ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
iHarri replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I believe that NO one has good fps when playing heavy missions like Manhattan in SP. If anyone has good fps post a picture as a proof. Picture must be taken when there is no menu in screen. -

Maybe ArmA3 has better perfomance, hah. -

Well, some users are claiming that they have solid 60 fps with most complex campaign missions. But I don't believe that, even if they have SLI 295 cards. If they do have that kind of fps this is not CPU limited then...cpucount option is not working like it should be. -

Q9450(3.2) tested stability with Intelburntest running for 24 hours, no CTD's, no BSOD's. Nvidia 280 tested with over 10 drivers 4GB X-Fi extreme music Vista 64+SP1 Everything low=25-30 fps in campaign, everything very high=25-30 in campaign. 800*600 - 1920*1200=same 25-30. ArmAII-Mark 1920*1200: I've tried all tweaks but nothing is helping campaign fps. It's VERY STRANGE that SLI is helping fps 'cause settings/resolution don't do anything at all. -
It's strange that dual cards is running game better 'cause nothing helps fps in campaign. 800*600 all low=under 30 fps, 1920*1200 very high=same.

Just installed Win7, and FPS much lower than Vista :/ ??
iHarri replied to chlywly's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I am glad to hear that(not meant for you). Many users are barking Vista 64 and atleast in your case 7 is doing same as Vista=locked fps(feature in ArmAII, there must be somenthing wrong in game code 'cause so many users have this). I was going to do dualboot but after reading about your problem it might be that I won't install it... -
FPS No longer locked at 33 with Windows 7

It might be that now your SLI started to work normally. -

Try some campaign mission, like Manhattan. If your fps is much over that "locked" 33 it's time to install 7 for ArmA2 playing. -

I would like to know what you did :D. FPS is as good in complex campaign missions?. -
Program and/or whole computer crashes from 1.3 patch.

I did have the same kind of problem. Changed combatibly mode to -xp sp2 from Vista + disable visual themes + disable desktop composition. 1.02 was working ok, but after 1.03 not untill I changed those. Puter never freezed but I got several ctd's + crashes. -

Anyone running Vista 64 and having fps over 30(or having "sync" near 30) in campaign?
iHarri replied to iHarri's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Well, there is somekind of problem in game engine 'cause nothing will help fps. Core number=nothing, graphics settings=nothing, I have to try underclock cpu if it's still staying stable 30 fps :D. Or it's a problem with Vista 64 'cause some are saying that fps is much better with 7. -

I am too lazy to do dualboot just for one game. Everything else is working like a charm, and Vista 64 is very stable. -

Try some campaign mission.
