Recommended Posts

Hi, look man... i took the gun (asking first) from a OFP addons maker,

he don't told me the names of the CS men that did the gun in 1St

place; until that i seen two posts above this post... i never seen

the names of the men that did this gun for the CS (game that i

never touched) no one told me the names, you or any other; no-one.

And belive me, i don't remember you, i remember lots of people

bitching about the credits thing; i can't name someone that i don't

know his name; why...!? because no one told me his/they're name.

That's the reason for don't have said "hey, this men did this gun

for another game that i don't play and i took it once converted

from a fella of mine". What you don't get?, I NEVER HEARD OF THOSE MEN.

Now get lost. Let's C ya

Counter Strike textures made by: Wannabe

@

Your very own thread.

You still sure you haven't heard of them? The thread also clearly shows how i tried to make you put the credits in there... And you only did after a few pages of arguing.

So what about you start actually showing respect for those who made the models and textures you use for your releases? What is this release without them? Nothing but scripts. Even the sight image is a screenshot of the model... So you wouldn't even really have that without them.

This is really starting to become a problem in the ARMA / OFP community. I've been a very long time fan of both games, especially OFP even though i don't post here much... I still browse ofp.info and the new site for Armed Assault regularily and i've come to a conclusion:

About 90% of custom weapon models and textures are in fact converts, mostly custom CS / CS: S models. I normally ignore that because it's so deep rooted it'd be impossible to fix entirely. Nobody knows where the stuff originally came from really, except for a select few who choose to present them as their own. Now, wipman didn't claim these as his own models. However he still didn't post credit for those who really made it. I've had this same discussion with him three times now, that link clearly shows that.

Even if he DIDN'T know, he wouldn't become angry and refuse to fix his errors...

So, let's pretend you don't infact know of those people... Let's pretend i've never posted here. Let's also pretend that i'm now going to ask you to fix the credits now that you know them(mind you, in real life i've already told you years ago)....

Would you fix the credits, please? Choose your answer wisely, the way i see it there's two possible outcomes:

A. You DON'T get to be judged as a pompous ass who doesn't give a shit about those who really make the stuff.

OR

B. You DO get to be judged as just that.

Which one is it?

wipman,

Is there a link anywhere for the updated .45 (v.93 I think it is) with updated credits in the readme? I've tried a bunch of sites/mirrors and couldn't find one.

Edit: BTW Good job with the tinkering. The update is nice.

I was wondering if it is possible to replace only the skin and sound for the default m9 with this. I don't want to edit the damage so I can still play MP.

Thanks and good work. Looks well made.

- Darkstorn: Get lost with your credits bullshit paranoia.

Bullshit? Paranoia?

If credits are bullshit to you, what the HELL are you doing modding for a game? You seem to have an utter lack of respect for those who make the whole community work... Without models and textures you wouldn't have models and textures... Yeah it's that simple but you're the only person who doesn't seem to get that.

Credits are extremely important even if you think otherwise. I would also appreciate if you didn't act as a total asshole in every single post of yours... Your 4 warnings are there for a reason.

/E: That and the credits still claim King Homer as the texturer/modeller. By now we've gathered that Iono made the model and Wannabe made the textures... Yet the old credits are still there, contradicting each other.

King Homer didn't make the model or texture, so even if you wouldn't know the original authors, he wouldn't be it. So he doesn't deserve credit for them.

As for these few gentlemen:

Strykerwolf

Frank

Foxmike

Yamantaka

These personnel have nothing to do with the OFP/ARMA versions, since they had nothing to do with the model/texture. Just the original CS release. Releasing for CS requires more than just models and textures and scripts to work.

Hi, thanks again for the download mirrors, Old Bear and the whole

Armedassault.info crew; Darkstron, i told you... get lost, you're not

wellcome in my threads, you're spamming here with things that have

been already clear or discussed so stalk someother. King Hommer

was who imported the gun for the OFP, he converted the gun to

make it work in the OFP Engine, so he deserves to be credited, if

you don't understand that... well. LEt's C ya

It's NOT clear... The credits are still vague and quite untrue as well.

I'll let others judge if i'm spamming or not... The way i see it, i'm trying to up the standards of your releases and make you have proper credits for them... Why is it so hard?

He did NOT texture it, yet the credits still say that. He also did NOT model it, and the credits also say that.

He might have converted it, he deserves credit for it if you want to give it to him, however he absolutely DOES NOT deserve credit for modelling or texturing them. That is just plain misleading from the original authors. From your vague list of CS authors, how would i know who is the modeller and texturer if i didn't know the people in the first place?

Change the credits again, this time until they're correct. King Homer did NOT model or texture these models. You *will* replace his name on those categories with Iono and Wannabe...

If i'm wrong, why haven't i seen resistance from anybody else but you? I'd say it's because i'm absolutely right, and that your release is NOT important enough for you to do whatever the hell you want.

This could've been much simplier if you just had agreed with the proper credits but you choose to make it into a huge argument. Again. Third time now, nonetheless...

Even if you for some reason have a grudge against CS/ CS: S modders, you'd do yourself well to fix the credits regardless.

And, in real life / internet forums, saying 'get lost' achieves absolutely nothing except it makes you seem like a person who doesn't have respect for the forum rules... Only a moderator or an admin would really have the right to say that to somebody who is trying to fix something... In this case i'm trying to make you give proper credits to those who deserve it. It only made yourself look more arrogant.

The person who created the gun needs to be credited. Not some other whacko who took a gun out of another game.

As Darkstorm already said. it wasnt King Homer who spend hours and days modelling and texturing this gun.

I think you are the person here who should be trying to get lost.

It won't end the discussion until you REALLY fix it.

Now it says:

Model: King Homer

Textures: King Homer

and something like 'these guys made it for cs'

*insert a long list of people*

What you need to do is REMOVE King Homer's name from those spots, as he DID NOT model OR texture it. No matter if you think he deserves credit, those two things are not what he deserves it for.

Sure, credit him for the original port, but you still need to fix that.

Wipman,

The creators deserve the credit. Yes, King Homer brought to OFP, but that wouldn't be possible without the models/textures. They deserve at least that much respect. I dl'd from another link but the readme still doesn't credit them by name. If you haven't changed the readme to include them by name, just do so please. If you have, I'm sorry for being behind the curve I must have dl'd old ones.

THIS GUN WAS ORIGINALY MADE FOR THE CS BY:

*I hope that this cool down all those credits sluts out there.

I don't know what each of those CS men did for the gun 'emselves,

but i think that has been perfectly clear that they made the gun

for the CS; i don't know what parts of the gun each one of 'em

made, but i don't trust in the word of a stalker, those men are

credited for they're job for the CS thanks to: SniperRedHawk.

That has been who've told me the names of those involved in the

creation of this gun (for the CS). King Hommer converted it to

the OFP and i took it from him, after that he made the model OFP

compatible and the textures OFP compatible too, asking him 1St.

And if no one have something about the addon and not the credits

i think that this pointless discussion should finnish. If i had a .wss

to .wav converter... i'll try to find inside the BIS weapons .pbo

a better reload and dry sound for the gun; because what remains...

is something that i don't know how to do it, that's make the gun

leave in the ground the empty shells by 30secs and then dissapear.

That was a very pimp feature that King Hommer and i think that

some other introduced in the OFP and i miss it in the ArmA, like

some other things, but that is for other kind of weapons, assault

riffles, long rifles, tanks etc. Let's C ya

It should say; "Model CONVERTED BY:, Textures CONVERTED BY:", King Homer did not create the model nor did he texture it. How hard is that to understand?

Hi, yes SniperRedHawk, that's true; i'll change it in the next update

once that i find the right sounds for the empty firing and reload of

the gun, and if i can add again somehow the 3D muzzle flash that

the gun used back in the OFP days... i'll do it too; because i think

that i don't gonna find the help that i need to make the empty shells

stay in the ground.

This proves too things, 1) that i don't read very much (even my own

readmes) and B) That saying the things clearly and with enough

respect you can get more than stalking and bitching at someone.

Hi, i've try to change the Memory LOD points possition to make the

gun spit well the empty shells, but without success; i've also try

to resize the empty shell model but without success so i begin to

think that the problem is in the config. And that's something that

i don't know how to fix, but i can't be sure that that be the reason

that makes the gun spitt the shells to the hiperspace instead do it

like the BIS B92FS or addon guns like the über pimp RH Mk23's 1.1,

could someone that have try the gun point me to a possible reason

of that weird bug?, or even better... tell me how to fix it. Let's C ya

This is what I see and it goes high up but it`s not the shell. biggrin_o.gif

Also the flame out of the barrel( when I can see it) is meters infront of the weapon.

I can`t see any shells coming out of the weapon, not even in slowmotion huh.gif

Dunno if I have a total screwd (older)version...downloaded it yesterday ..somewhere, ArmA.info I think.

I use the original PBO out of the rar with QG or normal 1.08.

Hi, yeah man... that's the same that i see and that no matters what

i do with any of the LODs of the weapon... that that still there;

i've try to resize the shell model, i've try to add the B92FS memory

points, i've try to place those memory points in the right (i think)

place; but nothing happens. If all that happens because of the

config... then i can't do nothing about it; that thing behind the

slide seems that can't be removed or it takes with it part of the

slide (the plate where you see the butt of the firing pin) and i'll need

of a real modeler to chek out closely the whole model for find out

why all that happens and how to solve it; im just a player. Let's C ya
