  1. I was playing around with the hook, which I hope you can command all mantas to use in the final, when I noticed something odd. When I dropped over water no matter how high the walrus would be undamaged, though apparently it did destroy hacking modules. I could accept this since space age carrier and robot war-tank maybe they overcame the solidity of water. But the odd thing is, the same stuff happened on land. No matter how high or horizontal velocity the walrus suffered no ill effect when smacking into land. I'm not sure how realistic I want the water to be, but land was definitely the immersion breaker. Is this a bug or glitch or actually intended? Oh, and try the water with the walrus first person pov, the drop and underwater bit is awesome. :)
  2. Personally I love the game, the combat on the islands is fun and tactical...but the naval isn't. I don't know what that enemy carrier is packing, but even on the weakest setting my ship is limping while the enemy carrier is sailing happily away. If I had target-able hardpoints (main cannon, engines, aa guns especially) It would be a lot better. Using a manta to fire plasma at the engines to slow down the carrier and maybe using walrus tanks for the guns. I also just spent the last 15 chasing the enemy carrier down because it was managing to just stay out of my radar. Because of this I would also ask for a way to boost the vehicle's (manta/walrus) speed, maybe at twice the energy consumption. Another might be to allow the repair gun to speed up the recovery of your carrier after a bad scrape. Like I said, the land combat isn't bad and quite fun, but the naval combat is...well even at 0% strength the enemy carrier just whooped me even without mantas or walrus support. I don't think it needs to be toned down per say, but if there is currently a way to target specific points i'm missing it. If it isn't and it was added it would awesome to systematically take on this monster of a ship.

    Only 2 units?

Well keep in mind that they have said that you can modify and customize those two units. In the trailer and even screen shots you can see the walrus with different weaponry. Depending on what they put into the final build you might be able to put together some crazy stuff. Maybe make that mantra be fire support on this sortie and maybe a scout the next. Also looking at the pics of the carrier itself, it looks like maybe helicopter like craft might be added later, or that helipad in the back might just be for show.
  4. Well it seems avg was running in the background and is grabbing the game files for some reason. Shutting down the processes manually allowed the game to start. Now the only problem I am having is graphically. I can see everything long distence just fine but getting close causes them to go invisible. What is weird is shooting terrain with the walrus cannon or the plasma cannon causes the terrain to reappear while the explosion animation plays but then it disappears again. So first person, at the moment, is useless. Other then that it plays quite well with no problems; maybe the next beta will fix the problem if others have had it. If not my specs are: Intel® Core 2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz Ram 3GB 32-bit Windows 7 NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
  5. I have been trying to install the Steam Beta and so far it isn't working. I'm running as administrator, 32bit windows 7, and trying to start the game says it can't read the file or that I might not have permissions. I have tried re-downloading 2 times and reinstalling as many and still no success. Anyone else having this problem or have any suggestions?
