  1. Fantastic to see this thread again! Couldn't quite see the menus, is it possible to add objects to the lists you've define (I think we've covered this before). Inside and outside building decoration would be nice, stone supports etc? (If models already in-game). Glad to see you back again and looking forward to a trying it out! BSW

    Your addon contains my modified Rvmat. As you have haven't included everything you've probably noticed that the faces revert to dull colours upon injury. Thanks for the thanks, but it would have been nice to have been asked. BSW

Hi all, Some folks have been having trouble correctly viewing their lovingly crafted custom faces, (black turned brown, over-glossy, washed-out) Hopefully this Arma 3 mod should enable custom face colours to work better. NOT perfect, it's more of a workaround than a fix, via a custom rvmat. I've edited the characters_f config slightly and tried to cut out as much unneeded stuff as I could, but managed to break it more often than not, but it's current state is working. Default white arms/legs cover up the blue, still unsure of how to name the Hands+Legs in the profile dir. One solution would be to link textureHL to the profile dir in CfgFaces, like custom faces are, but I 'think' that the path to profile is perhaps hard-coded in the .exe? Three before/after shots. Neither available for download. Please note, faces need to be resized to under 100kb. Load face into Texview2 and save as face.paa and place into your Arma3 profiles dir. I'm going to update this as much as possible and hopefully get it signed for MP use until a proper rvmat for custom faces is provided officially.     My badly written rvmat mod sorted all that out. Sadly only for nvidia card owners. All it required was a new rvmat for custom faces. Really easy problem to fix, can't understand why it hasnt been fixed by BI before. BSW
  7. Cheers for the info NM, I'll see if I can do a quick wall/pillar knock up, probably in Sketchup (easy dimensions) then use something more serious for uvmapping and texturing. Not promising anything great or quick, but hope to provide a sample model for others to use to practice on and perhaps post some examples for you. I'm guessing the wall can be as low as 6 faces? Probably one of the easiest ways to work it out is to open the .pbo, eg, Air_f.pbo ( I use pbomanager) and extract the config.bin file then use Unrap to change the .bin into a readable and editable .cpp file. It should all become a little clearer from there. If you de-pbo my ZFG addon (link in sig.) you'll get some extra help from those configs. BSW
  9. I'm struggling to find words to congratulate you enough! This is a fantastic looking structure, (as are all of them!). I'm pretty much driven speechless by the quality, but feel the need to post to let you know how much I love them as a simple OMFG reply is often frowned upon by moderators :D Keep up the fantastic work, can't wait to explore these under the light of a full moon and a nice mist.   10. Could you possibly supply us modders with some dimensions of various objects such as walls (Height,Width,Length), and corner fixtures, poles or cubed (Diameter and Height). It shouldn't then be too difficult for someone to create examples for you to test. I'll have a bash at anything! Readers of this thread can then post pics of their work and you can take your pick. Gives amateurs like me a bit of a practice modelling and texturing, and also gives you access to assets to freely use. More than welcome to help out in any way. Keep up the great work. BSW
  11. Same reply as everyone else mostly, it's a shame to pack it in after learning the ropes and producing some great and fun mods. Hoping for a change of heart/mind. Come on back and carry on with the solo modding, making things that are fun, for yourself, then letting the community loose with them. :D C'mon soldier, were almost through basic training, dont jack it in now! Hi all, Just wanted to post a piccie for anyone who's interested in having a slightly tongue-in-cheek PMC units addon :D ATM it's just a camo pilot coveralls retex with ZFG logo in a back-of-jacket stylee and a sans-camo version of the standard BLUFOR soldier uniform with chest patch and reverse readable Altis/Stratis arm patches.   13. Hmmm. Tried to replicate it but couldn't, ran mod-less (apart from zfg) and all seems well. Have you tried verifying your game cache through steam? AFAIK, my mod only contains config.cpp(s) as it's un-binarized. So perhaps the error is elsewhere? Anyone else watching this thread having the same problem? Please let me know. *edit* for above edit, Thanks!!! I agree, the green overlay makes the camo more camo :D. Lets build some story into this... I guess these skins are sort of 'show' ZFG livery, a big in-your-face advertisement for the Company, used at shows and demos and probably frowned upon by the more professional PMCs out there. Which then gives us reason to create a more understated and environmentally blending camo variants!   14. Nooooo! I'm loving the way the light and shadows are cast through the joints, looks very nice indeed. Probably looks even better at night with the moonlight shining through. Imagine seeing those shadows, cast upon the floor, THEN, a figure running by outside, glimpsed through the cracks in the wood, quickly casting his shadow across your floor and scaring the life half out of you as you empty a mag into the door. Did you get him? Is he still outside? Keep watching the shadows :D BSW

Can the scripts be altered to include placement of standard Arma3 props, buildings, walls etc. That would give us a working 3D Editor!, (provided we can save, sure it's possible). I have a desperate need to create multi level MP deathmatch maps but just cba with the current 2d nor 3d editor. Great work! BSW

    41 here. Been gaming since I got a Grandstand console with Pong for chrimbo 35? years ago and have no plans on stopping :D You're about the same age as my Dad, so it's nice to meet someone that age who can actually USE a computer. Dad seems to have the memory of a goldfish with technology and i always have to follow the word Spacebar with, 'the long one at the bottom' or he will swear blind his computer hasn't got one of those! Same story with the enter key. Sigh. BSW
  19. Dont bother with O2. Use the existing textures and edit those. Carefully choose logo design and placement. Instead of text, try using a symmetrical logo. Download my ZFG addon, contains a retexture of every heli so you can take a look where i put text and stuff. BSW

It's surprising how much a landscapes feel can be changed just by adding some sinister towers and making the weather more 'english'. ;) I'm 99% sure you will have, but have you seen the new Misery 2.0 mod for C.O.P.? :) Released tomorrow.     replacement for rocks/stones - possible?

    I think you may need someone with a LOT more scripting experience than me, I'm quite the noob. I had that short crack at it then gave up. I'm a numpty for doing the textures first (the fun part) and leaving the script till last, not realising the rocks config was nigh on useless. Try and keep the thread going, I'm sure someone out there knows the answer, maybe like I said, the config ref. for rocks is in a different .pbo to what the textures are (rocks_f). I think there's also a recent addon that unlocks a lot of editor stuff and some of them are rocks, but whether they are the 'coastal' rocks or normal land ones I dunno. Maybe that can shine a little light on it? BSW
  22. Another quick little update to show you 2 helmet retextures, one green and scratched, the other camo, also scratched and worn. Also why not have a little play around with what I've done so far. This is incomplete and unfinished but I'd be interested to see some shots of ZFG in operation :D Download my addon at - http://www.multiupload.nl/FH9NT4TL35 Zip contains @ZFG folder, use as is or drag into your mod folder of choice. Pbo'd but not binarized, you're welcome to modify the configs and create missions using the mod. Retextures by myself using various tools, plugins and original game textures. Additional units and vehicles are found under Side - Independent, Faction - Zero Fox Gryphon in the editor. So far there's a RangeMaster re-skin, 2 operatives and a pilot, 1 offroad van, 3 MRAPs (both turrets and turretless), 5 helis and an APC. Remember, it's not finished but have fun!     replacement for rocks/stones - possible?

    I had a crack at it last night after reading your post and having a look at the rocks around the island. I agree with you that they dont look right. They're a bit over-bright and far too 'clean' looking. So, I unpacked rocks_f and altered the sharp rock+moss+moss top textures, making them darker and more 'sea-worn'. Great so far. Then I looked at the config file in rocks_f and it's...just about empty. No visible way of altering it to direct the game to look at modded textures. So I'm guessing the config that needs to be edited is in map_stratis.pbo perhaps or something similar. Pretty sure it can be done, and made to look better than vanilla rocks. I'll keep looking into it as it's a bit of a challenge :D *Edit for NK info...Arma 2 rocks here :D http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=11601 although these are importable rocks and not mods of existing map ones** BSW
  24. Just a small update of a couple of screenshots. I'm still working on this...slowly. Came across a problem with modding the standard uniform that uses the underwear t-shirt, got a good idea how to fix it but may have to ask for a dig out from Pomigit. Although I'm adding these bits and bobs as an independent force I've also been trying to get the game to use them as default with varying degrees of success. Nice night shot. Another chopper reskin And a APC? Tank thingy I know the logo is all 'in your face' and the camo isn't really realistic, but I suppose that's the direction it's heading! I'm thinking something Action Man-esque/1970's-80's cartoons and comics. BSW
  25. The FC3 Editor is even a SIMPLIFIED version of the Cryengine editor which has more awesomesauce added. And getting models into it is a doddle too. A3s 3D Editor has potential, but the interface is even worse than the 2D one. User friendly it is not. I think the closest I've come to decent building was that addon that Mondkalb made for A2?, where you could lay down doors and walls and build stuff to a limited degree in person, in game. Having a massive hanger door at each end of Pobeda Dam is a blast :D. So, there's your answer I think! Kindly ask him to rewrite that addon, (which I think is based on a Arma2 construction module or something). It would be amazing to be able to lay down buildings/walls/props and build a clan HQ or a multiplayer Deathmatch game location made from buildings, stairways, wooden walkways and such. And be able to save all the locations without having to resort to text positioning and guesswork. BSW
