Another one of those "new player" threads...

Hello!

Im a newcomer to the ARMA2 community, been playing PR for a while, and seeing as PR is moving into ARMA2, i thought i might give this a try.

I am currently playing trough the campaigns to familiarize myself with controls and the ARMA2 environment.

SO, if anyone is willing to help out a newbie, here is some questions:

1 Any advice on servers that are friendly/helpful towards newcomers?
(i.e. where to start?)

2 Anything special to be aware of regarding player/ingame/squad etiquette?

3 Since im not a wizard on computers, ive read up on how to install the ACE
mod, but seeing as im sleeping 3-4 hours a night, i didnt really understand.
Would anyone be willing to talk me through it on vent or xfire?

4 new question today...I see that people recommend a launcher program for arma2 addons...which one do you guys think is the one to get?

Check the Multiplayer guide in my signature it contains a lot of helpful information that will assist you

Our community manual also has information about setting up Yoma's addon sync.

You will defintely get more out of your multiplayer experience if you are conversant with and use Teamspeak 2 and 3, Ventrilo and Mumble.

I would familiarise yourself with setting up -mods and download the most common addon islands (Just check the gamespy browser any evening and see what islands are being used)

Once you have all that sorted, you should be able to play on the majority of public servers
