, so how can I set up the scenario to play out how I want it to?

Hi, so, noob here with a noob question, about the AC-130. When I place it, some of the crew, who I assume are meant to be the copilot and TV operator, aren't placed in the aircraft. The best I can do to get them in is to spawn as pilot, order one in as copilot, move to the TV seat manually, and have the last straggler replace me as pilot. If I try to place them in, it says there's no room in the vehicle. I've tried all the MoveIn- commands, to no avail. Is there a workaround or fix for this? I'm trying to set up a small coop scenario where an AC-130 provides covering fire for a squad on the ground. The AC-130's movements are scripted (it'll have a loiter point either directly on the squad leader or static points, depending on the size of the mission), so the orbit script won't be used, and I only want a player to control TV operator and manually swap between the gun seats. All else fails, I can just replace the AC-130 with a drone, but where's the fun in that? And I know I'm late to the party, but I'm sad you scrapped the F-15 and B-52. Still a beyond awesome mod, though. EDIT: Scratch that. After further experimentation, it seems that only the pilot can swap between all seats at will, probably by design. I'll just have to put the player in the pilot seat. Still worth looking into, though.
  5. I'm open to being a pilot. Fairly useless in any form of frontline ground combat. Though I'm fairly new to Arma, I've done extensive training in the Armory, and have years of experience in various flight simulators, including X-Plane, FSX, Ace Combat, Heroes of the Pacific, and being a 3-year Top Gun champion in military-grade simulator cockpits. My main specialty is being a strike pilot, though I could do well enough as a fighter, transport, or helicopter pilot. Under no circumstances will I fly an Su-25, though. Also willing to man artillery. I'm up for either PvP or PvE. Preferred contact is email (flyingpenguin117@hotmail.com), or PM here.
