What is Iron Front
---

It is a tactical shooter video game set in World War II Eastern Front built by AWAR - a group of former OFP and Arma modders.
It was released mid last year as a standalone game using the Real Virtuality 3 engine also powering Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.

The highlights:

  • Four outstanding terrains of different size
  • large variety of very high quality and historically accurate units, weapons and vehicles
  • German and Russian singleplayer campaign across eight missions in an authentic setting
  • Advanced gameplay features like the high level tank simulationgun towing and artillery system or the realistic mine system
  • Great gameplay with its low tech world war 2 setting

What is Iron Front in Arma
---

Thanks to kju developing the conversion process with mikero's tools and Sickboy/DeadTomGC to provide an easy interface,
this project allows you to get the great content into Arma 3. In addition it allows to:



  • Mod Iron Front
  • Extend with your own addons
  • Combine it with community made mods
  • Play in the most recent Real Virtuality engine with continuing development
  • In an alive and vivid gaming and modding community
  • Improve and extend the base content with our huge 1.06 community patch

If you get client or server crashes, please submit all required files to BI at the Arma 3 feedback tracker.

Thanks to tierprot the German, Soviet, Polish and US units support the A3 clothing system. A few other retextures are still to come.

If the exe won't patch your game, try the follow:

- be sure to have the mods in the A3 folder
- unzip the exe
- copy the unzipped exe inside the A3 folder
- create a shortcut of the unzipped exe
- right click on the shortcut -> property -> destination -> add at the end: -incurrentfolder

Good work! The MP battles in beta were quite nice!

Maybe I could make an "co10 Escape" version for IF... that could be nice!

 

I also may have one or two missions I made during beta that wasn't used in final relase, when I find them, I will sent them to you.

Hi with the new update i get animation delay with all the units when i walk then press right click to aim the walking animation still takes place then the gun aims. and why is the other thread locked?

Does anyone config which integrates infantry, tanks, artillery, trucks in one faction ( Wehrmacht, US Army, Red Army)?

Nice job.

 

Problem which was described in the previous thread is all fixed.

 

However with that being said I did notice some minor bugs and glitches: 

 

Messed up textures on the T-34/76

 

Some shadow anomalies on the Tiger I tank (around the muzzle break and side skirts). Nothing major really but felt like it should be reported nonetheless.

 

Trenches have a similar shadow issue as described above with an occasional flickering problem to go with it.

 

SVT-40 ejects an odd amount of spent shell casings after every shot ( sometimes two and sometimes three, quite odd).

Dont need it, if other addons is just an explosions addon from the devs, up to you if you want to use it but its not required to run IFA3, blastcore is better alternative.

Indeed what Gunter said, plus i didn't update it yet, so I don't really know if it works or not.

 

Don't expect any update soon. I want to work a bit on how the mod works and it's set up. I want to include the latest cup updates and merge everything in one single mod (@IF / @LIB_DLC_1).

It will be hard, it will require a lot of time and a lot of headaches and I could fail too, but I want to try it at least.

i found a bug with the MGs when i shoot the solder in the gun he wont die and i get animation delay with all the units when i walk then press right click to aim it takes like 5 seconds to aim

I get a memory could not be allocated error every time I shut down arma when using this mod.

I think i found a couple bugs.(Patched to the latest version ofcourse)

The Willys jeep has no sound while i drive

If i turn out the Tiger I.-s engine, it still plays the idle sound

The turret rotating sound of the Tiger I should sound like an electromotor, not the current one.

The Tiger I-s machinegunner doesn't uses he's machinegun (against US forces, but they were set up to be hostile against Blufor.)

Hey friends. Small question.

 

I have Iron Front, and I was curious if the campaign worked in ArmA III. The game won't convert to ArmA II so I'm either stuck working on the Lite version there, or playing it in ArmA III with its engine and gameplay updates.

 

I can't check now due to overheating PC issues with a game like this, unfortunately, but I figured someone here must have tried it. Surely I can't be the only campaign fan here.

 

EDIT: Trying to convert the game at the very least doesn't for me. I get a "You have to run a legitimate version of IronFront before proceeding." This is odd, because.

 

1: I installed it before on this machine when it first launched for ArmA II before I uninstalled it and the mod

2: Considering the above, this is a legit copy I bought on Steam in 2013

 

I can use the standalone version of the mod, but that's not the full version, nor may it accomplish what I want, so that makes it very undesirable for me. Anyone got any suggestions?

Because the last time i tried to edit a mission with AiA TP and Hazar-Kot Valley map i had a bunch of errors and incompatibilities. It was like a year ago.
