BREAKING NEWS! The Octopus realy does exist and it really is run by Goldman Sachs.

Recommended Posts

Eh It's early days, I'm sure the media won't really care unless something good turns up. I've read up to about 2008, and so far it has just been a lot of brainstorming and insights on some relatively minor events. Some of the emails are just plain 'shit posting' so to speak. Most so far have just been about adjusting analysis procedures (the GV system or whatever they call it) and a watch officer or "stick" or someone else high up telling everyone about a new client wanting some really mundane info (mundane as in -not really important unless your the CEO of the specific company requesting the info-). I don't know what's in the remaining e-mails that have been released so far (can't really be bothered as the ones so far have been pretty mundane... eventually) but It would have to be a lot bigger to get any attention in mainstream media. Well anyway 5,000,000 emails later maybe there will be something interesting. It will be a while before Wikileaks and the media outlets that are on board sift through all 5 million emails, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

my 2 cents.

^^^ Spot on

One or two people in here trying to claim there is some global conspiracy (how it's funded and carried out is never explained) as to why the media is silent on this when what's most likely is this.

Never heard about it - but I'm shocked. Just read the Wikipedia article and its even more shocking to me than the stop indect page...

Yeah and the Euro 2012 will serve as field trial for the system. It could be fully operational in big cities like Berlin or London by 2015

Hi all

The list of "journalist" on Stratfor's payroll should make interesting reading.

I am a Journalist, so am I on that list? :p

i doubt that you can write anything that your boss will not accept, so you do not need to be on list, your boss can be or he can fire you if you will be investigating (as journalist) things that "rich do not want but it is harsh truth " ,

If you want to escape your daily oppression writing only what you are told to write by your rich bosses, you are welcome to asylum in my garden shed! We can publish the true story of the lies you write every day and I will protect you from the Goldman-Sachs secret army who will no doubt try to have you killed. lol

@Vilas - the one flaw in your theory is that when this happens, and it does, we get to find out about it eg:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doug_McKelway

http://blogs.wsj.com/emergingeurope/2012/01/09/turkish-colonel-journalist-fired-over-kurdish-killings/

http://barbadosfreepress.wordpress.com/2011/09/03/breaking-here-first-cbc-sacks-peter-wickham-over-secret-corruption-briefings-to-us-ambassador/

http://thinkprogress.org/special/2011/10/28/356287/wync-radio-show-fires-journalist-for-taking-part-in-occupy-wall-street-protests/?mobile=nc

If what you say happened regularly, it couldn't be hidden. Searching "journalist fired" brings up thousands of links on google and many of them are very disturbing cases of corruption across the world. Many others are simply cases of Journalism ethics and standards and bringing the status and objectivity of their organisation into disrepute. E.g. the young lady in the last link above was justifiably fired because she did break the journalism ethics code. How could listeners/viewers trust her objectivity in the future?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journalism_ethics_and_standards

The other flaw in your theory is that you believed the hype about Stratfor being a secret intelligence organisation, it isn't. It's a jumped up subscription newspaper. Newspapers employ journalists to provide info and investigate stories. Having journalists on the payroll of a newspaper is evidence of what exactly?
