ARMA 2: OA beta build 89647 (1.60 MP compatible build, post 1.60 release)

Me too. When it crashes, the game just freezes, I have to kill it with the task manager. No RPT Entries are created.

I've had the same experience: with this beta the game freezes up and it doesn't react to anything. No .RPT.

Hello just a quick post get this on my server when running Beta 89648

but only when a player named mark (see RPTjoins) he uses steam and said he updated it but

when he joins a pop-up on the server says something about load CD or insert CD( sorry cant remember exactly )

then the server will pause the game until I go to the server and click the Cancel or continue on the pop-up

Is A:\... his install location or the server's? If the server is also running a steam copy, maybe try validating the file cache, delete the expansion\beta folder and re-install the beta.

But at any rate, the server asking for a CD/DVD with a popup is very wrong...can we get a screenshot of that? Also may I ask you to file a CIT ticket with that?

EDIT: Does it also happen to him on other servers (freezing) or only on yours?

When / if he comes back I will ask about drive A :\ ...

My server was a CD/DVD install... never had any steam on it

I did delete re install the Beta folder the first time it happened ...

I will get Screenshot next time and make a ticket...

i hope that look in curve / or move updown in cars will be !disabled! when you use trackir. it happens so often that you look around with trackir and suddenly

the view jumps around. gets really confusing. that whould be nice.

A:\ is probably still reserved for the floppy drive - that drive letter is definitely part of the problem

I will post this here as I really belive this is an easy fixable bug in arma graphic engine. As we can see bellow, the rendered mipmap for some specific buildings depends on the camera angle or somehow ignore the distance from camera to building to compute the right mipmap index. Fixing this bug will solve all that flickering that occurs while moving camera when zoomed in. Many people consider this is texture loading lag.

Fixing this bug will solve all that flickering that occurs while moving camera when zoomed in. Many people consider this is texture loading lag.

I've been noticing that a lot lately, too. I'm still on Beta 89223 (or whichever is on Six, currently). That + increased Z-fighting makes zooming in kind of obnoxious at times. :p

I find the vertical mouse look when driving with mouse is way to sensitive, maybe I just haven't found the way to adjust it's sensitivity. Other than that I like the changes, I wonder what is cooking next since the last beta has been a little while.

BIS seem to be able to implement very substantial changes in a short period of time, however I know they have not set a precedence : )

I've never seen that issue before.

Could probably be usefull if we list GPU's as well as driver to see if it's driver related, myself are using a GTX260 and nVidia ForceWare 191.07 WHQL runnig on Windows XP.

Please check the new feature of auto-looking right/left and up/down it happens that the players view is suddenly stuck (veteran, without TrackIR). Imo it could be better if this feature can be optional enabled/disabled.

Num-5 will re-center the view. But yeah, it had me confused the first few times it hit me. I'm not sure how it's supposed to work, but for me using a slight amount of deadzone, it messes up driving badly. It's like, first nothing happens at all until a certain input threshold is met, then it kicks inn far too much (could be issue with my controller setup, don't know). But this is only up/down. I haven't even noticed any left/right thing going on.

Please have a look at this:

Are you still planning to introduce the Object View distance Slider, or make it a cfg entry, someday to prevent situations like this?
