Capraian Marine and Alpine Equipment

13 posts in this topic

Alright so after a very long time of no activity , I got inspired again to dig this up and turn out a few reskins, I'm still battling config problems, but I hope to overcome that eventually by just adding the equipment pieces in and then using Orbat to make a faction later down the road , but this is some of what i have, I hope you enjoy.

The camouflage patterns I plan to introduce will be older Italian inspired, with the exception of the Alpine it is a custom pattern developed by mixing the old Italian desert with the old Italian San Marco pattern, giving it an almost Swiss Alpine feel.

A little back Story on the Capraian Defense Forces, they are what was the Armed Forces of Capraia following the war against Takistan in the late 2000's, Capraia's military was victorious , but in utter ruin from a war of attrition, now under economic pressures and CSAT closely monitoring them, Capraia has begun to revamp it's military although it is heavily reliant on US Surplus and lacks any real Armored forces, with the exception of a few APC's. The Capraian Defense Forces primary strength relies on it's infantry forces, Marine, Alpine and light infantry in conjunction with it's air wing comprised of several UH1 variants, including gunships.

Capraia is a member of the Green Sea Alliance and a close ally of the Republic of Nogova.

Great to see you back. :smile_o:.

Capraia will fit well in the 2035 era of the Green Sea Alliance, especially as Malden has now joined.

Alpine camo looks spiffing, best of luck with the project.

Thanks for the kind words and Capraia will do it's best to be a contributing member state, though currently we lack any air assets , minus UH1's as CAS,Transport, and the Merlin to drop in whole platoons and to do some moderate lifting.

Currently lacking any heavy armor and relying on AFV's/APC's to ferry troops with AT/AA weapons to where they are needed.

I just downloaded a bunch of DIY templates so going to look at hopefully adding Capraian L39's :

Does this mean CUP is going to be a requirement?

Sorry I meant the "buzzard" but I have been thinking of using CUP for a long time, i just didn't know if we should go that route .

That's equally good on the buzzard. I know what you mean about CUP, its sometimes nice to keep the mod self contained without too many dependencies.

For your NAF, are you planning on using CUP ? or possibly RHS as a dependency ? and yeah I am trying to do as much as i can with vanilla assets , but I am thinking of possible CUP or RHS in the future, for things like Tanks or more unique assets, like I really love those ASV's they have :p

At present im steering towards CUP, as NAF in Arma2 used alot of older armour and air assets.

I might adopt the same thing, if I can find a work around issue for CUP Vehicles that have gunner positions , as for whatever reason, like I said with orbat it's broken for me and it only spawns in a driver.

That being said though vanilla vehicles work like a charm, minus static weapons, but I found some fantastic Merdc and Greek inspired merdc for vehicles.
