I'm having a problem in which the the Arma 3 process starts for about 3 seconds and then quits without warning. Any fix for this?

From what i understand, this is not a problem on my end, but rather A3/Steam

Hey head, im not sure if this is the right place to paste this but whenever i select a specific loadout i get an error and i cant continue using the loadout. This only happens with one loadout.

The popup error message gives me this:

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application wil close immediately.

Could not find a part of the path 'E:\Programma's\A3 Launcher\presets\a3\Folk ARPS Sun\Tue.xml'."

When i click details i get this:

See the end of this message for details on invoking

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Fix: Launcher would not start until versioncheck completed, moved to seperate thread.

What sort of jiggery-pokery do we need to do to get this to work with ACR? I've added ACR as an additional folder. I can report that getting ACR working with 6 Updater requires use of local mods as well so its not just A3L that has this issue... but I am not sure what the work around is at this point.

I don't get the hiccup. The normal game shortcut is "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe" which loads up ACR DLC just fine along with PMC and BAF. A2OA confirmed running in task manager. Fire up A2 with the launcher and everything is there EXCEPT the ACR DLC. A2OA confirmed running in task manager. The same executables are running.

Help!

Thanks!

So, great launcher, first off. :)

There is an issue where if you delete a mod folder that was used in a preset, it will disappear from the Edit screen where you can choose mods, but it still shows up under the mod list on the front screen. I don't think it affects anything in-game, but you can get a cluttered looking list of mods that don't actually exist. AFAIK the only way to fix it is to delete the preset and make a new one, which is obviously less than ideal. Thanks!

Did you see my post above? Same issue still stands...mods showing up in the command line that have been deleted with no way to remove them.

The design here leaves behind some of the best features of Arma2Lancher.

Biggest one for me:

In A2L presets were additive ... like inheritance in CSS. So I could have one for basics, and another for ACRE type stuff, and yet another with maps, and I could select all/none/just a few or whatever.

It appears to me ... and maybe I'm wrong ... that here I'd have to have an individual preset for each and every variation / combination.

please let me know this ain't so!

Anyone having trouble using this and latest version of ArmA3? Using A3Launcher seems to run the game at v1.08, then running without and launching straight from steam runs it at v1.10 (current patch)? Can't wrap my head around what i'm doing wrong here.

Only way I can think of that being possible is if the launcher is pointing to a different executable/arma 3 directory than the one being launched from steam.

@headswe

I also have a problem where the launcher will not work without an active internet connection, it simply crashes when I fire up the .exe

Yay!

You'd have to insert a custom game sadly.

In a bit of a need of testers for the launcher.

Mostly i just wanna test remove mods after being deleted from the mod-folder and A2 beta.

A3L has been really inconsistent lately. Launch with a mod set, not all are loaded. Relaunch, they are there. Any one else?

As far as i remember, this is caused by "spamming" the launch button.

Anyway working on my new launcher.
