Map based on the Applegate Lake terrain data, released by Opteryx some time ago.

As far as i know, no one released a map based on this.

Some facts:

- US style

- WIP about 40 %

- custom roads (based on BI ones)

- some custom objects and buildings (road signs, brigde, A1-imports,etc.)

- 4 airstrips (3 done so far)

- size 10x10 km

- 386.000 objects at current stage

custom signs

FINALLY came up with a layout I'm happy with, other than a few minor adjustments, I think this will be it.

the island itself is nearing "perfection" (Grip is the guy placing all the objects, i am just project leader.. so no credits there)...

but still like 50 objects or more to finish up.. and then haven't even considered destruction models. Edited by granQ

A little something I was working on since quite a while and with the help of some cool guy finally came to a finished state.

Since I seem to be stuck in the past it's of course something that was already there before.

Hi all. I'm letting the community know that I'm getting closer to getting my MCRD Parris Island map ingame with the road way laid down. I haven't put down any grass clutter, trees, forests, etc down as of yet. I have to learn O2 to create a butt-load of custom objects.

Obviously, many may ask why make this map due to it's size and just overall use in ArmA, but it's more of a personal task I've wanted to do since OFP. It's more for just a training island with a rifle range on it. You won't be able to use the confidence course and only a few of the barracks for 2nd Battalion will be enterable, but I think it'll still add some atmosphere into a USMC mod.

I started learning O2 recently thanks to the ArmA community and Gnat's video tutorials (thanks Gnat) so I'm close to having my D.I. Campaign cover on a soldier model. Next I'm going to see what permissions I need (if any) to put the training battalion PT shirts with cammie pants onto my Drill, Knowledge, and Kill hats.

Hope to keep you all updated as soon as possible on a regular basis.

Once you reach that point I could definitely use your objects. I'm sure Parris Island and Pendleton have atleast a few building/building styles in common.

:)

I'll definitely keep you up to date. But, sadly, as I said, I'm still learning O2, plus my mind is running in about sixty directions with everything I am wanting to do. Right now, when I finish laying the road work down, I plan to start placing all of the palm trees, and if you've ever been to or seen "the Island," then you know there's a lot.

I should have most of the summer off to get things going.
