Latest ArmA2 & ArmA2:OA Press Coverage | NO discussion here!

No wonder the screens looks strange, 1280x1024 isn't 4:3, it's 5:4.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was about to post the same thing. You are right 1280x1024 is 5:4.

Aircraft Carrier.

I don't know who took those screenshots, either they are very old, or TG decided to set the graphics really low to give people a bad impression, But I agree, TG do have a grudge against BI, don't know why, maybe because they don't know the key combination to lower the players rifle to hip level. :D

Tiscali is wrong about the screens being on high. The aa is turned off, and the post processes is on and off in certain screens. THEY ARE FULL OF CRAP...

Also about the aspect ratio thing, if the crosshair is meant to be symmetrical, the whole thing should be square, which you can see it isn't by the following picture. There's a gap on the left side.

If they played it on high why is there no AA? And why does it look so different from the official shots, or even the ones Dwarden added to the Steam group which weren't on high settings? Or the video of ARMA2 where the guy played it on medium and it looked better than TG's shots? Fishy.

Yes I'm a fan of BIS' games but I do think that TG are being cocks about this. This fits in with their other material on ARMA1 & 2 where they clearly have a grudge of some kind, going so far as to lie about the game.

Lets see what the other previews say then, shall we.

It appears to be an LHA or LHD.

All the screens look pretty nice in my opinion, but it's just the water that bugs me. It looks identical to ArmA 1. Either the water hasn't changed, the graphics are on a low setting, or we're looking at a really early build of ArmA 2.

The water looks a lot better than Arma in this shot:

I don't get why Tiscali hates BI? Shouldn't they support thme since they are developers from their own country......

I'll stick with that picture.

Also, judging by the pictures on Tiscali's full preview, they've obviously set the game on a low graphics quality setting. "Washed-out" textures, "blocky" models, etc.

Your right, this aircraft vehicle that BIS showed in their dev blog look how it looks here http://games.tiscali.cz/reviews/arma-2-dojmy-z-preview-verze/img26.jpg LOW textures and details compared with this: http://www.armaholic.com/pfs.php?m=view&v=4-armory_blog2.jpg

Shame tiscali...

Thanks Mafia101. This is a Google translation of the final paragraph of their preview.

Overall me and tasting yet unfinished version of ArmA 2 shall be established nezklamali, it's still a good and honest orthodox war simulator a far cry from pug tuneloidním stříleÄkám, which are around the clouds, which is definitely good. But I would be cautious on the other hand, is exaggerated expectations, because the differences from the predecessors from the same hatchery will probably just cosmetic, although the reviews before the full game is still premature to make any definitive conclusions.

Seems they write nice (I didn't bother reading the rest), but deliberately put up poor shots knowing that most people will judge the screens. Then they go on to give the game a poor score compared to other sites... or we shall see.

incentives for the disposal, I immediately remembered the Flashpoint contradictory in this, because in the new game in the radio dialogues added unfortunately terrible!

One machine voice constantly plkal one sentence still six times in succession

I think Google is trying to say that robot-talk on the radio is still there.

Maruk, Ohara, It would be very nice to hear from you how the progress is on smoother radio voices? Has it been given up or has it just not been integrated in the game yet?

BTW, GUI size seems to be adjustable in options :)

Just one question, what's with the Taiwanese flag on the cardboard boxes?

I think that's the US Army(?) White star...don't ask me why it's there... sorry not sure if you mean the game box...but having looked closer at the boxes in games (in the screen shots) I think the answer is obvious...everything the freakin' universe is made in TAIWAN!!!!

I think since it's set in the future, they are trying to keep things fictional, but to some level contemporary too.

USS Khe Sanh, there's no such ship!

Although the USS Peleliu (LHA 5) was called Khe Sanh, but it's name got changed.

About those screenshots. Obviously not on high settings, but what about that crosshair?

I mean, seriously? It makes me want to puke.

Closest i find to the mysterious carrier were getting is maybe this one? USS PELELIU. The pic from the deck with the tugger and i think a UH-1Y gives me ARMA2 vibes.

You know you will be able to turn it off like in ArmA. :bounce3:
