ArmA 2 site hacked

Recommended Posts

Hmm, the house is in 104, 028. There is a crossroad (106, 029) just before it, west - outside of Krasnostav. The road leads to Ostry hill.

Nice one, it desn't look like the real photos but this is very likely be the place.

Maybe we will get an extension of Chernarus beyond Ostry hill with summer vegetation yahoo.gif

Yea what I was thinking too

Also:

Czech forces are scheduled to remain in Chernarus until 2012, who alongside the British Armed Forces, will assist in training exercises and regional development programmes.

Does anybody remember what Spukayev's role in Harvest Red was?

IIRC, the file you found in the house was about the Red Square bombing, proving that it was the Chedaki that did it, not NAPA.

(spoiler tag used for those that don't want to know what happened during Harvest Red)

I do, my campaign focused around what he had. :D

He was the one who had the documents pertaining to "Operation Cobalt", the plan for the Moscow bombing, which revealed that the attack was perpetrated by the ChDKZ and not NAPA.

On the 30th August it's 10 years since OFP:CWC was released. My guess is that they will give us a new expansion just at that day, as an celebration or something like that.

Kinda reminds me of a geocaching hunt. Seems they're actually describing a way to get to the location of a hidden cache.

Do NOT recognize the area (no surprise here), but MAYBE we'll get another hint after those 42 hours.

However if I'm correct about the geocaching idea (hell, I hope I'm correct :D) the AO is clear (and local for me). :)

Everyone should be looking around Everon!

When you open photos from hacked page in notepad, every files have very long gap in code, is it normal, or coincidence?

Exactly what I thought! Shame I'm abroad... The pictures are amazing, there must be a wonderful spring in "Bohemia" now... In Taiwan it's always summer. I'll return before August though, so.... August the 30th, party in Spukayev's house, wooohooo! :yay:

Following the "geocaching hunt" trace:

I'm not sure, but it could be that the those pictures on the hacked A2 website really were taken near the (real life) location of Spukajev's house.

I checked the corresponding region in Google maps and think I found some spots (trees, dirt road) that seem to match with the first hacker photo.

Check the pictures:

PICTURE 1 (just an overview so you know what region I'm talking about):

PICTURE 2 and 3 (compare the marked spots in both pictures):

An official webpage of a popular modern military game, Arma2, was attacked by an Iranian hacker group called Persian Black Hats Boys (PBHB) at 12:00 CEST today. The PBHB, also known as "p3R51An 8lacK Hat5 8oy5" to the security community are a well established hacker group known for their inventive defacing attacks. A website defacing attack is an attack, whereby the hacker logs onto a webserver as an administrator and changes the look of the page. The PBHB is known for politically motivated attacks and it is speculated the attack is in relation with a new project by Bohemia Interactive that has not been announced yet.

The attack itself was remedied soon after it was discovered, but the message from PBHB threatens that further attacks will take place every 42 hours. The security breach was eliminated, but as Jan Nohatý, an electronic security specialist, said: 'They (hackers) are always one step ahead of us. I do not believe they will hack us in the next 42 hours again as we strengthened our security measures significantly. Our affiliated websites, forums and fan pages however should be aware as they could be connected with our business activity and therefore face certain level of risk.'

A link to a mirror of the defaced webpage on an ANN server follows. No security risk arises from clicking on the link.

According to Bohemia Interactive marketing materials, the company creates simulation terrain according to real terrain data. So the speculation is that the hacker's claims and photos point to a real location. Why would the hackers point to such a place remains unknown. We are not able to locate the spot nor send an investigator to find out the truth.

That looks pretty accurate to me. Nice work.

I found out something else - not sure if this was posted already, but here we go:

The hacker pictures show the path to the hole in the last photo.

Check the trees I marked:

10018035.th.jpg

Adding that to my last post I'm quite sure that the hole on the last picture is on Spukayev's house position. Maybe BI or who ever really hid something there. :)

The hackers say that too in their message:

The stash is still buried there

Could a czech forum member check out that spot? :D

Looking forward to read from a czech forum member who goes there to investigate! ;) :) But watch out the Chedaki coming for you from the forest to the west!! Rush in and out immediately! :D
