Thanks for the NiArms sound replacements. I wasn't expecting anything coming out of it anymore since I thought you were having difficulties with the configs so I was pleased and surprised to see you managed to make it work. However, as you know there are still some issues with the mod but I thought that I could give you the list of what I've found. 

 

- Valmet RK-62 has a strange sound when being used in the woods. It kinda reminds me of the sound when you fire your weapon inside of some building.

 

- Rheinmetall and epilator are missing sounds.

 

- Burst firemode is missing sound.

 

Overall I'm just pleased to see NiArms being finally part of JSRS sound family and these are just minor issues with the mod. Thank you once again for the great mod you've made for all of us.

Addon "JSRS_SOUNDMOD_MRZR" requires addon "JSRS_SOUNDMOD_Prowler"

Also i wonder why in RHS, as well in vanilla (tanks) when i use 1p camera, and engine is on idle i hear something like engine of other tank passing by. Maybe its missmathed files for idle vehicle (those sound like accelerating vehicle)?

@LJ,  the ASP-1 Kir - does not have a sound at shooting. please fix this bug

 Agreed this one really stands out - i love the MX now and ive never really liked that sound.  Best sound immersion since the old SLX mod from OFP  imo

These are the issues I've collected so far:

 

  • ASP 1 Kir missing sounds
  • Tanks in idle and first person have a driving sounds
  • Strider and other vehicles go silent after startup (First person)
  • Pawnee Minigun burst sounds are too long
  • All Vehicle minigun sound effects have no actual minigun sound
  • Mk14 and other weapons produce multiple sounds indoor
  • Addon "JSRS_SOUNDMOD_MRZR" requires addon XXX
  • RHS Mk14 EBRRI does not have any firing sounds
  • NIArms G36C2 and HK33A2 3 missing burst sounds
  • NIArms Valmet RK-62 has a strange sound when being used in the woods
  • NIArms Rheinmetall and epilator are missing sounds
  • NIArms Burst firemode is missing sounds

Anything else to that?

Yes, I can add something. But these are not bugs, this is only wishes (to be my subjective perception only).

 

1. The flight of missiles from NLAW / RPG is accompanied by a strange sound. It's like creaking. Just a strange sound.
2. The destruction of buildings at a close and long distance has the same sound, only quieter. For distant destruction, special sounds are needed.Very noticeable when shelling artillery (when buildings collapsed)
3. The sound of shooting from Katiba or Mk20 sounds too dry. There is not enough power and low sound. For comparison, the new MX sound is perfect! With a low, powerful sound
4. Shot from the RPG-7 shooting sound does not have a powerful sound. I hear only the sound of a rocket's flight, but there is not a clear and powerful sound of shot, as we have in the shot of RPG-42, the Titan Launcher

5. I already mentioned this, if the character is completely tired then hardly heard the sound of heavy breathing. It's just impossible to hear. It would be nice to hear the player's fatigue

As I said earlier, the minigun firing sounds for most miniguns are still missing with the 30mm explosion sound going off when snaps from miniguns are heard. I'm still only running Arma 3 with the steam version of JSRS, so if nobody else is having this issue then I'm not sure why I am.

All versions of the UH-80 Ghosthawk, CH-67 Huron, PO-30 Orca, Speedboat Minigun, and Qilin (Armed) have this problem. The WY-55 Hellcat and AH-9 Pawnee have the minigun firing sound.

Latest versions of Arma 3 and JSRS installed, no other mods.

 

 

I wouldn't want breathing noises any louder, IIRC they were lowered earlier because they were too loud.

 

There's also a rather grating sound effect of rocks grinding on each other when walking on concrete surfaces (such as sidewalks, non-freeway paved roads, certain buildings) that's annoying enough I actively avoid those surfaces when possible while wearing headphones. Not a big issue but I think it'd be a lot nicer if the rock-grating noise itself only came up every 3-4 steps instead of every step.

I've noticed that the RHS A-10 rocket pods make zero sound. The only sound you hear is the impact of the rocket itself. 

Btw I don't know when you had implemented that whistle effect to artillery/tank rounds flying past but wow, it sent chills down my spine. I just noticed it a few hours ago. It really gives you that feel of combat, especially since the map I'm playing on has engagement ranges beyond 600 meters, with trenches, town in the center as the focal point and rolling hills/defilade. The sound just echos and rumbles through the fields and hills beautifully.

  • Sa vz. 58
  • Sa vz. 61
  • T-5000
  • AKM (suppressor)

  • Mosin SBR (suppressor)

Unfortunately, the number of bugs is replenished. This is what I found at this hour (except for what has already been said above)

 

NLAW (PCML) does not have a sound when firing,
Flight sound VTOL Xian (player Pilot) has a buggy sound

Same with RHS M16, M4, but this is more common on "CUP" islands (Chernarus, Utes) and other "not vanilla" islands, and not only in woods. This happens in random places.

Shotgun with RHS has no indoor sound. Some of the bolt actions sound vanilla as well. Thanks for the hard work LJ. Changes the atmosphere completely!

Fixes:

- Fixed Weapons using 5.56mm Ammo caused interior noises in forest areas (Incl. NIArms and RHS)

 

Still gotta fix a lot here and there. But thats what I got so far.

There is also one thing that can be added to the list - Turret servo sound REMOVAL(turret rotation sound on T-90, T-72B3, BMP's, BMD's).
Its much better in default RHS, as from JSRS it better fit future vehicles and its way too loud.

Hello listeners,

 

today I have a rather big update coming along. I had some time this week and kinda went ahead with it. Found back my motivation and started something, finally!

With this update I put some requests in account. Mainly its an update about urgent and overdue issues that got fixed. Yes, the damn miniguns are a real pain! Even now, after they got fixed and work, they dont sound right somehow. But I have to admit that I'm bound to ArmA's lovely limitations that does not allow me to archive greater sounds for it. But at least they should work and produce a sound what so ever.

 

By saying I took requests in account I aim at the "SMA - Specialist Military Arms" mod, that I fully support and cover at the moment. All weapons are covered with either existing JSRS soundsets or with new unique sounds like the AAC and SCAR weapon sounds.

Besides that, the RHS arsenal sounds grew further - SA58 and 61 are covered, missing suppressor sounds got fixed (except the M76 SD sounds, which for some weird reason does not detect the silencer attachments) and some changes where made to fit better together.

 

The other part of the RHS update would be the vehicle part! I finally got myself motivated to invest some time into the lovely vehicles and covered at least a hand full of them - M113, Humvee, M2A2, M1A1, some trucks, russian Tigr, BMD and BMP and so on. The list of vehicles is big, my list of coverage not^^ But I'm working on it and so far you can test the sh*t out of them and give constructive feedback - and by that I mean not "I dont like, change!" feedback, I mean issue report and bugs and errors and all sorts of stuff you went into that brakes the immersion.

 

One big part of this update is the new tail system, tho its nothing new at all. I kinda optimized the way JSRS handled reflections and reduced the amount of sounds per weapon but increased the randomization of each single effect. The game should be able to produce tail and reflection sounds at almost any time and the on/off switching between tails and no tails because of too much background sounds should be gone to like 95%.

 

In case I missed anything I'd like to add the changelog and hope you will enjoy this update and the additions as much as I enjoy making them :)

- Tweaked Soniccrack Volume on further distances was too loud and noisy
- Tweaked Soft surfaces such as concrete and dirt roads made a solid step noise
- Tweaked Most weapons had a too strong frequency randomizer applied
- Tweaked Volume for distance weapon tails were too low

- Fixed Missing RHS Mk14 EBRII soundsets - set to Mk18Ebr
- Fixed Servaral missing RHS indoor soundsets for M107, M2010, PP2000 and so on

- Fixed Missing RPG7V interior shot sounds
- Fixed Missing ASP Kir firing sounds
- Fixed Missing Minigun sounds for various helicopters
- Fixed Missing firing sounds for Nlaw
- Fixed Missing soundshader 1700m to 2500m Distances
- Fixed File: jsrs_soundmod_snd_helicopters\sounds\wy-55_hellcat\int_main.ogg.ogg not found
