    "graphis explosion"

I had this problem recently, and think I have resolved it.  Choppers and large vehicles were particularly problematic for me. My system: Intel 3.4 CPU NVidia 6800 GT Pro AGP 2 MB DDR RAM Windows XP  I did the following... 1) Disable Antialiasing, Anisotropic filtering, etc. Shadows, shading and blood to zero, also. 2) Turn all settings ingame to low. However, I did find that during the game I could turn 'Object detail' up to 'high' to correct the "kaleidescope on LSD" problem.  However, then my game was unstable and would occasionally crash to desktop. 3) I used the following utilities: <ul> - Nasty File Remover <ul> - Installed this modified driver... <ul> - I modified the 'target' line of my desktop shortcut with this... "...arma.exe -maxmem=1024" <ul> - Changed my AGP aperture in my BIOS from 64MB to 128MB.  Read  this article for details and instructions. <ul> - Install this amazing utility: Riva Tuner.  I then played around to find and test my best overclock settings.  Also setup fan speed as described here. -- Played around with RivaTuner a bit, and then launched the game.  I monitored my GPU temp and memory usage, and with a further overclock tweak, have found a state where I (so far) have had no issues with the 'freaky visuals, and no longer crash to desktop.  I might be able to even gain up some in game settings a bit... I'm still playing around with it.  Still I have found settings that work for me.  So now, I will just tweak things one at a time and monitor how it affects performance. -- I should also note that after installing the optimized driver, I launched the NVidia Control Panel, and in the Manage 3D settings, I found that ArmA was among the pre-installed games.  My previous driver ('the latest' according to NVidia) did not have the game there and I had to add 'Arma.exe' manually.  I deleted this old entry, using the pre-loaded one instead.  Virtually all settings are set to 'Use Global Setting' now. I hope some of this is helpful.  I too, was told by others to upgrade my system.  No thanks, aside from ArmA, my system handles everything beautifully.  And I have priorities for my money other than upgrading my hardware for one game... even this one!!

    Queens gambit download

Both of us run XP. Anyway, my friend retried the download from Sprocket. Â He was using IE6, and there was one link specifically 'not for that browser'... which he did use. Â Last I heard, he was re-downloading the program (I recommended he move the existing one to the Recycle Bin to 'hide it' from the downloader). Â It wasn't complete and he had to go out for the evening while it was in progress. Â I'll update y'all later if I learn anything.

    Queens gambit download

A friend of mine and I just ordered Armed Assault: Queens Gambit...it worked fine for me but for him... well, I'll let him describe the problem... "I saved it on my Desktop. When the download was complete another process started telling me that it was extracting to my desktop....which was supposed to take 4 minutes...with 30 seconds left my system locked up. After restarting my system there is now a Arma QG icon on my desktop but when I click on it an error message pops up on the screen and says..Extracting failed...File is corrupt. I tried to go back to the website and redownload and it wont let me.... Please help..." Any ideas? Â We both used the 'Sprocket Downloader' interface. Â I wasn't prompted where to save my file, and it placed the ArmaQG.exe in My Documents/Sprocket. Â My 'extraction interface' only gave me percentage of progress, not a time remaining... I was using Opera as a browser; he was using IE. Â Our systems are similar in performance (roughly). Â He can't seem to re-attempt download nor complete installation... hook a brother up, somebody!

    Logitech Extreme 3D Joystick

I had similar problems, read this quaint lil' thread, and found lo and behold... I had my Logitech Rumble Pad plugged in as well. I disconnected it (ArmA was not running), ensured that the Logitech Profiler was not running, and launched ArmA (1.08). Voila! I had to config the stick in the controls to my liking, but it works fine. And flying choppers now... Vive la diference! Nice call, Maddmatt! Thank you so very much! -- And yes, I am using a Logitech Extreme 3D.
  5. Hey Bigshot, I'm a novice editor myself and don't know if I can help solve your problem entirely. A few quick thoughts though... 1) Using a setPlayable script after the mission starts... does this resolve your 'selection screen' issue (making them unviewable)? I'm curious if that is resolved for you. I would think it should work. 2) Just out of curiosity, when your two groups merge... which group's leader retains command of the merged group? Could this be part of the problem? I'm thinking if the player's group leader relinquishes command to the second group's leader that it could mess with the respawn. I don't know this for a fact, but it might mess with the group respawn function in the sense that it might be determined at the initialization and if the player's group changes along the way, they end up joining a group that was never initialized as respawnable... does that make sense? I also thought that "side" was a potential respawn setting... maybe no longer? Or maybe that isn't entirely desirable based on your mission setup. Sorry this probably didn't answer any questions... I'm hoping that you might be able to provide some info that a editing wizard could work with, or my own queries might solicit a helpful response. Peace.
