Artillery lethality......

Is there a mod or a method for tuning the killing power of artillery or mortar fire down? I had an example last night where a mortar round landed quite a distance from a squad and took out 8 out of 10 AI troops.

Well depending on the distance, it's kinda realistic. Mortar rounds for example aren't just bombs, they are designed for the shrapnel to take full effect on infantry, same with artillery shells (I  think)

Heavy artillery fire is actuall too weak. Especially the blast effect of the 230mm MLRS, but also the 155mm. 

Mortar damage on infantry is realistic, just the damage against structures is a bit too high.

 

The effective radius of an 82mm mortar round is about 35 - 40 meters. 

Note: 

- 35 - 40 meters in all directions from the impact

- "effective radius" as in radius, where lethal or severe injuries are likely, especially to standing human beings

Personaly I think the power may be a bit higher. Like pils says, the blast effect could be a bit bigger.

I also wish the visual effects would be more realistic. I liked how they did it in Op FP, Dragon Rising. Very nice looking.
