Website: https://armadocs.purplesmoke.info/home Email: seanhe93@gmail.com DA 995 Discord: https://discord.gg/weWrB9k DA 992 Discord: https://discord.gg/jP2nX3G Introduction Detachment 995 or DA 995, a.k.a. "Specter", is a European-based ARMA 3 MilSim (military simulation) unit that operates under the Dropping Purple Smoke (DPSO) banner, a North American-based community originally established in 2013 through the game PlanetSide 2, but later on has grown its roots into ARMA 3 as well. We are the European/Middle Eastern counterpart of Detachment 992 (DA 992, a.k.a. "Phantom") which is based in the United States. After merging with DPSO and officially re-organized on June 23rd, 2020, DA 995 is the direct successor of the former international unit Task Force Wolfpack (TFWP), which itself was originally established back in September 2017. As a unit, DA 995 continues to operate on the roots of TFWP, mainly using the same schedules and time zones for the comfort of both European and Middle Eastern players - while the combat doctrine and training systems have been changed to the basis of DPSO. Technical Information Establishment Date: June 23rd, 2020 (retroactive since September 2017) Primary language: English Recruitment Status: Open DA 995 Population: 8 General DPSO Population: 24 Addons: Full list is available through our Discord server, but mainly include the DPSO custom mod/ACE/RHS/3CB Factions/ALIVE/A3U (the modpack is planned to change soon) How We Operate The gameplay style of DPSO is loosely based on ARMA 3's 2035 lore, with the aim to have operations that semi-reflect what special operations units would conduct in futuristic environments, such as covert infiltration/exfiltration, deep reconnaissance missions, HVT elimination/extraction, hostage rescue, EOD operations, HALO/HAHO and water insertions, electronic warfare, and finally sabotage missions. DPSO will rely heavily on technology, individual skills, and team work. These will not be simple missions and will test the detachments abilities with every individual operation. While the goal is to have a gameplay experience that is done at a high tactical and technical skill levels, we are a serious unit looking for quality members to take part in our missions and events. We are willing to work with anyone who has the right attitude and mindset. Also important to know is that each detachment of DPSO functions separately and will have their own operations (as per schedules and time zines). Training will be standard across all detachments, just held on different schedules, while Zeus players and pilots are a shared resource. The following list represent several major factors about DPSO and 995 as a whole: Mature group with former and present military servicemen. Using ARMA-style ranking system, but doesn't apply military discipline! Playing with 1st person only for infantry and 3rd person for vehicles. Using ACE3 and KAT advanced medical systems. Using TFAR (beta) radios as our communication system. Many opportunities to advance within the unit, from weapons specialist to training instructor and even leadership roles (aviation roles are a work in progress). Using in-house custom mod that include custom textures and patches, mission making functions, and few extra for a better gameplay experience. Dedicated servers for training, ALIVE, and joint ops. Official Events DA 995 specifically conducts three major events using the Zulu time zone (UTC+0) clock as basis; on Fridays, Sundays, and Saturdays respectively, as follows: Fridays - Training | 17:00 - 19:00 (5:00-7:00 p.m.) Saturdays - Operation | 15:00 - 18:00 (3:00-6:00 p.m.) Sundays - Training | 16:00 - 18:00 (4:00-6:00 p.m.) The reason we have two training events is to allow comfort for both European and Middle Eastern players to participate whenever they can, based on time zones and local customs or religion. Those who cannot train on Fridays, can do so on Sundays and vise versa, but there are no restrictions to participate on both events. Group Structure DPSO is portraying the fictional and elite special operations force Combat Technology Research Group (CTRG) - under the direct command of NATO - which is an important part of ARMA 3's storyline and one of the main factions. CTRG is a multi-national unit that conducts clandestine, black operations throughout the globe and broken into sub-groups, where DPSO acts as Group 99. Within the group there are several Detachments, numbered from 0 through 9: 0 = Headquarters and Support Detachments (DS) 1 through 8 = Direct Action Detachments (DA); currently active Detachments: 991 "Ghost", the HQ Detachment led by the group leader. 992 "Phantom", the NA-based Detachment. 995 "Specter", the newly established EU-based Detachment. 9 = Flight Support Detachment (currently not active) The group uses the typical ARMA ranks structure, with the group leader and detachment leaders are majors, detachment assistants are captains, and support officers are lieutenants, leaving the rest ranked from privates to sergeants - all are applied to different occupations that are ranged from weapons specialists to medics or engineers, and from basic team leaders to training instructors or even mission makers. What You Should Expect As a MilSim unit, we offer all the seriousness and methodical gameplay, but also provide fun and humor when the time allows. We are a group of players first and foremost – no need to salute or ask for permission to speak or answer with “yes, sir”, “no, sir” (or ma’am), no need to perform routine physical training, yet showing mutual respect to each other and cooperate when it is necessary. We strive to balance on the line that parts professionalism, realism and friendship, and expect from our members to be serious when the time calls for it and let loose with the jokes when it feels right. The members are our most valuable resource. Assuming a player is active, he will not stay in place for long, and those who will positively stand out will be promoted and will be allowed into exclusive occupations and act in more advanced roles. Enlistment Requirements If you wish to apply, click the following link for our application form: https://forms.gle/SqyJ793yDsBMETha9 Please note that you have the option to select which detachment you want to join. Because we currently have only two active detachments, therefore select DA 992 if you're NA based, or DA 995 if you're EU based. Basic requirements: Have a legal copy of ARMA 3, and preferably also Apex. Speak fluent or decent English. Be 16 years of age or older (players under 16 are allowed to send applications, but only mature players will be accepted). Have a functioning microphone - we need to hear you, you need to hear us. That simple. Have decent internet speed so you won't suffer too much from lags and de-syncs. Have both Discord and TeamSpeak 3 installed. Have the ability to attend at least two operations per month. Have any questions? feel free to contact us through the provided links, or right away fill and send your application form. 3. Thank you, it worked 😁
  4. In my clan we started testing out ACRE2 - lovely mod, works really well. One minor issue though is that we cannot hear a "beep" sound when transmitting through the radios. I saw videos of other clans that play with ACRE2 and they do have that sound. What is needed to be done for that to happen?

  6. Hello, In my clan we're trying to establish a dedicated server like we did in the past and it doesn't seem to work. We tried establishing the server using two different machines, several different ports, and some other settings - the system is showing that the server is running but not showing up on the multiplayer servers browser. What could be the problem?

As a small group of veteran players, we have a combined experience of about 10 years together in the tactical and combat simulations gaming, having also real life military knowledge given most of our players are ex-military or current military servicemen in various branches and roles (all are part of the Israel Defense Forces or IDF). As of March 2020, following one year of hiatus due to many personal and individual matters, we return to active duty by opening our doors and our minds internationally - we want to share our experience, vision and reality with everyone that is willing to take part. Technical Information Primary language: English Main event schedule: Saturdays, 15:00 to 18:00 (Zulu/UTC+0) Recruitment status: Open Addons: provided through our Discord server How We Operate TFWP represents a fictional multi-national special operations force under the command of NATO, operating worldwide in land, sea and air, as well focusing on depth infantry warfare using state-of-the-art equipment and vehicles. The types of mission we conduct including but not limited to: Direct-action Special reconnaissance Counter-terrorism Hostage rescue While fictional, our doctrine is mainly modeled after the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) as a common inspiration, but do not disqualify any other inspiration from different military forces. To ensure we provide the best possible experience, our small staff works very hard to create military doctrine that is built from the ground-up to establish a user-friendly gameplay environment for the unit members, to simply not only act a fictional military unit, but also provide the best of fun, humor and friendship. We share a common interest: to be players and friends first and foremost, without involving military-style behavior such as referring to senior officers as "sir" or "ma'am", not conducting early morning physical training, not saluting to each other (unless it's for certain acts), and not doing anything else that the Sergeant Major could bust your butt. Part of our player development is that we use different systems to distinguish our members by their achievements and their involvement in the unit, by using ranks structure, awards system and chain of command. Official Events The primary events in TFWP are weekly combat missions (nameless operations) that are conducted on Saturdays, between 15:00 and 18:00 using Zulu time (UTC+0). Saturday events are considered one of the sole schedules that each unit member must attend on regular basis. Between Saturdays, we dynamically conduct training sessions that either involve smaller group of individual players (i.e. basic training) or the entire unit population based on specific subjects. Besides the mandatory attendance, for the fun of it we sometimes like to conduct open-public games that non-members can attend, and these games can be changed by using various mods and other missions for diversity. Once in every three to six months, we conduct official large scale campaigns with dedicated stories that involve up to 6 missions. Our campaigns usually include combined operations (land, sea and air simultaneously) using more diversity of addons, while being played alone or with the cooperation of another unit/group/clan. Unit Structure All operations, events, doctrine, and administration are managed though four administrative components: Headquarters Branch - main component, supervising the entire unit. Training Branch - specialized in providing the best quality and investment of learning and qualifying on various subjects, from the basic gameplay mechanics to infantry combat and leadership. Operations Branch - focusing on all operational aspects including the creation of operations and campaigns, as well as the strategic and tactical structures. Development & Maintenance Branch - making sure that each foundation on the technical side of the unit is working accordingly, all day - every day. Recruitment Program To ensure all new players in the unit receive the best attention and knowledge, each new player start from the simple step of meeting the following requirements: Must speak fluent or decent English. Must be 16 years of age or older (under 16 may send applications as well, only mature players will be accepted). Must have a functioning microphone. Must have a decent internet connection. Must have both Discord and TeamSpeak 3 installed. Own authentic copies of ArmA 3 and APEX expansion (the subject of removing the APEX expansion as a requirement is still to be determined). Not allowed to be part of another ArmA 3 unit. If these requirements are met, they are followed by our recruitment program which consist three phases: Phase Alpha - filling our application form (link: https://www.tfwolfpack.com/enlist.php). Phase Bravo - attending an official recruitment interview with two staff members. Phase Charlie - pass and qualify the Basic Combat Training (BCT). Have any questions? feel free to contact us through the provided links, or right away fill and send your application form. See you on the battlefield! Display Custom Flag Insignia

We do have someone that knows coding so he will try now to make that happen. If that won't work, of course we'll ask for help once again. Thank you very much.

    Display Custom Flag Insignia

Yes, that's the idea. Sounds awesome! Also, we already have an official addon through Steam workshop we can integrate the script to so that won't be a problem 🙂

    Display Custom Flag Insignia

The first one. But, by that do you mean that each player will have his own playable unit? Because if that is the case, then that is not what I meant because we don't want to add new playable unit to the mission every time when a new player joins.

    Display Custom Flag Insignia

Yes, that I know. The insignias (not the squad.xml) can be be picked from the Arsenal, for example, but then it means that at the start of every new mission (unless determined through the mission editor), each player must enter the arsenal and choose his country flag again and again, which is not practical. If you do find a solution, I will appreciate that.
  13. Hello, to improve the visual diversity of the clan I'm part of its administration, we want to allow our members (which are all of the world) to display their country's flag on the left shoulder as a unit insignia while in-game. The idea is - if I'm not mistaken - is to create a script that automatically assign the individual player his own country flag when he joins our server/mission, instead of creating a soldier in the mission editor specifically for that player that bears the flag insignia that we determine manually. My question is if it's possible to create such thing, which I will be very glad if someone can share this information, unless there is another way far more easier. Thank you.
  14. Awesome work, guys. While the F-100s are really great, if you notice there are some labels on the textures that are misplaced compared to real life. For example: 1. The "U.S. AIRFORCE". It supposed to be lower on the front fuselage while lined with the front end of the wing, as well as written instead "U.S.AIR FORCE". 2. The two red lines in the back fuselage are supposed to be a little more back and lined with the tail. 3. The roundel should be a little bit more bigger and placed above the rear end of the wing. 4. The "RESCUE" arrow on the silver F-100s, for some reason isn't displayed on the real ones.
  15. From my understanding, UNSUNG was intended to be used as a standalone mode without other mods, due to its nature of running in its own system. I personally play UNSUNG with other mods, yes, but ones that seems not to conflict with it. If VTN conflicts with UNSUNG, which both are really heavy mods, I guess it's up to both developers to find a way to fix it, or just let it be.
