The Unsung Vietnam War Mod 3.0E - Echo Released !!!

I have a plan to create a large campaign within my unit regarding the Vietnam War, with the Battle of Ia Drang to be the first operation in the campaign.

 

I have a question specifically for the Ia Drang map: are there any plans to improve the map in the near future? And more importantly, adding to it Camp Radcliff?

Greatests mod ever! love the atmosphere, the maps, even the old ones. Had a battle on the la drang map with some friends, with a3 fog and weather, even this map looks great. Thank you for this.

The only thing is the sounds on some of the weapons, but they still sounds way better than in delta, and when i use enhanced soundscape  with unsung, it still sounds great.

So thanks :-)

Best place is in our discord although uploading the photos to steam then putting them in a spoiler by using the "insert other media" on the bottom right of your reply box you can insert image by URL. Just click the steam image to get the URL, or you can upload them to imgur also.

Cao Bang Evolution released here 32 player MP co-op mission for non-Apex users. Apex dependency has been removed in our patch beta, so non-Apex users please enjoy this mission or my Khe Sanh one until the patch is released.

yeah the thread has gone deathly quiet since we patched it. quite nice really, looks like everyone is off playing with the mod, having fun!

We have been up-to-date since it was released but due to some little reason I didnt get the chance to post our mirror yet.

A possible bug discovered:  The Flare trap won`t send up the rocket but it fizzes some and just land like 5ft from player.  Is that intended,no such thing as a flare going up into the sky.  It just lay there and look very bright. Thanks for a great mod.

How does calling in support work in the Unsung Vietnam War Mod? I read through the field manual in the Unsung package and Googled for an answer with no luck. I was playing on a server yesterday and I noticed another player call for CAS near the mission objective. Later as the battle raged on he called support for resupply. I asked him how it worked in side chat, but he was very brief in his reply. He said that you need to pick a leader slot in the server lobby and then pick up a certain radio at the base to access support. This would be very helpful when there are only a few players online and I really like the large scale AO of the Evolution missions. I tried his suggestion on an empty server this morning using the marine backpack radio (forgot the exact model) and I got closer to success. I can see support when I select the command menu (tilde key), but there are no support options. So I don't know. Is this function related to rank or am I just taking the wrong steps?

taking some of the unsung radios gives you a useraction to open the radio dialog. once you have that open you can then call in support by turning on the radio, selecting the right channel and then clicking on the handset.

 

in my evo mission, there is also a different support system running in parallel, with this system, keep the generic radio you spawn with and then use the U key to open the dialog. then call support using that.

beware if you call artillery support in our servers without being on teamspeak and without other infantry being in support of it, you may be kicked off the server. this is especially true when the server is busy.
