Forcing it off fixed it for me ;)

    Renaming it to arma2.exe

True, losing that much performance is something else. Could also be in a "wrong" pci-e slot.

Avarage FPS in armamark tests: 4870x2 in crossfire: 45-50 4870x2 single gpu: 30-35 280gtx: 55-60 nVidia sure got it right in ArmA. Note, these frames are much lower than actual gameplay frames, as that test is quite heavy. Avarage game fps with everything maxed, except shadows, and 1200 viewdistance, all of these combinations give pretty much v-sync capped 75fps, crossfire and 280 just being alot smoother when turning around etc. And this talk about quad cores not making any difference "Because arma uses just 1 core" is total BS. FPS in arma is very much dependant on your processor, and upgrading from dual core, no matter how high clocks it has, will provide huge FPS increases. Theres more to processors than cores and core speeds that make the difference. Bus speeds and cache sizes for one. ESPECIALLY with top end graphics cards.

My ArmA runs SLI and Crossfire just fine. FPS increases range from 20fps increase up to 40 compared to running it in single gpu mode. Fear.exe provided best FPS increase for 4870x2, 50% increase. Crysis.exe seems to work for 295. EDIT: Seems ArmA2 provides best results now that i tried it, on 4870x2 - flashing on start is gone and FPS is good. This is on 9.5 drivers. Have to try it on nvidia cards too :)

No, i'm not. Newest cards are bottlenecked by anything you can get from stores atm. Upgrading my 8800 to 280gtx did not give any FPS boost in ArmA until i upgraded my 3.2ghz x2 to 3ghz phenom 940, and performance increases were noticeable all the way to 4ghz.
  9. That chopper behaviour really ruined some of my mission plans. I hope someone comes up with something. Hmm, to another subject... How about "Safe" firemode? Accidental discharges happen and that would be realistic and nice thing to have :)
  10. Hmm.. Even if i give this cobra flyinheight 200, it will immedeatly drop its altitude and forget all about hes waypoints until all enemies he sees are dead. Same happens with ground units, units at hold waypoint start moving to any targets some other groups noticed :( Is there any way to disable some or all scripts that have to do with AI behaviour? Trying to create a mission here where controlled AI is a must, cant have them running around doing their own stuff. Transport choppers seem to work correctly, they keep their altitude etc. Managed to make a rapid moving insertion with them thanks to them actually doing what they are told to do ^^ Ofcourse its MP biased mod but still would be nice to have some control over the AI :)
  11. Hm, seems the anti-aliasing issue fixed itself after a while, nothing should be different and now its working again, very odd. Anyway, is there way to disable the scripted attack chopper behaviour? They seem to try hiding behind trees and diving on the targets but they just end up crashing into forests and tall buildings, their scripting apparently overwrites any flyinheight or waypoint mode commands. And im still hoping to find away to override other AI scripts as well, having tank drive into the sea at a HOLD waypoint just because someone saw an enemy is simply not cool :S
  12. Yes, i do use different gamename than the default windows one, clan tags and stuff. And that profile is in "ArmA other profiles". However, if i remove ace from my shortcut, it works just fine, no matter how many times i try. If i put it back, it starts disabling it again. Its very odd  -nosplash -mod=beta;dbe1;@ace = Antialias is always disabled when i launch the game, even i put it back on every time. -nosplash -mod=beta;dbe1 = Antialias is always back to normal when i launch the game. I don't see how mod could do this, but... :(
  13. Wonder if im the only one whos Antialias setting gets reset to "disabled" every time i launch arma with ace. Doesnt happen without it :O And now to the suggestions: Gamelogic to disable that new AI behaviour (they are running off from their waypoints when they hear someone shooting, when they are supposed to stay!) and to disable AI's magic ability to detect me even nobody ever saw nor heard me :S Elcan Specter to the rest of US arsenal too - love that thing! Black CARs And small adjustments to bodyarmor, rounds still seem to be a bit too effective on units with platecarriers :)
  14. 4870x2 Game runs flawlessly, high settings @ vsync capped 75fps for most times after enabling crossfire. With just 1 gpu its quite bad. However nVidia cards seem to get the same performance for less money :o

1: Your processor is bottlenecking your graphics card. 2: You might have wrong drivers. You did reinstall them correctly, right? 3: What verson of arma are you using? 4: What are your ingame settings? 5: What operating system are you on? 6: Is your bios and other drivers up to date?
