Arma OA: Problem crossfire ati 4890

Recommended Posts

Hello, I finish proving my copy of arrowhead, and I am with the surprise that runs bad, it does not run well as it arma 2. runs to pulls, is not possible to be played, the game feels heavy and fps raises and lowers without knowing so that: S.

Arma 2 it game to full without problems, even recording with fraps, and now with patch 1,07, the game practically is a pen as it runs, but I cannot say the same of OA: (

i7 920 2.66ghz

crossfire xfx ati 4890

6 gb ram 1600 mhz

win7 64 bits.

drivers catalyst 10.4

Regards.

Same problem here.

Arma2 runs like hell since last beta Patches.

OA seems to have a problem with my 4870s in crossfire.

OA Bench without -winxp 28FPS (just one GPU is working)

OA Bench with -winxp 24FPS (both GPUs are working)

Neither had any problems like that with arma2 nor did i have to use -winxp for activate crossfire.

using

i7 920 @3,8

2 4870 CF

6 GB RAM @ 1600

Win7 64bit

How do the 10.6 Catalyst drivers work for you? I have no faith in Crossfire as I always see problems with getting it working. Not sure it's worth the hassle.

Tried a lot different tweaks and also different catalyst versions.

At least, i deinstalled 10.6. Win7 used 10.3 after that.

Had the best results with it.

But 32 FPS at the Benchmark does not satisfy me.

So, i will wait for the promised release patch and hope its not the awful securom, which messes up my performance.

Solution:

1. Firstly set your CAT AI to ADVANCED

2. Rename Arma2OA.exe to Arma2.exe (Other crossfire games may work)

3. Start up Arma 2, you should now see that both GPUs are being used.

DO NOT USE THE -WINXP COMMAND!!! THIS WILL DROP YOUR FPS BY HALF

Currently getting 45 FPS+ usually 60 solid @ 2048x1152 all settings maximum apart from PP = OFF and AA = LOW. The loading of the GPUS is very nice (Around 70%), tested with renaming to "Crysis.exe" but it did not function, note down any other working .exe renames here.
