    Eden Feature Requests

Hi there. Hopefully this wasn't mentioned before 'cause I didn't really follow the conversations here... so please forgive me if someone already talked about this. But my suggestion would be to implement an option to edit the stance of units like it's possible with zeus. Maybe this could just easily be copied from there? Another thing I found out today about the eden 3d editor is that I can't place objects below 0 feet. So when it comes to trenches for example it would be very useful to be able to go below 0 feet when placing them on the ground. I'd love to have these options without the need of editing this by adding init lines. As far as my understanding goes I'd say that Eden was made to easier things and give people the ability to edit their missions much faster because of it's comfort. So this could be a small but significantly improvement imo. - Best regards -
  2. Oh my fault sorry. I'm not used to the forums. But thank you for the info. Will post my request in there.
  3. Hello there. I'd like to make a suggestion on adding a feature to the Eden 3d editor. But first things first, as far as I've tested the editor by now I really like it and wanted to just say thanks to you for finally bringing this to ARMA3. It makes things so much easier and faster while it allows us to go much more into detail when it comes to editing. A big step forward imo. Thank you. The only small thing I'm really missing is the ability to set "unit stances" like it's possible with Zeus. I'd love to have an option like this in the 3d editor. Sure the stances could be edit just by adding the init for it, but I'm pretty sure the whole concept of eden was ment to shorten and easier things. Also Zeus already has that option included. So please add this feature to the eden 3d editor! - cheers -
  4. Where should the @If be? It's in my "C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3" folder and the patches are in there, too. Everything is in the A3 folder.
  5. The folder is not shown in that picture because I scrolled down but it's definitely there. In the conversion tool I set Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA to Arma 3 path, actually I did everything the same way as in the wiki so I can tell you setup wise there are no mistakes. But like I said the strange thing is compared to the @IF folder I downloaded there are a lot of ".bisign" files in it that I do not have in my @IF folder after the conversion process. And Iron Front the game is working and it's updatet 1.05 and 1.65. Can play the game without any problems. But what confuses me is that one corrupt file showing in the steam game cache verification. I uninstalled Iron Front again yesterday and after the game was installed I did the verification of the cache again and I still get the message that one file is corrupted. But like I said in my post before, steam isn't downloading any data. I don't know what it is maybe something that has to do with GameSpy. Would be the only thing I could imagine. Otherwise somehow I doubt that all this trouble has to do with that 1 file. But I'm not the expert that's all just kinda guessing from what I have seen so far.
  6. #update# Finally managed to get the mod to work but not the usual way by conversion. I've found a forum where someone uploaded his @IF folder, downloaded it and now everything's fine. In his @IF are much more files than are in my @IF from the conversion, so there must be a problem with it. After all I think the conversion tool has it's problems with the steam version of IF but that's just my theory so far. Maybe you could add the @IF and @Lib_DLC_1 as download to your wiki page, as this is the only way to get the @IF mod to work for me I guess there are a lot more guys out there who share the same experience I made! ### Hey guys and hi Kju. I ran into problems by trying to install the IF mod for Arma 3. Trying to get this to work since a week now but whenever it comes to the IFA3 community patch 1.12 - 1.13 I get errors. No matter if I do the pw6 or manual install. No matter if I use the batch files from the wiki or doing it with the Arma 3 launcher it's allways the same. But I'll go deeper into that later. Gunter was talking to me in steam because I opened up a topic there in hope to get some help. He tried his best, big thanks again at this point to Gunter, to help and instruct me. So we did the whole process from the conversion to the installation and patching step by step together to make sure that I didn't make any mistakes there. After all we did he told me to come up here and talk to you. So now here I am and I'll give you a step by step of what I did. First things first: All my games are bought and installed through steam and are up 2 date. Arma 3 is in last stable build not in dev branch. Now what I did first was to delete everything that had to do with Arma and Iron front, and then did a new clean installation of all the games. Step by Step: Arma 2, Arma 2 OA, Arma 3 and Iron Front + DLC (I also own the british armored forces dlc but did not install it this time). Steam handles that in giving me the dlc as a lite version with low quality textures. I don't know if this is relevant to the IFA3 mod but I want to keep every possibility. After downloading a game I made sure that it's updated and started every game once as admin. When the games were installed I began to download all the files needed. Files are: @ CBA_A3 @ IFA3 2014_12_27_v10 @ IFA3SA 2014_09_29 Iron Front Conversion Tool Iron Front A3 community Patches: IFA3 1.05 - 1.12 + IFA3 1.12 - 1.13 + IF dlc 1.00 - 1.07 steam + IF dlc 1.07 - 1.08 Arma 3 Launcher Unzipped them mods and placed the @folders in my arma 3 folder @CBA, @IFA3 and @IFA3SA Conversion: Setting up my paths in the conversion tool to Iron Front location and the rest to my Arma3 folder. Left Temp to standart C: Started the conversion. 10 to 15 minutes later the window closed and a message popped up telling me "conversion success". At this point @IF and @LIB_DLC_1 folders applied to my Arma3 folder. Setting startup parameters using Arma3 Launcher: Set parameters to @CBA_A3,@IF,@LIB_DLC_1,@IFA3SA,@ifa3m,@IFA3 Now here comes the deal with the community patches. In theory I'm going to patch IFA3 1.05 - 1.12 then IFA3 1.12 - 1.13 then IF dlc 1.00 - 1.07 steam and last IF dlc 1.07 - 1.08. But the Problem is that as soon as I run patch 1.12 - 1.13 I get error messages shown in that picture.. http://i.imgur.com/2Hq9Sbo.jpg And that's not the only error message - when I click ignore I'm also getting: - baranow.layers.pbo - ironfrontarmacompatibilityaddon.pbo - if_mpmissions.pbo - ivachev_layers.pbo Because of that Gunter and I decided to try starting the game without any patching first. He gave me the @IFA3m folder that should have been applied from the patching to see what happens. Now launching the game at this point causes the error in the following picture: http://i.imgur.com/Z31YE3d.jpg After clicking ok the game starts as usual. Inside the Main screen I get this : http://i.imgur.com/GoJvdTq.jpg And here's what errors I get inside the editor: http://i.imgur.com/M8A2elx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UzVSZIz.jpg And error's I get backing out from editor: http://i.imgur.com/VBMeYDQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/J37tjTD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8FDCfcW.jpg Now at this point it doesn't matter if I apply the 1st patch 1.05 - 1.12 which runs fine without any errors, same to the 1st dlc patch. No problems there. But as soon as it comes to the 2nd patch I get the error's listed above. So what Gunter and I tried to do was to delete these files in the @IF/addons folder and replace them with Gunter's files. But that didn't even work. No matter what we were doing, I was not able to select any IF unit in the editor because there were none of them shown in the units tab, like you can see in the picture. http://i.imgur.com/lONSKGc.jpg I also tried to install IFA2 version but ran into the exact same problems. Now another curious thing we found out is that when I'm going to verify my IF's game cache in steam it tells me that I have one file corrupted and that this file would be applied. But steam isn't downloading or doing anything at this point. Just nothing happens and all I can do is click "ok" then. We both came to a point where we don't know what else we can do or what could cause that problem. I hope you can help me somehow to get this mod to work. Appreciate any help. - Emme -
