The Unsung Vietnam Mod 3.0 WIP THREAD

  1. where do the SP mission files go that I DLed from page-1 of this thread?  No readme with the files so I assume they go into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3\Missions folder - but that don't seem to work.

If you're talking about the Unsung Delta release thread, the missions found in SP missions are in fact MP missions, the COxx in the name indicating the max player.

They are meant to be placed in the MPMissions directory (and may be hard/impossible to win in SP).

Ahh...got it.  So basically Unsung is exclusively for MP- no AI to help out.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Check the Arma steam workshop. Just put Unsung in the searchbox and select singleplayer. You'll find missions that can be played solo.

just been chatting to a guy about donations for models. as a result i updated our wish-list. here it is in case anyone wants to sponsor a new model purchase for the community.

china lake EX41 cost £40 ---- BOUGHT BY FINCHY

http://www.unknownsock.com/ex41/

mosin nagant / pu scope $75

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/mosin-rifle-sniper-scope-3d-model/776064

we get a discount on luchadors models, so the following prices are indicated at approx discounted rate.

m1911 ($45) (bought by Oddball 47 Ronin)

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-m1911-pistol/654396

thompson $45 (bought by Oddball 47 Ronin)

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/m1a1-thompson-submachine-gun-max/614528

RPG-7 (approx $40)

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-rpg-7-launcher/593780

kar-98 with scope ($60)

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-kar98k-rifle/730996

type 100 $40

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-100-polys/706869

M67 $30

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-m67-grenade/774657

there are a bunch of new vehicles in the works, but the guys making them are very slow.

If you find a vehicle that you would like to donate, it must be textured, uv-mapped and under 30k polys. this is a major problem for many models available on the internet - they are often over 200k polys/faces and arma would not handle it.

mig-15 $100 ---- BOUGHT BY WALLYTHEWALWUS

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-mig-15-cockpit-pilot-model/344703

mig-17 $185

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-model-mig-17-russian-mig/312574

mig-17 $349 !! but isn't she lovely?

https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/mig-17f-fighter-3d-model/1053933

Su-100 $179

Nice looking models. I think M1911 needs an update. Outdated model and crappy looking sights.

Are these 3D models available

-M50 Ontos

-M274 MULE

-M35 cargo truck ??

Because I could donate for those beauties. I really need them.

And If I remember correctly you guys do have an M50 ontos model already? And maybe the M35?

our M50 lacks any textures, nearest model available on the net is 150,000 polys

M35 and M50 are in the hands of Ramamarines and his task force in Russia.

So far they managed only to send one jeep to us. They have slow delivery times, but their work is high quality. So we hope they will come through with:

M35 variants

AH1g cobra
M50 with texture

M41 Walker Bulldog tank

M42 Duster

M2 static weapon

PT76 tank

etc

The M35 was due in December - we now have an eta of March. fingers are crossed.

At first glance I see one which is all I need to Radio HQ that we found a company of VC and call in an airstrike.

You should also consider the NIArms MG3/42 pack. It has a beautiful MG42, a gun that was used extensively by irregular forces in the war, and also the MG3, which the Thai forces used and continue to use on their V-150 APCs (and probably dismounted too.)

Here is a 1 hour podcast from the unsung developers - Sgt-savage, Razorback, Tetet and Eggbeast in which they discuss the origins of the mod, what got them into the Vietnam war theme, and what is in store for the forthcoming Echo release.
