What military equipment and vehicles do you want?

why can't we have a radio man in Vanilla ArmA2?

A real radio that is usable and workable. In present wars are still used.

Since ARMA II will involve USMC all I hope to see is a (reasonably) complete set of USMC weapons/vehicles/aircraft/choppers.

As for the OPFOR: (reasonably, within the possibilities) a piece for every kind of the newest russian equipment (a tank, an IFV a chopper and so on)

I don't think that fast jets like F-16 or F-22 or Su-27/33 should be included since they are too fast for a game with 40 or 80 km terrain smile_o.gif. Cargo planes like C-130, An22 are too big for the map, and you have to land them on airstrip.

However, I favor these (I know that I am going to be bitch-slapped for my wet dream):

1. Su-25/Su-25T

2. A-10

3. Harrier (please program the VTOL in it. Players should be able to land on a clear terrain)

7. Kamov Ka50

Heavy choppers can be used to carry infantry vehicles (or Tanks in worst case scenario biggrin_o.gif).

For ground vehicles:

1. M1A2

2. T-90

3. BMP-2/3

4. Bradley Fighting Vehicle

5. BRDM

6. 2S19 (ground units must designate a target before it can shell)

7. M110 howitzer (same as above)

8. Vulcan Air Defense System

9. ZSU

10. HUMVEE

11. BTR-90

what vehicles in arma2 need is a realistic targeting system and fire control system.. and to anyone whos going to say "arma2 isnt a flightsim" think about this: arma and arma2 are combat simulators.. if BI were to simulate infantry as they simulate tanks and planes there wouldnt be ironsights and only a crosshair. if youre gonna include something do it properly or dont include it at all.

An NSV on tripod would be kind'a sweet, since the DShKM is a kind'a stone-age weapon by today's standards.

Proper selection of helo's. I want what we currently have aswell as a Ch-53 and a Merlin. And some bloody British units for a change, every conflict the US is in we are normally there to, would be nice to have some para's and royal marines, actually come to think of it, throw in a couple of Seaking's for the royal marines.

a wide range of low poly rubble, cars, town objects and even low poly civilians so the battlefields can have more 'life' rather than being vast empty and too clean like they are now.

low poly to have minimum impact on performance (but still look ok and be destructible and block view).

T90 is basically an upgraded T-72 that was mislabelled during the Iraq war.

T84 Oplot MBT and M-95 Degman MBT are good alternatives.

40 ton US wheeled AFV with rail gun as main armament (M1A2 SEP replacement) Looks like the lander APC from "Aliens". Active Defense system to shoot down ATGM's. Rumored to have javelin launcher.

If BI deliver a coregame that is advanced in every way...

AND, the tools to create stuff, we would see a comunity

explosion with stuff...

1: game engine should be betatested by comunity..

Thats the ONLY way you can cover ALL kinds of

pc_mac_linux?!? buggs

2: AI engine must be tested in every thinkable situation.

Crawling, Walking, Running, Driving, Flying evereywere.

Not just in the countryside, but in towns, in water, ON

BRIDGES, every bridge and every road must be tested...

3: Multiplayer MUST be betatested by community.

There are as many diffrent players out there as there

are arsholes on earth. We all play in a diffrent way..

BUT MOST IMPORTANT: Please...Focus on the engine

it self...And give the community tools to create stuff

on their own...Tools that are easy to learn..

This is a double egded sword unfortunately. By not providing enough content, you create addon dependant multiplayer servers which are obviously not very public friendly. Especially considering how certain servers restrict using custom addons which may consist of "cheats".

I.e. the marker color system is currently very lacking by default with almost no transparent version of colors, and several colors missing. Adding this via custom addon makes the server less likely to become a public frequent visited server because everyone that joins has to download this addon.

Automatic downloading and handling of needed addons from a given site (different from the game hosting server) would be very welcome to fix this issue. Addon redirection given in server.cfg or something.

Put in the basics...No fancy dancy stuff...

Its the great addonmakers out there that is

actually making the game worth wile..I mean

look at ECS, RKSL, FDF, XAM and more...

Who today playes ArmA in its original version

NO ADDONS applyed..

And if BI release the tools in advance the community

will provide with topnotch units and maps and weapons

and vehicles and planes an choppers and sounds and and

omg i cant belive im getting all aroused here...

ArmA2 and its Opponent OFP2 has allready got a cmmunity

that is huge all over the world. I for sure will buy both..

On release date...When the shops open...Ill probobly

camp outside their door...LOL

It's utopia that The Community provides you with top-notch addons if only BIS could give them tools... tools that are easy to learn...  wink_o.gif

It's a Game I purchased, and a game usually includes something worth of playing.  I expect to see content worth of playing in ArmA 2 too, off-the-shelf!

If people want to be game content designers and creators then they can do that; but don't expect that you get a good product if you rely on The Community to create the top-notch content. Don't you see all those many addon projects dying? Never releasing anything (but posting lots of screenshots of great addons)? Didn't you notice that? Did you also not notice that most of the community-created addons can not be used together, if not for the fact that the visual quality varies greatly and makes addons look very out-of-place once placed in-game alongside other content, but also for the fact that configurations vary too greatly, making playing with addon A against addon B useless effort, as the creator of addon A and the creator of addon B had zero co-operation and as a result the addons are incompatible, making for a very unbalanced gameplay?

This might sound negative but is needed to bring you closer down to the Earth from "The Community creates top-notch addons (most often it doesn't) and why doesn't BIS leave making top-notch addons to The Community"-clouds you are at smile_o.gif

In no way are my words disrespective to the many great addon projects which have actually released addons. It is just recognition that most addon projects either post screenshots or die without ever showing anything, even screenshots. And the projects that actually release addons, usually don't co-operate at all, which would be required if we want to use the addons together in the game without noticing greatly varying difference in quality and configuration values. That isn't fixed by "BIS releasing tools that are easy to learn".
