Founded in April'07 and based in the European Union, Kellys Heroes is an Armed Assault clan which focuses on team-based online play.

We have members from all around Europe, who'd like to play casual coop in a friendly and fun environment. From time to time, we organize themed events open to public.

We have our own Quad-Core Xeon Server based in UK on a 100mbit line.

On this we host;

-Dedicated Arma and Arma2 Public servers continously

-Private ArmA servers for testing or in-clan sessions

-Left4Dead server from time to time per request by members.

Kellys Heroes has launched an ArmA2 public beta server in support of Bohemia Interactive's ArmA2 Beta Build Program. The beta server will be updated as and when new public betas are released.

The Kellys Heroes ACE 2 dedicated server has now moved over to signed addons due to server crashes and high dsync and in antisipation of this we have put together a KH addon pack of the most popular and useful addons that will be allowed by players alongside the standard ACE 2 addons.

1. ASR camofaces. Unlocks BIS camofaces faces in the player profile screen.

2. FNC instant viewdistance. Alter your view distance settings anywhere anytime. Use the mouse wheel - menu to bring up a neat GUI dialog and change your distance and grass settings.

3. LandTex. Eliminates ArmA2's 'pixely' ground texture look.

4. nChat. Moves the chat box to a more readable area.

5. Object viewdistance. Increase object draw distance. Elimates 'popup'

6. SAP Clutter. Gives the grass a good cut.

7. WarFX. Nice pretty firework explosion fx.

The addon pack contains our own bisigns for the addons above that do not come packaged with public keys.

Dear Community Members using Kelly's Yoma AddonSync ACE Repository,

There are approximately 3000 of you out there !

It has been a pleasure to serve you the ACE YAS Repository. Unfortunately we are at a decision point as Kellys Heroes, whether to 1) keep the Repository Public 2) Stop it or 3) Limit it.

And it all depends on you !

I'll give you some info and you'll get the idea;

KH normal (pre-ACE) traffic was 1TB a month

KH free Bandwidth limit is 3TB

Everything over 3TB is charged to KH.

Number of people using KH YAS ACE Repository is 2890...approx 3000 people.

December bandwidth usage was 6TB (ie extra 5TB over KH normal usage and 3TB over our free limit)

There is a min of 200 GB daily traffic which ensures we hit 6TB every month now.

The overcharge for every extra 1TB over 3TB traffic is £20+VAT.

We were charged(and will be charged) more than £60 extra each month.

At Kelly's Heroes there is nothing we are gaining from this traffic and we'd like to keep it that way.

We'd like to keep supporting ACE-Mod and possibly additional selective islands/mods.

We'd like to keep an ad-free site & forum environment.

We believe it is NOT fair to ask KH members to pay for the community & ACE related extra charges.

We'd like to keep a certain level of quality in everything we do.

Now, the main question...

We have 3 options;

1) Stop & remove the KH ACE YAS Repository - This is the easiest way, we won't need your support. You will no longer be able to use KH YAS Repository to download/update ACE mod. It will be for KH members only.

2) Limit the public access to YAS Repo so that we do not exceed free 3TB traffic - Again we will not need your support but the download speed & quality will be horrible, and actually we do not want to do this. Most of you will get max-user-reached errors most of the time. It will just frustrate you and us.

3) Keep the YAS repository up with donations of these 3000 people, who continually use Kellys ACE YAS repository, covering the extra traffic cost. We as KH are happy to give our free 3TB to the use of the community but we cannot continue paying extra £s. At least 70 of you should donate £1 each month. Or 25 of you donate £3 each month.

So for this month choice is yours.

We'd like to see your donations & supports, to cover the extra traffic charges, and we'll be able to keep the ACE YAS Public as much as we can. We, as KH, always keep & post the list of donators & the donated amounts and the account balance in a transparent manner. Target is to raise £70-£80 each month to cover extra ACE traffic.

Otherwise, I am really sorry to tell you this but, if we do not receive any specific donations when we hit the 2TB mark in the month we'll need to remove the Kellys ACE-YAS repository from public access.

We cannot put this burden on the shoulders of KH Members. They've already paid an extra £60 for you. Of course you can always use other mirrors that are out there.

Kellys ArmA2 ACE Public Server will always be updated to latest and it will be accessible to all of you guys, as usual.

A good news about our bandwidth issue regarding ACE YAS Repository !!!

Thanks to two generous members of the community and KH Friend, the bandwidth issue we were having regarding Kellys ACE YAS Repository, which we were hosting for the community, is no longer and issue.

Thanks to Nat & dyneslott.com AND Whisper and their commitment to the ArmA community, the Kellys ACE YAS Repository now has two mirrors.

They will be updated to the latest ACE versions as soon as a new one is out and we will also include a community repository where you'll find community made islands and some client side effect modes most of which are in six-network.

Please join me in thanking them for offering this for Kellys, ArmA & ACE2 Community.

As KH we will continue hosting various mods/patches/files within our free 3TB bw limit.

We have had a Hard drive failure on our Raid 1 mirror and are working to get a replacement drive installed. We are limping on one HD atm. We will hosting only the one gameserver in the meantime.

This will not effect our ability to offer the YAS this week and our ACE public server will be updated at 6pm as usual.

Other ramblings

Thank you to everyone who has donated in over the last few months I cannot tell you how helpful it is to receive donations. Our server is owned and paid for by members but as you will appreciate there are often costs not factored into the normal monthly running costs such as extra bandwidth considerations (YAS!) and server hardware replacements (we've got through three hard drives in one year!. Now we have an extra failover drive for our Raid1). The donations from the public go directly towards the server up keep and without them we could not offer the 24/7 public servers that we do and have been doing for the past 3 years since ArmA1.

As a group we are always open to new members our recruitment proceedure is quite straight forward, a 2 week trial in which you wear our recruit tags and get down and dirty with our members on our public and private servers. After the 2 week period our members have an open vote and the result is determined. It works for us very well and we have recruited some excellent fellows from all around Europe over the past six months - we have three on trial right now.

If you have not visited us before do come and stop by, we encourage all players including publics to use our TS3 server (for members it's actually compulsory), no need to be shy you can just listen in if your not used to voice comms.

Lastly I just want to say a big thank you to the ArmA2 community for their excellent commitment to the game, special thanks to all the mod makers and mission makers out there and to the ACE dev team for ACE2.

I started [KH] as a little hobby three years ago because of my obsession with OFP and ArmA1/2 and thanks to the dedication of it's members it has evolved into a living breathing community all on it's own. Grats to them.

Thanks to Yoma, using YAS and adding servers are now easier than ever !!

You can now add Servers and start downloading in seconds.

1) Make sure you installed latest YAS version 1.0.57 or above. (Get it here -> http://dev-heaven.net/projects/yoma-addonsync2009/files)

2) Click to KH YAS Servers which automatically opens YAS and adds Kelly's ACE & Community Addon Repos.

3) Double click the server you want and start downloading. Its now added to your favourites list.

We've setup the Kellys ACE2-OA YAS Repo the Kellys ACE2-A2 / ACE2-OA & Community Repo Infos

Vanilla OA's new goodies are keeping us busy for the time being. Therefore we are not running ACE2 on our OA server. But we are keeping our old ACE2-ArmA2 server.

We'll have ACE2OA server after most of the implementation are done and most of the KH Members switch to OA.
