Exclamation ArmA2 won't install, wheel2.pbo error

Hey all, i'm new here, and new to ArmA2. Last week I bought ArmA2 at a BestBuy, getting pumped for this game(and the soon to be Project Reality mod). Long story short- after many many hours of downloading and installing(and being out at dinner while it installed) I got home and found that it had an error something like
'wheel2.pbo was not found'

Or something very close along those lines. I clicked okay and the whole downloading went ka-put. Ive retried downloading/installing ArmA2 3 times since my original attempt, and everything I have the same error message. Someone said I should go to Steam and type in my access code to get the game from Steam- but that didn't appear to work-no matter how many times I put the code in(also, there is no manual in my version of the game, just a 2nd CD as the manual, and a sticker which I assume is the CD code)

What can I do to play this game :/? If I need to post my Supposedcode to get an answer then I will. I just want to be able to play this game!
Thank you for your help

Preferably don't post your code before trying everything else, then after that still only post your code to the mod of these forums named Placebo, and only after he suggests you do it.

First of all I'm guessing by "download" you actual mean installing/extracting (gues you could call it downloading off the DVD) Try creating a directory on your computer (any random directory will do, it's just temporary), then copy the contents of your DVD there. After that try installing from that directory (keep the DVD in your drive as you'll need it to play). When it asks you for the key code use the code you have there.

After that Download and install patch 1.05.

If that doesn't work then take it back to Best Buy and mention that there's a problem with the disk. If the key doesn't work mention that there's an issue with the key.

Something is also wrong with my computer apparently. I just inserted the disk and nothing happened. So I went to MyComputer and clicked on the drive the disk was in, the disk ejected and a message popped up and said,
"please insert a disk"

.....Anyways- I still have the problem with ArmA2 stopping the "extraction/installation" when its SO NEARLY done, then nothing happening. Any help there?

Alright. I exchanged my copy of ArmA2 at BestBuy and got a new one.

Still won't work. Is there any legal way to get an online copy?
My computer won't read the disk and the last disk was devective.

I bought a legitimate copy from BestBuy and am willing to show the recept, exchange recept(from today) and CD copy.

Someone please tell me if there's anything I can do! Bestbuy won't accept returns and I don't want to spend $50 on an online copy when I already spent money on a hard copy i'm holding in my hands!

Sounds like you need to update your Dvd reader's firmware.

What Placebo said. Try updating your firmware, and if that fails, see if you can borrow someone elses DVD drive, or just buy a new one since if updating the firmware doesn't fix it then your drive is possibly on it's way out.

Identify your DVD drive, go to the manufacturer's website, download new firmware for it (assuming there is any), follow the instructions to flash it to your DVD drive.
