51st Infantry Brigade

Headquarters Scotland Milsim Unit

Who are we?

We are the 51st Infantry Brigade, established in early 2016 we have created a community emulating the 51st and using Her Majesty’s Armed Forces tactics, ranks and doctrine. As a whole our community consists of like-minded lads who wish to play Arma 3 together in a structured, professional yet fun environment. Our in-house training program has a realistic yet applicable training regime called the Combat Infantryman's Course and teaches recruits all they need to know to operate within a training, live-fire exercise or a deployment around the globe.

When do we play?

Our official events are hosted on Saturday's at 19:30 GMT, those who wish to attend must have completed at least phase one training. Throughout the remainder of the week we offer unofficial events which individuals can partake in regardless of their Phase 1 training status, these range from section based training's to playing in-house missions created by our G3 staff office. Although we are an Arma 3 military simulations unit, we host other events within games such as Squad or Digital Combat Simulator along with the many other simulation based games.

Available Roles

Fundamentally, each and every member who goes through our phase training program is trained as an Infanteer although everyone will receive specific specialist role training. Upon completing your Phase 1 and 2 training you’ll be assigned to an infantry section by one of our G1 staff members. We have support assets attached to our brigade, these range from Medical, Signals, Artillery and Engineers. Those who display an interest in entering one of our assets will have to serve time in one of our infantry sections (1 month active service - exception being an Urgent Operational Requirement) before transferring to their desired role within the brigade itself.

What are we looking for?

- A mature and professional attitude.

- Willingness to learn new things.

- A working headset & microphone.

- The ability to set aside time for our main events at 19:30 - 22:30GMT.

- Dedication to the unit and adhere to our no dual-clanning policy.

- Have a sense of character & humour.

Under the Age of 17?

Although we have a 17 year old and above age limit, those who don’t meet our age requirements and are between 12 - 16 years of age are eligible to apply for our cadet programme and will undergo the same training regime as the regulars themselves. Those in the cadet programme are monitored through an extended probationary period to gauge their level of maturity and level of professionalism. If they meet our standards they can take up a leadership position within the cadets or they can be reassigned to the regular portion of the unit before they meet the age requirements. Either way once they reach the age limit of 17 they will be moved to the regulars.

The Application Process

There are a few ways you can get involved, you can simply join our TS server and join the ‘Looking for a G1 Recruiter’ and ask any questions you have on joining the 51st Infantry Brigade.

You can also make your way to our website which is available at the bottom of this post, create an account on the forum and reference the ‘Information for Applicants’ post in the Enlistment area.

October 2017 Update

With a recent recruitment drive, Alpha Company 2SCOTS has expanded to platoon strength. With this intake, new recruits have been going through the newly revamped Combat Infantryman's course. Once their training has been completed the recruits will advance on to becoming a Fusilier as well as being assigned to a section within Alpha Company 1 Platoon. With expansion comes a need for leadership, Alpha Company 2SCOTS conducted a Potential Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) Cadre. This is apart of our Command, Leadership and Management (CLM) training regime. This will allow those who exhibit leadership qualities to progress into further leadership roles within the Brigade.

As of the 25th of October 2017, the 51st Infantry Brigade will launch our Liberation CTI mission on a public server platform to give people who join a taste of what we do in our privately hosted events, this will incentivize those interested in a mature, professional and fun community to enlist within our ranks. If you are interested in seeing weekly updates from 51st Infantry Brigade, we have recently published our new twitter page. So, drop us a follow for weekly unit updates.

November 2017 Update

This month, the 51st Infantry Brigade deployed to Chernarus, Czech Republic on Operation Broadsword I. This deployment will consist of pushing out an enemy rebel presence in the area. As of November the unit is at platoon strength and continues to increase in manpower each day. After Operation Broadsword the unit will go into Operational Stand down to allow our members to celebrate the festivities as well as G7 Staff holding training sessions for those who intend on gaining qualifications, learning more subjects and hoping to progress further in the unit. The 51st has intentions of deploying to Kunduz, Afghanistan in 2018. This deployment will focus on doing a handover to the local Afghan National Police. The deployment will prove to be hard dealing with taliban and a new threat of Improvised Explosive Devices. Prior to this operation, members of Alpha Company 2SCOTS will conduct  Mission Specific Training and go through things such as C-IED training to learn more about the threats of IED’s and how to deal with them while in the field.

In our last monthly update we mentioned launching our public server, due to issues with our provider we have elected to take this down for the month of November to allow us to deal with the background issues and also add a few goodies for the new year. Thanks to those who joined the public server and played alongside the fighting 51st.

March 2018 Update

The month of March saw the 51st Infantry Brigade continue a series of targeted raids while trying to establish hearts & minds alongside our Afghan National Security Forces counterparts. During the week we've been playing on our public server & during a number of cadres for career advancement within the 51st Infantry Brigade. Other than this, we're planning to open a Fire Support Section within 2 SCOTS and expand our Joint Helicopter Assets. Looking to expand medical, signals & our infantry platoon.

April 2018 Update

The month of April saw the 51st bringing their operations in Kunduz to an end. After 8 long weeks of presence patrols and targeted raids, the impact on the insurgency began to show. Taking advantage of this momentum, 1 Platoon of the 51st Infantry and the local ANA Garrison launched a deep patrol into enemy held territory, establishing a fortified position right in the heart of the enemy's main supply routes. This paved the way for a successful assault by the main body of the brigade on Kunduz city. The 51st were welcomed back to the UK to begin their home rotation period. There, they continue to hone their skills in preparation for a rumoured deployment to the far east where their considerable counter-insurgency skills will be put to the test.

May 2018 Update

The month of may saw the 51st Infantry Brigade deploy to the far east region of Cambodia on Operation Tiber, to conduct peacekeeping operations and disrupt the Mindanao Liberation Front supply routes. Alongside the Philippine Army and US Army Rangers we intend to quell the active threat of the MLF and help to stabilize the region so diplomacy can take place and an avenue of peace can be pursued and a peace treaty can be signed.

June 2018 Update

As of the 16th of June, Op Tiber has come to an end, The 51st Infantry Brigade has been pulled out of the region after a well executed handover to the US forces deployed to the region has allowed aid distribution to continue and the political agreement to be enforced. We are returning home to the United Kingdom for a well earned rest and to enter Mission Specific Training while we make ready for a joint operation. We will be hosting a series of qualification / career advancement courses during this time. We're also looking for more staff positions to be filled.

- 2SCOTS, ACOY, 1 Platoon, Infantry (OPEN)

- 6SCOTS, CCOY, 1 Platoon, Reserves (OPEN)

- CADETS, DCOY, 1 Platoon, Infantry (OPEN)

- 225MED, ECOY, 1 Platoon, BSA (CLOSED)

- 32RSIGS, ECOY, 1 Platoon, BSA (CLOSED)
